Hey! I live in the Netherlands and did a lot of babysitting. The normal slary for babysittinh here is €10 per hour. I think you get way too less money then you should get here. The normal salary for a dutch aupair in the NL is around 1000-1500 euro's per month. I would definately talk about it! You deserve way more!!!
Hi, only thing i can share with all pinay/pinoy, who want to go to Netherlands to earn some money as au-pair: If your plan is to stay (/overstay your visa), see that your host family wants to pay for you, to follow Dutch courses. And if they're really willing, maybe they even can pay to follow courses in high school or university (which you can follow before/after your work). It will help you later, give you a good experience, help you to understand better how everything works there. And maybe, when your Dutch is good enough, you'll be able to convince an employer to officially hire you (i say maybe, because hiring non-EU residents brings a lot of paperwork for the employer).
In aupair contract in netherlands is laterally saying you are not allowed to support your family back in your country. Is meant to be using for yourself, it's not a salary but a budget you get for helping out for the small work you do for the family. To avoid slavery is there a minimum budget and budget for fair including that the host have to give you. Once more again aupair is not a job and you do not receive a salary but more like a compensation for the work you do and this money is not allowed to send abroad to support family. This money is used for your own expenses like seeing other places and get along with the culture of the country. So commercial about sending support to family is actually no go because in your contract is stated is not allowed.
Being au pair here in the Netherlands can be a very good first step to go to other countries especially Scandinavian countries kasi they offer more allowance there. Coming to NL as au pair is easier and Scandinavian countries prefer au pairs coming from Europe kasi mas madali process
