Those old tracks where good when you in the sections that the cars have to drive over for the cars but as the vid shows the trams were suffering good to see all the improvements happening in the musem over the last few years
It's a shame the tramway line doesn't go all the way round the lake. That would be an amazing attraction of it were reinstated as part of the new tracks project
My wife and I were there last weekend. Seeing the resurfaced wendouree Parade, we wondered if the tracks would be replaced. Now we know! Thanks Brenden.
Thank heavens they are replacing that terrible uneven track, they REALLY need to. We went there a couple of years ago and the experience was very diminished because of the track condition. Looking forward to riding on it again in the future.
And it looks as if it was 1937. I’ll say the same. Pity they can’t take the tracks right round the lake. Magnificent tourist attraction. Or even a gardens loop.
The system should never have closed. But when a tram is competing against a car and in house TVs just to name a few lifestyle changes, it probably would never have survived in it's form anyway.

Yes indeed. Many improvements and a credit to the volunteers who run the operation.

There's talk of a small extension but nothing as large as the one you're suggesting

The track from Carlton St to the Depot Junction is nice and smooth so this section should be great as well.

Visited Lake Wendouree many times on way to Melbourne but never taken the tram. Thanks for the good video.

👍.
Thanks man
and why cannot it go al the way the lake now ,missing a golden opportunity
Council didn’t allow it
Council approval and a large $ investment would be two Road blocks.
