    I tried the five fingers after reading Born To Run, they are great shoes and I seemed to have no problems with them compared to years of hassles with ordinary running shoes..they give a certain feeling of freedom!

    Those are some ripped calves, another benefit of forefoot running. Great video. I just bought the exact same shoe and love running in it.

    I used to do fairly long distances in my VFFs (10+ milers) and found that my pace radically improved due to spring efficiency in my foot/tendons. I typically used them on flat trails ore pavement. Currently I’m back to 8 milers and will likely reintroduce VFFs. I definitely felt free-er in VFFs and lighter on my feet. Never had bone issues or pain. I climb so I use my forefoot a lot so it is strong.

    The Vibram V-Runs are hands down the best Vibrams for road running. I'm on my second pair, love them. Also have the V-Trails and they're great too. Gutted that I didn't buy 2 pairs though as I need a new pair of V-Trails and I hear bad things about V-Trail 2.

    Since 2012 I use fivefingers intensively, no doubt those are the best shoes I ever had in my life. I'm running with them since one year only: never had problems and my legs are exploding!!! I can't stop talking nice words about those amazing shoes🙏🔝💣

    I used to run a bit and then one day did 2kms barefoot and man did my legs hurt in unusual places afterwards. It wasnt unbearable or anything, just muscles I had never used before I guess?!

    • @mattk6343
      @mattk6343 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, that happened to me two years back, when I started running in VFFs. I suffered like an animal, I had to develop new muscles. My calves hurt extremely even after a small run like 2kms. Then, after about 3months of struggle and suffering, the body accomodated.

    • @gudboyngdisyerto
      @gudboyngdisyerto 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mattk6343 after almost 3months of running with kso evo, my muscles already adopted and don't hurt anymore but it is the sole skin that holds me from running more than 18km. how long did it take for your skin to get used to running long distances wearing them?

    • @mattk6343
      @mattk6343 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gudboyngdisyerto I don't know. It probably was not a problem for me. But I also do not run 18km or more, so that may be it.

    Only really have two problems with the vibrams, first which isn't REALLY a problem per se is that my toes are kinda short so except for my big toe none of the other toes goes all the way in leaving a fair bit of empty room in the front. The other is that to avoid the "flip-flop effect" I have to REALLY tighten the lacing, as hard as it is in fact possible, probable at least in part due to my fairly narrow heels/ankels.

      I have a pair of the V-Trains. I bought them before getting into running, as I thought they'd provide a benefit when weightlifting, doing squads and deadlifts, helping me feel the ground and push off. I've determined their benefit as a weightlifting shoe is negligible. The best way to feel the ground is to go barefoot, really.

    What happens if one would sweat a lot in the feet?
    Do you need to wash it weekly since it would stink or would socks be counter intuitive?

    • @whatsupbudbud
      @whatsupbudbud 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have really sweaty feet which make my ordinary shoes (sneakers, skate shoes, boots) smell terrible but, oddly enough, after running in Vibram's they smell just fine. Perhaps it's because summer has not yet come where I'm from.
      They still sweat but it's not so bad. Actually, every once in a while I take them off and run with my feet bare. This scrapes off some of the extra "smelly skin" and then when I put them back in Vibram's, both the shoes and the feet are already dry.
      Nevertheless, I do wash them every couple runs for good measure. Easiest solution for me so far is to put them in the sink, block the water and add a bit of window washer, then rinse and air dry (not in direct sun/on heater).
      All in all, I love my FFS and look forward to every time I'm going out with them.

    Can you wear these with socks?

    • @ChinskiChat
      @ChinskiChat  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +mr loxley you need toe socks that accommodate each toe individually. - then yes. I’ve done that before but I prefer just using talk powder instead then taking shoes into the shower occasionally.

    • @kunstsein
      @kunstsein 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You would also need socks that encapsulate your toes.

    How is the size, from their site I need size 40 since my foot is 25.5 cm long, but from emailing them they said to buy number 42, which is ...

    • @ChinskiChat
      @ChinskiChat  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think 42 is about 8 UK right? Well as long as you don't go too far above what you think, you should be okay as you can tighten the laces down pretty good. Another consideration is how long your toes are - some people have long thin ones and some short and fat of course! Finally, my feet are very wide - but the nature of the material meant there wasn't an issue with that. Let me know how you get on...

      Hi Humanati. I have a standard video tripod with a head for either my DSLR or else an attachment to hold my iPhone (depending on which I use for recording). I also have an angle-poise arm holder for the iPhone but this is quite wobbly so not that useful. Thanks for looking!

    I've heard walkin with these on all kinds of surfaces helps you get some arch in your feet, i have flat feet so i'm thinking about these shoes, i love barefoot walking, the only thing i'm worried about is durability....Some people complain about that, and considering i have flat feet all my shoes end up wide and finished around 6months ... any advise? thank you

    • @ChinskiChat
      @ChinskiChat  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Raulis - well, you raise a good point. They are very thin by their nature and will wear down quicker than a thick pair of running shoes given the same mileage ...

    • @whatsupbudbud
      @whatsupbudbud 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Might be useful to someone - use Shoe goo for fixing the vibram soles, that will make them last forever. This stuff has been used by broke skateboarders who can't afford new skate shoes twice a summer for ages.

    • @ChinskiChat

      Well that's a good question. They are constructed from a stretchy material if that's a help. However, my feet are particularly wide so they would look slightly different on somebody with more narrow feet.

      v run is made specifically for road running. i have kso evo, thinner than v run, and i run with them mostly on road. i don't have v run so i can't compare and the reason i went with kso evo is because it is $50 cheaper where i am, and they work great for me.

    I bought myself a pair of Nike "Run Natyral" shoes here in London in Agust 2017 and I absolutely LOVE THEM!! 👍👍❤
    They are a hybrid between these super minimalistic five finger shoes and cushioned shoes.
    They are extremely flexible and wrap around the foot. Where as the traditional running shoes have a much stiffer sole.
    They were also the cheapest to buy, around £60, which is always a bonus. 👍❤
