- Well, we are back with some prodigy issues. What’s concerning is the amount of these videos that are up on the platform. If anyone has had a similar issue let me know, I’d love to resolve this.

The only issue i have found is steel cassing every so offten get a failure to battery. But i had the same issues with other pistols with steel casing. I run only brass now. I have ran really cheap brass ammo and no issues at all. My edc ammo is hornidy defence hollow points for my edc prodigy 4.25. It shoots hornidy great no issies at all.
The bullet stack in the mag is more than likely contacting the slide stop causing it to lock open before a completely empty mag. You should be able to see it with the top end of the gun off and slide stop installed with the mag inserted.
@@cheese0794 you’re absolutely right. A little filing on the slide stop solved that issue. The secondary issue was in the imbalance between the recoil and main spring. The 23lb main does not jive with the 12lb recoil spring. I swapped the main to a 17lb and that did the trick.
@@TacticalCandy glad to hear that fixed you lock back issue.
I am running a 20# mainspring in my 9mm 2011s. That 10-12# range on the recoil spring with the commander length and being ported with a 20# mainspring should do the trick also.
@@cheese0794 my go to is 17-19 main with 12 recoil on my other set ups. For some reason the prodigy comp isn’t responding the way other 2011s have. At least for me! Then again, I’m notoriously unlucky.
I lubed up mine this past wknd it did good just one malfunction so far since i had it for a month
Did you try turning it off and back on again?
Sure did, even tried blowing in it. No luck
Your disconnector is catching on the slide. Pull back the slide look at the disconnector, how it may be catching on the ramp. It happened to me, had to do some lite filing on the area where it was catching the disconnector.
I bought one just like yours and The Plug or Bushing does not work on My 4.25 Prodigy. Get The EGW one with the polymer Bushing. Those Guns are Cerakoted everywhere so cerakoati moving over Cerakote wears off & Builds up a gooey Sticky black Pile of Goop So i racked My slide 1400 times Before i Cleaned it.You will see Right behind The trigger on both sides is where it comes out The The disconnector is Dragging you can watch it. I oiled mine up and It runs Fine. But I bought that POS Guiderod it dosent Fit I tried to call But never got anyone to pick up. I know The Comp from having a Dr920 P IThey Tell you To shoot 200 Rounds of Hot ammo i did and at 175 Rounds it never messed up again. But I use what the Directions say and havent had any problem except That Guiderod EGW makes a Guiderod with a Polymer Bushing that works Great can change spring quickly .Good Luck .
Yes get a 17lb main spring. Thats what i run in my prodigy 4.25 . I run a 8lb recoil spring its perfect for neg recoil and drops front back on sight at zero every time. I have a 10lb but wasnt as sweet as the 8lb. The stock springs are way over sprung. Especially the main spring.
@@spencerwarren9219 I will try that! I slapped a 10lb and it didn’t feel much better with recoil, honesty felt softer with the 12lb. Got a 17lb main in now. I’ll order up that 8lb spring this evening!
