hello, I studied a psychology for my undergrad and subsequently worked in the commercial world for a few years before moving back into healthcare as an occupational therapist with a Masters entry level degree. worked for a few years now and looking into another neuroscience oriented postgrad. the video helped me a lot! thanks!

Hey I love the video! Personally, I’m interested in doing medical research involving things like Alzheimer’s, ALS, CP, etc. in your opinion, is neuroscience the right degree to pursue for that or would I be better off in biology? Thanks!
I think either degree is fine. Depending on your school, the courses offered may be different for each program. I would look at the class sizes and topics to see which program has courses you are more interested in taking. With either degree (or any degree in general) you can still participate in whatever research you want to. It just may be helpful to learn about a similar subject in your classes to your research. If a person chooses neuroscience as his premed major, then is it possible to do specialization in other organs like cardiologist? Or he just can be a neurologist or neuro surgeon?
During medical school, you will do rotations through different departments and then you decide which residency program you want to do. I focused on neurosurgeon and neurologist in this video because those specialties may be of interest to a premed neuroscience major, but you can go into any specialty you feel passionate about.

u can be a neurochemist, or psychiatrist bc they study chemistry of the brain to understand mental illness
