In this video Heimler covers everything you need to know about AP Human Geography Unit1 Topic 1 (1.1). It's all about maps and how they depict spatial relationships like absolute and relative direction, absolute and relative distance, and all the rest. Additionally, you'll learn about reference and thematic maps, and why all maps are lies in various ways by considering the major map projections you need to know in the course.
The legend is back
All day! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Hi Heimler! I just wanted to say thank you for helping me with AP World. I got a 4 on the exam and majority of that was thanks to you. I know that the APHUG students will be happy about you doing new vids. Thanks so much!
Congrats! That’s amazing 🙌🏻🙌🏻
@@heimlershistoryThank you. You were a big help for tests and quizzes and the exam.
I'm looking forward to APUSH thanks to you
I’m looking forward to APUSH too I start on Thursday. I thought I didn’t do well on the test but I ended up getting a 5 in AP world and I was so excited. I got a 4 on AP Geo in 9th grade.
@ryanbradley3293 Hi, my son is a highs hool freshman and is taking AP Human Geo because it was the only class offered besides World Civ. His teacher the first day told them most kids fail.the class😢 could you please give me.some.pointers so I can pass them.to.my.son. Thank you
Seriously, thanks for doing AP Hug! Solid class, solid Heimler. So pumped for the new AP World videos!
First one coming out tomorrow!
LET'S GO!!!!!!!@@heimlershistory
🙌🏻
So glad you’re doing videos for APHUG now too!! Love your APGov and APUSH videos, so I know students will be helped immensely by these!
The timing could not be better! You helped me get a 5 on APWH, and I was struggling in APHUG, but I saw that you're making guides for APHUG! Thank you so much for all you do Heimler, I hope you'll help me clutch APHUG as well!
I did the AP Gov review packet last year and got a 5 on the AP exam!! Thank you so much, I'm happy to be back for APUSH and APHUG this year :)
I can bet that with heimler now teaching aphug that there will be a 10% increase in the 5 rate this year
Ha, mighty generous of you 🙌🏻
it's awesome to see Heimler doing a new AP series!
I admit: these are pretty fun to make
Oh, you're doing aphg this year, that's so cool!
Your videos were the only way I studied for Apwh last year, and if i could get a 5 from using em, I know you can help tons of students get a 5 of APhg too!
You helped me so much for AP world last year
So now that you're releasing AP Human World Geo videos now is so amazing
Thanks for the help
You’re welcome! Glad to accompany you another year! 🙌🏻
a very helpful video🎉thanks
Heimler dropping some new 🔥🔥 vids
Mmhmm!
Hi Mr. Heimler! I'm so so glad you're doing APHG videos because I'm taking this as a self-study class and was worried about not having your videos to save me! Do you think you can make some videos about the FRQ's for this class since they're different from the rest of the AP history classes? You're the best!
Thanks for doing this video! As a freshman this would be a huge help :D
You're welcome! Glad it helped...
Im taking AP Euro next year, but im sitting here watching an AP HG video cuz i love Heimler's videos so much 😂
Mighty fine compliment that is…
Heck yes!!!!! So pumped you’re doing AP Hug 🤗 videos 🎥!!!!!!!
Ha, thanks! They’re pretty fun to make
Watching this even tho I’m not in APUG 🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥
Ha, love it 😊
@@heimlershistory OMG
HI HEIMLERRR 😍😍😍
SAME HERE
oh hey 👋
We thought we wouldn't see him again, but he's baaaccckkk!
Mr sinn has some competition now
He’s the king of the APHG space, no doubt
Let’s go I’m doing APHG this year
Heck yes 🙌🏻
Taking aphug this year. Its my last ap class as a senior lol, im excited though :)
0:20 no, no I am not. But… I took APUSH last year and I’m just interested to listen in :)
P.S. I got a 3 on my APUSH exam! Which I’m content with because I struggled a lot during that course. But you did help me a lot, especially when it came to the multiple choice practices, which stuck with me even into my exam!
Also, I don’t think my school offers this one so it’d be cool to listen and see what it’s about
W hiemler for doing human geo, been used to him for AP world and APUSH
I love maps! Yay!
I’m doing dual enrollment US History instead of APUSH. I hope Heimler’s videos still help.
Yeah should cover basically the same material
@@heimlershistory amazing! I can still use your videos lol.
👍🏻
I also did the same exact thing with my school. His videos really should help drastically.
I sadly didn’t use Heimler’s videos as much as I could have and am a little disappointed that I didn’t use them more, but if you do, you should learn a lot and it is much easier to understand by his way rather than just and only a textbook (although I would still recommend studying / reading the textbook).
Just a quick pointer, I would try to watch a video based on where you are in the textbook. A lot of times I would go through and try to find videos that had to do with what part of the textbook we were on, so it coincided with what I was already attempting to learn, or my teacher would post them. But do whatever is best for you and the way you can study! My teacher made us take Cornell notes on each of our chapters, which was not a help at all for me personally. But everyone studies and learns differently. You’ll find your way.
No matter the way you learn best, Heimler is always an amazing help.
Good luck out there ap soldier!
I am watching this to help me study because I have a Easter Terminal for Geography Tomorrow (I'm Jamaican, I'm 13 in grade 8 or second from which is what we call it in Jamaica and I am in Glenmuir High School
I got a 5 on world bc of you, and with this I hope for the same in humgeo!
THANK YOU SO MUCH HEIMLER I ONLY GOT A 5 BECAUSE OF YOU
Daaaaaang! 🙌🏻
My daughter wishes you had been teaching this when she took it last year. She got a 4 mostly on her own with a lot of drilling with me. lol. She's doing your videos on APUSH now.
Aw man if only I had these videos 2 years ago, Mr. Sin did just fine though
The year after I finish APHuG is the year Heimler makes APHuG tutorial videos. Anyways, this is a really well explained video, and I hope to use you in AP Euro later this year
Same lol
Shoutout Johnny Harris!
Ha… actually John Monmonier and his book, “How to Lie with Maps”
I got a 5 on apush thanks to you
NOICE!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
What are the main differences going to be between your old AP world videos and your new ones?
When I published the first set of videos, it was the first year of a major curriculum overhaul. So with four more years of experience, I think I can do better.
Are all the unit videos in the AP HUG review guide posted or are you still making them?
1-4 are there now, unit 5 will be up soon, and the last two will be up by mid-September
I'm confused. I'm a teacher and loved Heimler's videos for APWH, and I was overjoyed to see that he started making APHUG videos. However, did he only make videos for the first 3 topics and then stop???
No, I’ll be posting two per week for each subject throughout the school year…
@@heimlershistory awesome. You're the man
I'm not taking APHuG; as I already did, but I just wanted to watch the video 😁
Well that just makes me happy
Hey heimler, im going to be taking AP gov and im already preping so I just wanted to ask, what advice would you give to keep in mind about the course?
Don’t skimp on learning the vocab and know those docs/cases inside and out
@@heimlershistoryk thanks
Didn't the Winkel Tripel projection replace the Robinson projection as the standard for world maps?
National Geographic has adopted it for their preferred projection (which is a big deal) but the Robinson still out ranks the WT on other scales. It’s an endless debate…
Why couldn’t u have these last year I just took the test w mr sinn I NEEDED YOU
Aw man, I wish I could do it all, but I keep bumping up against finitude. But if you’re in AP World this year, I’m publishing all new videos for that..
Excuse me . What should I buy text book to watch this video?
hey heimler! will you continue uploading the rest of the AP HUG videos here?
Yep, every Sunday and Tuesday nights…
yay thanks! i got a 3 on ap world from your review packet and i’m hoping to pass ap hug this year too! :D
WATCHIG this GOING TO EURO BUT THIS IS HUGE UPDATE TO HEIMLERVERSE
Ha, yeah I’m stoked
watcing dis even tho i did aphg last year
As we say here in the South: “my, my…”
@@heimlershistory keep up with da work and let’s get that 5 on the ap world exam🔥
Heck yes! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Are you gonna be uploading ap world vids this year
Yep, first one tomorrow

first test gang?
is mr sinn authorizing this?
😂
I'm premoving for next year 💀
i love yu🫶
🗣️
Aps gave me ptsd ngl
😔
Same here lol, I took APUSH. I’m not taking another ap (history- no offense Heimler, it’s not because of you, I promise). It’s because I struggled and had so many late nights from APUSH. I struggled a lot and didn’t take to heart all the time I could have studied. I didn’t time myself well at all, probably cuz I wasn’t really ready for the ap course to start with. (I *had to* take it because I’m in a dual enrollment between my high school and the affiliated college). I definitely could have also used more of the materials I had, like Heimlers videos, which I did use but it would have been much more of a help if I watched more.
Just in general I don’t think I was ready to take on a course like that. I’ve taken honors courses no problem, I’m good to go for those, but ap is just not my thing lol. Specifically I just don’t think I’m set up for ap history, cuz history was never my specialty.
I have regrets cuz I wish I did time myself better where I knew that it would have helped me and I would have learned more- procrastination was always on my shoulder when it came to apush.
But you live and learn, and Heimler does do a phenomenal job with his explanations and videos, it just wasn’t cut out for me I guess.
I did get a three on the exam though, I’m content with my score, although at least a 4 would have been amazing. But hey, at least I get something.
My school is set up so weird though, it’s literally in this order: United States History, and then Modern World, and I don’t think my school has any other specific offerings for other history courses, although I’m not completely sure. I also don’t know if that’s the normal structure for the way the courses go for other schools, but I just thought it was weird cuz I’ve heard the APUSH is definitely one of the hardest ap’s to take.
I actually kind of regret, cuz I’m taking just a regular course next year for modern world, I’m not taking ap modern world. I kind of was a rock in hard place because I really wanted to just to prove to myself that I could do it and that I wouldn’t procrastinate and that I’d study well and definitely use all of the materials I had and watch practically all of Heimlers videos to help me. But idk, I chose not to. I think I just don’t want to chance going through what I did already, and I thought that modern world would actually be harder for me cuz it’s so much more of a geographical place (which I believe I would struggle with more than it being like a certain part of the world like US) even though it’s less detail than apush. But I figured it might still be harder for me , so I went with the safer route and figured I would just go with the regular course, not ap. I’m sorry Heimler 😢. But if I struggle with anything, I’m still going to watch his videos because, even though they are technically meant for ap, they could still help me :)
Sorry for making this a venting session 😂. Sometimes it’s just easier to get it all out to random people on the internet, without giving any personal info of course. It’s just nice a lot of the time to know that other people were in the same boat, or at least around that, as another, and that there are other people there who understand. So, sorry again for making this a venting session lol 😂but thank you for taking your time to read my Ted Talk 😂 (not really a Ted Talk 😂)
