      I don't know much about Nancy. I'm from Australia but wow! She really doesn't seem like a very good sport here or a nice person. You see a lot of the girls congratulating each other at the Olympics on the podiums, all from different countries. This was ICY as it gets. Pardon the pun lol. But I think Nancy's attitude set the tone here and the other girls wouldn't have felt comfortable talking to or congratulating her. I notice no congratulatory hug or comments from Nancy to the winner either. The kid who won was 16 and you would think as an older girl Nancy would at least have had a kind word of encouragement and congrats for her. All she got was a death stare...whew.

      Oksana didn't even win it. What are you talking about? She screwed up and she knows it. Just look at the tears and the look of sadness as she skated off the ice. She was looking for comfort as she knew she just didn't have it that night. Her artistic impression were almost as phony as her technical presentation. which is where she really screwed up. She got a free gift from back home, but don't think it was for her, They were out to cheat the American girl. Low moment in sports. You know damn good and well Nancy Kerrigan skated rings around her and Oksana knew it skating off the ice. I took a look at your girl Tonya and she was pitiful. That movie is nothing but trash and will be a flop. I looked at the trailer and almost clicked it off. So much profanity and expressions that sicken me, but that is the real Tonya Harding. She really was a she devil and don't start in with her having a hard life because her mother may have had an even harder life. Be consistent.

    Obviously, everyone at the Olympics wants the gold medal, but to be the top three in the world is an outstanding feat within itself. All three of them should've been extremely proud of themselves. The irony of the 1994 scandal is that neither Nancy Kerrigan nor Tonya Harding won the gold medal that year.

      It's amazing to me how she's (and her associates) always trying to cover up and blame the media for the bad attitude that the cameras picked up. That may happen once, but she did it multiple times and it wasn't the media's fault. They gave the excuse that she was "exhausted" at DisneyWorld. Nancy's diva attitude that night was not just an isolated case. After she won her medal She was contractually obligated by Walt Disney co, as they were one of her sponsors, to be in their commercials and various other public functions. Her very first Disney parade she was pouting and whining on the float. Loudly protesting to her mother about wearing her metal and stating repeatedly that this was "so corny" and "dumb". Disney was paying her a cool 2 million dollars to simply wave, smile and tell people to go to Disney World in commercials. Think about this, She was a grown ass 24 year old woman whining about waving on a float with Mickey Mouse and getting paid crazy amount of money for it that people would probably jump to do if they were in her shoes. Unsportsmanlike isn't the word for self entitled individuals such as herself. I will be eternally grateful that Oksana won as she was a sweetheart that truly deserved it.

    what really happened is that what most people dont know is that this was the first time the ukranian national anthem was played at an olympics. it was expected for kerrigan to win so of course the had the unites states national anthem ready and all that. once baiul won, they had to scramble to find the ukranian anthem, or whatever was designated. dont forget the soviet union had just dessolved 2 years prior and this was the first olympics the republics competed individually

    • @GGE47

      It was because the iron curtain came down and they had the old USSR anthem. They might as well have played the soviet anthem after what the judges pulled. The five Communist bloc was still fighting the cold war and they deliberately cheated the American girl and not because they loved the Ukrainian girl. It comes from the way they were trained and should never be put it in the hands of the Communists. They cheat too much.

Judges didn't have the benefit of replay in '94 and the judges likely would've judged the same based on Baiul's artistic performance over Kerrigan's stronger technical content. Really, any of the judges who gave Oksana the first place ordinal could have been considered the tie-breaker. I think they highlighted his because he gave them the same score with Oksana having the higher artistic mark. I think CBS just wanted emphasize to the American audience that Nancy almost won and he was the perfect judge to use for that. But again, it was less about the scores and more about the ordinals. Kerrigan's such a sore loser. Everyone wants to win but it's more respectable to lose with grace.

    La mirada de Kerrigan es de "maldita" y su expresión es de que no está para nada contenta con el resultado.😡 Pero su presentación no fue tan llamativa como la de Oksana. Ni hablar, ella merecía el oro.🤷

    Nancy had a tough time hiding her natural contempt, jealousy and self-righteous attitude here. Her egocentric behavior is remarkable.
    What's ironic about this is that even though she won silver, she goes back to the US towards enormously lucrative deals where Oksana gets nothing even close to what Nancy gets financially and she's only 17, became an orphan at the age of 13 when both her grandparents and mother died.

    The scores couldn't have been closer for Baiul and Kerrigan. I am sorry Kerrigan did not finish with gold but made me sad to see her so cranky. She acted like she didn't know the cameras and microphones were on her.

    Not that I agree with how Kerrigan reacted, I just keep thinking about the fact that she lost the gold medal to a 16 year old by 1/10 of a point after all the work she did just to get there.... I totally understand her frustration....

    • @marel6279
      @marel6279 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Of course all the other skaters worked hard to get there too. You don't just get the medal handed to you because of a bizarre knee bashing incident- her skating was the same as it had been before the incident so it didn't affect her skating. If that would be the case then don't bother having a competition even.

    • @marel6279
      @marel6279 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Doesn't mean she has to be mean to the teen (then), who was an orphan for pete sake and from a former commie country that won. Bayul never did anything to her.
