- In 1947, with the B-47 Stratojet, Boeing created a completely innovative aircraft for the time thanks to the combination of swept wings and nacelle reactors.
Thus the B-47 became the mother of the B-52, on the military side, but also of the Boeing 707 on the civil side. After which many airliners adopted the same concepts.
The career of the B-47 was not very long compared to the B-52 but many planes flying today carry the Stratojet genes.

Le film mentionné a pour héros un joueur de baseball qui reprend du service comme pilote. C’est le général de brigade James Stewards qui tient le rôle principal. Il a gagné ses galons pendant la guerre dans les bombardements au dessus de l’Allemagne. J’ai vu le film à la télévision quand j’étais adolescent
Avec son look, il avait 20 ans d’avance. Le 707 est son fils et le 747 est son petit-fils.
Bonsoir, excellent sujet, et vous pensez bien que cet incroyable bombardier pouvait être tout sauf insignifiant, en plus comme vous le père du B707 , il était aussi le maillon entre le B-36, avion hybride à hélices et réacteurs et l'increvable B-52, toujours là après le B-1 et le B-2, et qui côtoiera probablement un temps le futur B-21.
