When he died his conscience was uploaded into what is called a Simulacrum by Hammond Robotics. Hence why in the beginning he sees himself as human. When he got that glass shard stuck in his neck, he saw what he actually was and what Hammond made him into. Anything that is remotely related to Hammond, he goes into a rage against whatever or whoever it is. *Possible spoilers? Maybe? Warning here just in case* Revenant is 200+ yrs old. When he dies, he's forced to comes back. He wants revenge on Hammond Robotics for making him into what he is now. He wants to know his past. He wants to know why and who did it. Revenant had the illusion of free will. He thought he was doing everything by himself. But in reality, it was just his programming that told him what to do. And in the end, that programming broke and he experience hundreds, if not thousands, of deaths he has experienced at once.
