I've been dj'ing for 13 years and i'm planning to get this controller for small house parties, it's a really nice layout
personally i prefer the denon controllers (got the mc-6000) over the s2 and s4. solid quality plus appealing haptics. great review on a nice piece of kit. keep it up!
Ordered an n4 at first but wasn't for me so sent it back and i've got one of these on the way can't wait to get it! :)

I've been using an MC3000 for over 5 years, excellent old controller for virtual DJ,works great for most events without all the extra gadgets that newer controllers have.

I have one denon mc3000 since the price got low.... i already have the vci 300. 100 and 100 mk2... but this is way more profesional.... just a great and amazing built

@DigitalDJTips i have the S4 and i find the scratching is on point... when i use the mc3000 with traktor pro 2.1.2 the latency and lag is really noticeable!

You don't need an external soundcard, it sounds great.
OOPS ordered a N4 for a decent price, will have this around a year then will make an even bigger step up but thanks for your advice anyway.
Hey there! :D I've been in the exact same spot as you, and let me tell you, these choices aren't easy. In your situation and your budget, Traktor Pro 2 is the way to go! Since it is only $89, it is a cheap yet POWERFUL software. As for controllers, this one is a great beginer mixer. Hope this helped! :D

I just bought it and plug it to the traktor pro 2 using win7. I preferences I have setup it in the following way:
*Audio Output MC3000. I have installed the DENON DJ ASIO drivers.
*Output routing: Internal
-Output monitor: R: Number 3 L: Number 4
-Output Master: R: Number 1: L: Number 2
*Controller manager: MC3000_MAP_V1000_TKP2 Generic MIDI
My problem is that when playing i am hearing on the headphones the same as on the speaker. PLEASE HELP!
Excellent controller but I got one little complaint, if you have the sync button lit up With traktor pro 2 program, when you push the cue/cup button, there is a delay and at times major delay, when setting cue points, very inaccurate, sometimes pushing the cue buttons dont work at all.
But once you take off the sync button, everything works great, just have to adjust the tempo slider manually or better yet, try changing the tempo with some music program out there.

Hi I am very undecided about the controller and software to choose. I have an hercules control steel, I have it for 2 years now and it came with virtual DJ limited edition, and as it says, it is very limited. I don't know what to chose if Serato or traktor. My budget is limited, I can go from 300 to 600 top, I am undecided between this controller, kontrol s4, reloop mix 4 for a person like me, wich one should I buy? I want one to get used to club mixers and some house parties and have some fun

Big question for a very intelligent guy, Phil I have a Hercules MP3 E2, Im looking to upgrade to start my djing career and to gig. My choices I've whittled down with a budget of £300 are this the MC3000 and the Numark N4, what should I go for?
would you say that the numark mixdeck is still a good controller to use and start off with even though it was made a couple years ago?
beening looking at this and the reloop jockey 3me... which would you recommend? main thing im looking for is build quality... im only really learning to mix but as i need a soundcard, it makes sense to me to spend alittle more and get a controller that has spent of features that i will grow to use. it makes no sense why 2 channel controller with soundcard are only 50-60 cheaper?

I would choose the MC3000 over the Kontrol S2 any time: You can connect media players to the first, but you can't on the other! What to do if your laptop crashes?? The 3000 definitely wins in this situation.
I know that, just didnt specify more, its not the actual unit, its the program working with the unit, could be a bug in the program, defint not the unit.

Hi I currently DJ with TSP & an X1 solely, I come from a vci100 background, have used an audio8 soundcard from day one, how does the built in soundcard compare on this please? can't find the spec anywhere, and am very interested in getting this, in my opinion better than an S2 (opens up the door for vid mixing without serato) and get to keep my beloved Traktor so can vary my gigs/get more varied work, only thing I'm not sure about would be the sound card, any info be greatly appreciated, cheers
Hi I'm having trouble cueing up tracks to be played next. I have the headphone Pan set to cue and nothing comes out. When I'm setting up the next track it comes out of the speakers and is also recorded. I'm trying to just hear the track being cued through my headphone. Can you please help me out? Thanks in advance
i have the traktor pro 2 software in my laptop. i used to have the s2. i am looking into buying this denon. am i able to load the drivers and play it with traktor? or is there other things i need to do? will it run with that version of traktor software?

Hi Phill thanks for taking the time to answers all these questions. I have trouble deciding between this controller the S2 and the innovation twist. The problem is that none of them support deckadance. But you can map all these controllers right? And is one of these controllers more suited for mapping with other software or does it make no difference? I even start to question if I should use other software. What do you sugest? By the way your reviews really helps so much! thanks!
Does it have any delay when scratching (in Tractor Pro)? Or it's just a matter of some settings in Tractor? And how differs the use of MC3000 and S2, if MC3000 has MIDI protocol, but Kontrol S2 - NHL? What works better/faster in S2? Thanks!

Another question. Can't the unbalanced outputs be used for your booth monitor and the balanced ones for the "real" master output? I mean, you can't control the volume independanly but can't you just adjust the volume of your booth monitor using the knob of the speaker/amplifier to suit your needs? Is that possible or am I talking crazy? Thanks!
Does this have a normal AUX input on its back? Because my speakers only have AUX outputs.

@DigitalDJTips how would you compare it to the s4 or s2 as far as scratching? I find it hard and there is a bit of latency!
We are working with the Serato SL4 on Pioneers but we want something smaller for the smaller gigs. Since it's an older model, I can buy it for cheap at this moment. Would in be compatible with the Serato scratch Live 4?
The SL4 is still supported by Serato, is that what you're asking? It works with Serato DJ Pro, no idea about Scratch as not used it in years - it's legacy software and not updated for today's OSes, so I'd advise intead using with Serato DJ Pro (which the SL4 unlocks anyway).
Thx for the quick reply! No, we are already using the SL4 but I was talking about the DenonMC3000. Do you know if it works in combination with the SL4?
Without trying, I'd suspect not. The mixer won't work as you'd have to use it as a "standalone" mixer and the Line Ins don't work that way on the MC3000.

Naor Hayon Thank you for replying sir. I am a beginner level. I feel that having dedicated keys for loops, samples, effects and hot cues, makes it easy to control. This is true ? For example controllers such as Stanton DJC.4, the Denon MC 3000 and MC2000, Pionner DDJ Ergo-v and DDJ SB. The numark mix track pro has pads which have different ablilities based on our selection, whether we want samples, loops or hot cues etc. Is this ok ?

Looking at your demo, i think i will stick with my dn 4500 mp3 compatible twin cd players until
the technology get better. these devices are over priced and not bullet proof yet. I use my laptop as back up only, through Virtual dj or win-amp. i'll give these systems another 5 years before i see what to move on to.
Fare point, but things aren't like what the used to be 4 years ago. Prices your getting for a gig have dropped sharply. Things are extremely tight....
