Peter and Joseph visit Werribee Mansion and discover the story of an Australian Pastoral Empire. The Mansion was Constructed of the large basalt and sandstone and was completed in 1877 for the Chirnside family who were originally from Scotland. They made their fortune from wool across the Western District of Victoria.
Come and listen to the tragic love story of how Thomas' heart was broken and what may have lead him to his final circumstances.

OMG, what's dreadful stories this gorgeous mansion has to carry!
I love the classic architecture inside out. A heavy wooden staircase welcomes you once you open the door. The walls are full of paintings and velvet curtains soften the room. Chandarias are gorgeous ever...
Just lovely...7:48. This mansion reminds me of one in my town, Biltmore Estate. wealth and fame. I cannot imagine how wonderful your stay was you had! It looks quite modern look-inside. Love it.

Very tragic love story… but a lovely estate is left behind! I loved seeing the walk down the long wonderful drive before you arrive at the Mansion buildings. Excellent design and furnishings … it’s hard to imagine living there back in the day. Too bad the family couldn’t keep up the estate, but I guess that happens in lots of families. I’d love to see more of the grounds and the rose garden too. Thanks for the tour!! 👌👍👍💕

Many of the Mansions were either pulled down on like this was was bought by the Catholic Church and used as a Seminary, The Catholic Church didn't havre to pay any taxes, so they could afford the up keep. Have a great day Jennifer. 🙏🏼🤗♥️👍🏼

I use to love going to the garden with roses everywhere . My favourite place to ve honest as my mother took me there on many occasions. Also l went to the Cross country events.

Looks like the Scottish weather accompanied you on the day too. The Werribee Mansion is beautiful. But man that is a terrible love story. Andrew did Thomas wrong! What was Mary even thinking? And then they work together to build Mary a mansion. What a crazy story. And so sad how their lives ended. Thanks for sharing this beautiful property and crazy story with us. The hotel there does look lovely too!

Not sure who the worst tinker is in that love triangle, Thomas should have tried harder with Mary’s dad, Mary for being with both brothers or Andrew for stealing Mary! Quite the story though! But wow 🤩 what a stunning mansion inside and out and the approach was fabulous! Loved the Bear rug in the pool room 😉 how tragic what happened to the three of them eventually it was like they were in turmoil from the get go. Wow you can stay there, how lovely! Imagine the surprise on Thomas’s face when Andrew brought Mary Back as his wife. How heart broken Thomas would have been to the point he remained a bachelor for the rest of his life. In Thomas’s heart he would have felt betrayed. Mary should have known better or perhaps Mary may have found Andrew more to her liking. Amazing love triangle. Quite a story. It was all build for Mary, Andrew and three children. 60 rooms. They were living in the lap of luxury. Times have certainly changed. The hotel section was in the old seminary which has been turned into a luxury hotel 🏨
