    Loved your review! I had just ordered a sample online (for waaaay too much $$, but so happy I did!), so was sitting in a cloud of violets while I watched you go on about this gorgeous frag! Your comment about the 'something vegetable-ish' answered my question to myself! For I sensed that too - in a very good way. But, you are so right-on, this is the perfect balance of violet and leather, and to me smells like absolute Class. I hope you know what I mean. Thank you for this, you are awesome to watch and listen to! btw, I have just ordered a full bottle for myself to welcome this new year of 2024, thanks to you and this wonderful review!

      I absolutely understand what you mean about the classy aspect of it. My bottle is less than half full now, almost time to get a replacement and it’ll be my first 200ml bottle from this collection! Quite excited! 🥰
      So glad you loved it!

    Something in your air in Canada is bringing your personality to a new fun level… your amazing… smart, handsome, and very funny…. I can’t wait to smell this one. I love violets. I think this may be your favorite…❤️

    I found it really pleasant and definitely has a place in the Hermessence collection. The leather accord reminds me of that in Tom Fords Ombre leather and Blamage by Nassamatto. There's an non-destinct fruity note that's tart and sour, king of like raspberry or rhubarb. The violet is there for me all throughout with lots of ionones.
    I think Nagel is doing well. I feel where Ellen's focused on one note and exploring it's facets and expanding upon a singular idea. Nagel is all about marriage and contrast between two materials. Both have a Hermes simplicity but I do see a stylistic difference and Nagel in my unpopular opinion is doing pretty well considering the shoes she fills.

      I totally agree with everything you said pretty much!
      I’m a big fan of what she’s doing as a whole and this perfume was just a great surprise! You should try layering it with the oils from this line. Specially with the Musc Pallida one! SO beautiful!

    "A sh---- ton" Woops! Too funny. This does sound delectable. I was impressed with Nagel's Cedre Sambac so I have little doubt this wouldn't please my senses. 😊

      😂 I am glad I caught myself from finishing the word! lol
      I am quite happy with most of her creations so far I must say, but i know that a lot of people don't feel the same way I do. 😅
      I can't wait to hear your thoughts about it!! 😃

    Terrific review, I didn’t get so much violet on a strip, but now I want to revisit. I love the delicate balance in Galop and hope I find it here!

      This one needs skin for sure! But it behaved quite different on my husband's skin though. On him the leather was stronger than on me.
      Thanks for watching!! :D

    Hello!
    fantastic story about Volynka, I had been wondering what the name was about.
    it had occurred to me that this one might smell a little bit like Fahrenheit but it doesn't sound like it 🤔

    • @sebastianfurtado3740
      @sebastianfurtado3740  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Mr. Duck! 😃
      Yeah.. I definitely don't get Fahrenheit from this one. It's quite different from it. Cuir d'Ange is indeed the only one that comes to my mind when i smell it.

    The closest Hermès boutique is 4 hours drive away so not sure when I'll be able to smell this. I love that you love it! Great review.

      OOH you're lucky!! I drove 7 hours to get this! lol
      That's how close the nearest Hermès boutique is to me. 🥲
      Hermès has been solid this year! First was Eau du Basilic Pourpre that was a huge love for me as well, then this beauty THEN next one that's coming out next month which I am VERY excited about as well, Cabriole! That one is for kids but I'm al over it already! LOL
      It has a beautiful Honeysuckle note that's supported by Sandalwood and Osmanthus! Love it!!!

    Glad you liked it, there were some meh reviews on Fragrantica, but you can never tell if they even sampled the scent or merely dislike Christine Nagel, or Hermes. It sounds a bit like Jolie Madame ( Balmain ) or maybe Arsene Lupin Dandy. But then again, it didn't smell like the frags you were expecting it to either. I seen to remember another ancient shipment of topnotch hides being recovered from the North sea back in the late eighties. I believe John Lobb purchased the lot for their uber-pricey shoes. Great review as always, this one is definitely on my radar.

    • @sebastianfurtado3740
      @sebastianfurtado3740  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh yes.. I don't normally take what's on fragrantica into consideration, especially when it comes to comparisons to other perfumes! I love it for amusement purposes mostly. 😆
      I have a sample of Jolie Madame somewhere which i should find sometime to compare it to but it doesn't make me think of Arsene Lupin. I find ALD to lean more in the lines of a classically masculine perfume when this isn't that vibe at all.
      The only one that comes to mind indeed when I smell this is Cuir d'Ange.
      John Lobb was bought by Hermès if I am not mistaken! Another link there... LOL
      Thank you for watching!! 🥰

    Hi Sebastian, how would you rate the performance? Longevity? Sillage?

    • @sebastianfurtado3740
      @sebastianfurtado3740  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Muntu. :)
      Judging by the amount of sprays my husband and I use each time we wear it, the longevity is long 7/8 hours but stays on clothes for much longer than that and the sillage is of about 3ft for about 2 hours after spraying then it starts becoming skin scent. :)
      But we wear quite a bit each time.. about 10 sprays easily 🙈

    Wow! Very interesting how subjective this all is! I wanted to love it. Both my husband and I immediately and separately disliked it. It smells more musky to both of us than it seems to to most others. Or maybe it's more like a smoky note we are getting that is just too much. I felt almost like I needed to take a second shower when I tried to wear it one day. I smelled like a small room that needed to be aired out....that's the only way I can describe it. Anyone tried layering this one with something else? I'd like to try doing that before totally giving up on it

      I completely understand your experience.
      I’ve experienced something just like that with a former coworker of mine, I had brought Iris Ganache and Shalimar for her to try and Iris ganache became something COMPLETELY different on her. We both smelled it on her and our reactions were the same. “What is that!?!?”
      She had to wash it off right away. But Shalimar was something else.. it blossomed on her skin like I had never smelled before. Just gorgeous! She ended up buying a bottle of Shalimar but I’ll never forget how Iris Ganache behaved on her skin. Shalimar as well for that matter!
      Skin does actually influence more than most of us give it credit.

      That’s a hard one! But if you enjoy CDA, I’d say keep it until you try VV because they are quite different. I only used CDA as reference because that’s the only perfume I know I could find any resemblances with.
      I find they’re both beautiful in very unique ways.

    I wonder, will Hermes run out of colors for the caps of their new hermessance releases? this fragrance bottle reminds me of iris ukiyoe

    • @sebastianfurtado3740
      @sebastianfurtado3740  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It does remind of IU indeed, but when you see them up close, they’re quite different. I am biased though because I do love both colors 😂
