To all the people saying Courtney isn’t funny, I just have to say that, as an improvisor myself, I can wholeheartedly relate to her struggle. No matter how trained you are, people have off days. You could be so “on it” during a rehearsal, but when you get onstage, something happens that you have no real control over and your jokes just don’t land. The fact that she said “why do I keep crying” really hit close to home as someone who has really struggled with confidence in improv (I’ve said that a ton during rehearsals). Especially when you’re already bombing, it can be really hard to get it together on an off day. I appreciate her continuing to try, even if it’s really hard for her. She’s been really funny in other videos, which only cements in my mind that she was just off this time. I get that she wasn’t that great in this video, but it’s not her fault. Sorry for the rant, I just wanted to put my feelings out there ✨
I think it's fine to want to defend her but composure is learned with practice. I would expect her to improve the more they do this as it gives her not only a familiar crowd to work with but props and time to really get creative. To me, and I don't know her so it's nothing personal, she seems too out of her comfort zone, making her unfunny, and it seems that she was very uncomfortable with Ian and Gus, as for both her body naturally was repulsed by them. Her little 'dude' towards Ian was clearly a cold one, but I could be reading into too much. The other video I saw of her she seemed to be the type to want to please, it's nothing bad of course that's lovely that she tries. Comedy doesn't lend itself to that however. It makes her more of a Jimmy Kimmel than Rowen Atkinson

I love that Shane and Ian are so competitive with Gus, trying to get him to laugh. It shows that they're actually friends and they have a genuine love for Improv. The show doesn't keep track of points but they all love competing with each other and appreciating clever bits. Shane, Ian, Damien, Courtney, and Mari (when she comes on) are all close friends, and Gus is a friendly acquaintance.
