I’m still a big Hostess fan, love Twinkies & cupcakes.
My dad worked for May Company for 30 years which was bought out by Kaufman’s and now Macy’s. He was a delivery driver delivering large items like TVs, bed sets and other furniture, and appliances. The fleet they used and he drove every day until he retired in 1990 were these exact Ford 600 cab-overs!!! I already have this kit on order and will be painting it the old May Company colors of tan with the brown and orange May Co logo on the side of the van. His birthday is in July this will be a great birthday present for him!! Thanks so much for showing this Chris!!!

This truck came in the mail Sunday and i didn't order it but somehow I must have tap on it when I was ordering the 20"con trailer. Great build! You gave it an even more worn look by painting the back deck with the box, as opposed to painting it with the lift gate parts. I love it. Fleet truck from Hostess, looks the part. Subtle wear and tear brings a model into reality. Love your builds! Thank you Model Roundup!

Bonus points is you make the brake squeal and double clutching gear changes.
Oh, I fly the planes. Each part as a matter of fact. Cars get the rev up sound. Almost like clearing your throat. I have my rituals that smack of play. GTAV video game is glorified matchboxes. Aircraft engine start up, etc.

A really great model kit build video! I found three of these at my local Hobbytown USA, yesterday and I was tempted to buy one along with AMT’s 1/25 1923 Ford Model T Coca Cola truck. Thank you for the building and painting tips as well, now I have to buy one!

Take a spare chrome sprue....put it in a container of DRAINO...yes for pipe clogs. It strips chrome off in minutes and does no harm to the plastic. I just did it with a 40 year old ford courier model AND recent bought GMC plow pickup from revell to paint it in army camo. Works like a charm.

I have this truck in the Pepsi-Cola reissue so it's good to see you build this one. I also have the Ford Louisville conventional Coca-Cola truck to go with it. I wonder if it will be reissued in another version. Finding the time to build them all, that's another story.
Yeah if they reissue that Louisville cab in new livery I hope to build it.
They really did over do it with the amount of chrome in this kit.

Looks pretty good. Took you 10 hours; it would take me 10 months! I've never seen chrome cast spokes on any truck.

They do make a stake bed version it's a nice model.
I just got my hobby knife in my thumb.... Ouch
But my 1984 matchbox chopper is now in pieces so I can paint strip it in oven cleaner.
And then I can do the kit justice.
But on the bright side I got to see what red would like like on that kit

The only issue I have with this kit is they didn't use Captain Cupcake or Twinkie the Kid on the decals! Maybe the aftermarket will supply them. These are always great kits. I love what AMT has been doing lately.

Awesome vid and build as always. I'm building this kit and was wondering if you have any tips on applying the decals to the box. Should I do a gloss clear coat first? I have Mark Fit Strong, is that good enough or do you recommend another product?

I wasn't able to find one so I had to settle for the ding dong in the last shot.
Very nice job. I have a question however. Do you scrape off the chrome where you have to apply glue? I've been doing these kits for years and I found that the chrome parts tend to fall off if the gluing surface is not scraped.
Depends, if the part goes on after paint, then I just use CA glue to attach it. If I am going to paint over the chrome part I'll usually scrape off the chrome on the back side so I can use model glue and attach it.

No idea, but my friend Gary has the Napa edition and the decals look awesome.
This is making me hungry for twinkies and Zingers for dessert!.I should build up this kit in the distant future and store some twinkies,cakes,brownies,and zingers in the box body until after dinner.For those who has a soldering iron/hot knife,some LEDs,shrink tubing,flux;and 60% tin 40% lead & mercury free rosin core solder,some wires,a remote control,a c-channel programmer;programming software,a desktop or a laptop computer,they can light up this kit.
