- Alley Cat song cover played on a Yamaha Piano with orchestra background. Written by Bent Fabric "Fabricus" of Denmark. Mixed and recorded by Steve Farley of Piano and Orchestra Music. Steve produces his own background music, one instrument at a time, then plays his Yamaha C7 along to it.
I'm from Mexico, and this song plays in all those icecream cars around the city!!!!! Those cheap but delicius icecreams!!!!!! This is my childhood's tune and after 27 year i find out the real name of the song!!! Thanks dude!!!!!!!!!!!
En mi pueblo nomas había uno y ponía esta canción cuando salía a vender, todavía la sigue usando.
This was my late father's favorite song and whenever he entered a piano bar, he'd have the pianist play it for him. It got where whenever he entered a piano bar if the pianist recognized my dad, he or she would automatically start playing the song - Thank you, great rendition
You can have a bar pianist do that song for you. We are in position to keep this song alive. As a washboard player, I would love to accompany a bar pianist with cat scratch washboard strokes.
It was my Dad’s favorite too. He tried to learn to play. The joke was that he went through 3 teachers, one being his sister-in-law and didn’t learn.
R.I.P. This is the only song I ever saw my parents dance too. It was their party song. Thank you.🙂
My late father played this song frequently when I was growing up. It's a really fond memory I have of him.
This was always my request as a 7 year old to my piano teacher at the end of my lesson. It always made me so happy. I'm 65, and I still get a kick out of the song.
I learned to play this as a kid. My piano teacher used to play if for me too. Loved it.
like hearing the cat meow.
The composer, Bent Fabricius Bjerre, died a few days ago, at the age of 95.
I've noticed composers have long lives.
Thanks for putting a smile on my face. I remember my mother playing a rendition similar to this. Thanks again . The green chilie
Thanks , my Grandfather was Albert Greene, this was the favorite tune he played for me on the piano. He was friend of Glenn Gray.
Been looking for this tune quite some time, You played it well, and special pleasure of the 2 cat meows. Haven't heard this played since 1969 or 1970. All the best to you.

WOW IS SO COOL AND GOOD
Thank you for bringing that to my attention. I knew he was from Denmark. Steve
There's a certain magic to the simplicity of Alley Cat the way Bent Fabric meant it to be played. The magic is gone in an attempt to show technical proficiency.
Not sure if I totally agree with you, but point taken
Best arrangement other than "Bent Fabric" although he is definitely NOT from Norway! He is danish:D We are very proud of him....!
Thank you for the nice comment. It is appreciated.

You are a good pianist, but this song is truly atrocious
me - what makes it atrocious? just genuinely curious here
Couldn't agree more. This is truly on the 'worst of all time' list.
