Lads and ladies, ive just been respooling and i thought id run some tests regarding line reducers. Im surprised with the results! 0.30 dia line - 6000 line reducer, 117 wraps, 468yards .30 dia line - 3500 line reducer, 90 wraps, 360yards .32 dia line - 3500 line reducer, 70 wraps, 280 yards The .32 dia line is shimano technium invisitec in 12lb
Hi everyone, just spooled Korda carp line ( 0.40 ) onto my 3 ultegra 14000, used 10000 spoil reducers. 1000 meters will not do 3 reels, you need to buy 2 1000 meter spoils of line to fill 3 reels. Hope this helps.
I've got 0.34 line to put on these reels mate so if I use 6000 reducers that will give me 300 or so metres on each? I've got a 1200m spool of line so is there smaller spacers I can use to get 400 mtres on each spool?
Unfortunately you're stuck with the 6000 reducers and some left over line. I've encountered this problem, I now use 0.35 and wouldn't go any thinner due to using 4oz leads without shock leaders. This now leaves me with no wastage once 3 reels are spooled up.
Yes you should easily get over 300 yards per spool but I'd advise counting on the turns. 280 turns equates to 308 metres which is approx 337 yards. By doing this you'll be able to put the same amount of line on each reel. Sorry if that sounds obvious or condescending.
like the video mate, I would personally fill the spools more with line as the line beds in tighter after use, what diameter line were you spoiling on.....?
Looks to me like theres different washers in both reels. One spool has gone on coned one way and the other has gone on t Coned the opposite way. If the line lay was the same you would prob be ok
Hi to you, great video by the way. can you please advise me, i have just purchased 2 XTD 14000 reels like yours. can you please say how many meters of line right up to the lip i can get on with the large spacers to save me putting on a whole spindle of line. Thanks for any advice Dave
2019 and this is still extremely usefull .. thanks sir !!

So the 3500 reducer will do the work for 3 reels?
@@BivvyLife on big you mean 3500?because we have 10000 and 3500 reducers
Btw i am using 0.38 line
@@BivvyLife thnx man!
Cheers from croatia!!
Always buy 3 identical spools and use one or real that gives you a definite respool for each next time around
Cheers 👍
No problem 👍

Thank you for the video. It helped me 👌👍👍
6000 reducers with .31 - .35 line will do 3 reels with a 1000m (ish) spool 333Mtrs on each 👌

Okay mate sound so if I use the 6000 spacers it will give me about 300 metres of line? Thats more than enough for me Tbh

No that's great mate thanks for your help numbers and maths blows my mind lol 😂 thanks bud
Do you have to use the reducers does it make any difference or just means you have to pay for less line??
They pack out the spool to save you using backing line, it really is that simple. Saves you cash, what's not to like 😀

You get spare washers in the boxes to make them spoil the same.
hi do u no how many washer for even line fill I have 3 on mine and its conned thick at the drag (top) and thin at the bottom
What size reducer did you use? was it the 10000
What are those reducers for?
To minimise how much line is required. They do away with the need for backing line.

That's fine Steve i will use the large reducer and will be happy with 200 meters on one of the spools. Thanks kindly for your reply
