I'm not putting anyone down for buying the advertised belts, but I learned a long time ago (45 years) as a rookie officer to be careful of what I "needed".

If you have a squeaky leather holster, you can put a bit of talcum powder inside the holster and shake it around with the openings covered, shake the excess powder out and wipe it down really well. I have used it to make saddles stop squeaking.

Thanks Matt, Im kind of a portly guy, I need to ware suspenders that don't stretch with a good belt. with a 1911 or Beretta I use a set of Perry's or Dickies these suspenders don't stretch to much but will give after time so allow for that. Perrys hook to your belt, front and center back you will like these allot! you have my subscription and a big thumbs up thank you for your time here!

I wear a white beater tshirt, a T-shirt that’s one size up from what I could wear without a gun and I throw a sleeveless button down on top of it. It’s not too hot I live in a very humid environment and it works very well. I just bought a Glock 17 the other day and was in a grocery store dressed just like this, another customer was open carrying and as I was leaving the store a couple of the workers were talking about the guy open carrying. So apparently I must be doing something right plus I try not to stay in the store any longer than I have to. Thank you for the video

    I edc a full size
But I always carry my snubnose revolver as an “ankle gun”(not on my ankle but it’s for emergencies like gun jam or im grappling with someone)
When I’m at work I keep my full size in an inside jacket pocket so I can easily reach it but mainly just keep my snub on me while I’m working bc it’s so small
I suggest getting 2 handguns one super small and one full size

Speaking for myself, as much as I want to own a Glock 19 and Walther P99, the reason why I can't is because I have big hands. I've held both pistols before. When I eject and re-insert the magazine in both guns, the bottom of the magazine makes contact with the meat of my hand. I'm afraid that I may injury my hand, if I ever had to do an emergency reload. I'm good with a full size pistol and an IWB holster. I'm currently looking into an Urban Carry holster for my 1911.

3 guns S&W .380 ACP Bodyguard for summer carry with very light clothing. Sig P365X 9mm for some summer and spring. Springfield Ronin 1911 Commander 9mm for all else. Sometimes specific clothing will dictate carry option. For example tucked in button down shirt no jacket for dress casual = pocket holster and the .380. Suit & Tie (rare) where jacket stays on =Sig. Jeans, khakis and t+ overshirt = 1911

@@wbwills2 I cannot speak for Matt but my best guess is his old kydex holsters were of lesser build quality so they were a bit rough around the edges, or perhaps a pit bulky with odd corners that would stick into him, while Vedder and other brands that make the holster as slim as possible to fit the gun and polish the edges of the kydex so that nothing’s poking you are more comfortable than what you might buy on eBay or a store.

I usually carry a Kahr CW9 but depending where I’m going and the season I sometimes carry a Government size 1911(mostly a home defense pistol) or a Browning Hi Power. The Hi Power is easy to carry conceal in an IWB holster due to its thin slide and shorter length grip. It probably weighs about the same as a Commander size 1911.

Hi Matt, I’m a fairly new subscriber to your channel. I’ve decided that I want to transition my edc from my Glock 19 to my 1911 a1. The only thing that is holding me back is a lack of a suitable holster for my 1911. You mentioned in your video the leather holster that you have, you really liked it. Do you still recommend that one and are there others that you would recommend? I am looking for an iwb, leather model, within my $50-75 budget. Thank you.

  • @catwhispurrer137
    @catwhispurrer137 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

Many good and interesting points. But, I can only see more reasons not to conceal carry, especially during the summertime. It gets up to well over 100 degrees here and an undershirt would be too uncomfortable and stifling. I already wear good, thick belts, but I like the kinds that allow me to change the buckles. Vertical carry shoulder holsters work well in the winter. I would consider a compact pistol, but even subcompacts feel small in my oversized hands, which is why I'm considering a full-sized pistol.
Larger pants or shorts...save money, if you're a little overweight, exercise and lose some weight, you'll be glad you did. Maybe a Kydex belly band would be better for summertime concealed carry to protect your body from chafing against the grip. Help or suggestions would be appreciated, just be polite, please.

Good video. I tried the one size up bigger pants thing and it just didn't seem to work for me. It felt like with all that extra room in the waist, my pants weren't as supported by the belt. And my whole waistline wasn't as uniform. I found the gun shifting and sagging too much no matter how much I adjusted or tightened the belt. Maybe it was just the pants. But I don't have that probelm with my normal size pants. I carry a Glock20, a fairly big gun. I carry using a Vedder lighttuck and a ratcheting gunbelt.

Some people just don't like large framed heavy pistols. Like the 1911 or the 92fs Beretta. I carried a 1911 for a decade-and-a-half. I've got six or seven of them in my gun safe you could say I have an addiction problem. Recently I switched to the 92fs. Full frame. Full size. I like having heavy all solid metal pistols on my person. I know it's there I feel it all the time. I don't carry iwb either I always carry owb.
The gentleman in the video is not the only one that carries when he's at his house. On my days off I do the same thing I do it every single day without fail I get up I take that leak in the morning I get dressed I pants go on my belt my pistol 1 mag in the well.. two more on my person. Doesn't matter if I'm doing nothing all day but lounging with my daughters or if I'm at work or whatever. Because honestly you never know when the ships going to hit the fan. Every single person that's ever been involved in the mass shooting as a victim you know they didn't wake up that day thinking well my grocery shopping just right cuz there's going to be a mass shooting at this time and place. Nobody knows. And home invasions they are also on The uptick tragically. Anyway back on point here...
The 1911 and the 92fs are relatively long. Now the 1911 is I think about 1 in or just under one inch wide at its widest point it's a very slim firearm but it's about 3 lb loaded. Carrying that thing inside the waistband.. very uncomfortable to sit down with.
Same with the 92fs Beretta. Some people might ask what how the hell are you going to carry a full-sized firearm like the ones you've mentioned... Owb but concealed all the time? I'm going to tell you how right now...
I have a Blackhawk CQC serpa locking holster. I wear it very very very tightly to my hip at either the three position or the 4 position. The way that I dress consist typically of blue jeans work boots a T-shirt and then a button-up shirt just not buttoned-up or tucked in. And when the pistol is at the 4 position you can't see it and I don't print very much either.
Everybody's got their particulars though. I think whatever firearm you're carrying... It doesn't matter what it is it doesn't matter what it's made of it doesn't matter what caliber it is... What matters is that you are comfortable with it what matters is that you are proficient with it.
Not a bad video it was very well-thought-out and presented. Stay safe out there, keep carrying and God bless 🙏🙏🙏

I consider the Glock 19 to be a full size firearm

I carry a CZ P07 & it carries the same as my old Glock 17. So I agree.

But why would anyone want to carry a full size pistol. Move on,full size guns are obsolete. You want to bet. Give me your reasons why you carry full size guns.

Police & other law enforcement agencies still carry full size pistols. The longer the barrel full size the greater the velocity and greater expansion!! Longer full size barrel means greater accuracy!!! Now you got two really good reasons to carry a full size pistol.

      I'll take your bet.
Some of us have carried them professionally and trained extensively for years if not decades. Also, some full size conceal easier than the short stubby thick Glock 26's 27's and double stack models. I'll take your bet. There's a good reason that we're still talking about and carrying a 1911 one hundred and twelve (yes, 112) YEARS later. Think your whatever will still be "relevant?"
