Ah, a piece of Monon still rolling I see. I thought Monon was long gone until I found this video. Thank you for filming this! This comment was made by a Monon fan
@@WindyCityExpeditionist I believe that's because a lot of early diesel engines including this one here wore Leslie A200s back in their haydays, it's so rare to hear those horns again in the present day after several years of being dormant, I hope to hear more of them in the near future
I was a volunteer at KRM back in the early 90's.learned alot from guys like paul denny and alan Brown.a lot has changed there since then.Does anyone know if paul and alan are still living?
So is 32 just for special occasions now? It seems that even though it looks like it's back up and running they haven't been using it so much (granted not many people are filming the daily services either).
Yes, it is one of the very few surviving original Monon locomotives. It is also only one of 7 BL-2's left and only one of 3 (I believe, this number may've changed in recent times) still operational
#1100 went to the Kentucky steam heritage corporation in Ravenna Ky who are also restoring C&O 2716 to operation which there are leasing from the Kentucky railroad museum.
That is too cool, I live close to old monon tracks. I want to make a trip down there
