This song has alot of meaning to everyone, but as a final fantasy fan. Growing up, we have to appreciate the efforts of these artists and what they have accomplish. We are all just in the same journey
FFVIII was my introduction to the series when it first came out all these many years ago. And seeing this again, man I got chocked up. This game was my childhood. So many great memories I’d give anything to get back. Wasn’t just a game; was a bookmark in time.
@@wanglo83 I think we as people always feel the need to always compare. I know many dislike Final Fantasy XV and their reason is because it’s not as good as the older FF games (people say the same thing about the newer Star Wars movies, comparing them to the originals.) I like to enjoy and appreciate things 😃
This lady has a beautiful voice and all but it just doesnt go with this song. It just doesnt bring you to tears like Faye Wong does where its like a song with a shy girl whispering her love. The lady belching it out just doesnt fit this song and ruins the immersion. The one responsible for saying Faye Wong needs to be the one singing this song is a genius.
Everyone saying that her not being Ms. Wong makes it sound bad, but I disagree. It isnt good because of multiple reasons. 1. Constantly gets ahead of or behide the orchestra (aka. Out of beat) 2. She is sluring her words (maybe its the video quality, but she sounds like she is saying "with that loo-on yer face) 3. She is practically screaming, no one likes a screamer... Edit: 4. I also noticed that she has what I have dubbed "baseball national anthem syndrome." Basically, she sings with constant pitch changes to sound "unique."
Sorry but Faye Wong’s rendition offer a softer, more emotional and delicate touch to the song which matches Julia and Laguna’s relationship better. This lady is a good singer no doubt but this song does not suit her strong, powerful voice as it’s not meant to be sang that way.
This a great performance. It's one thing to be upset it isn't Faye, but if you think this performance isn't good, you just don't know anything about singing.
the singer keep forget the lyric and didnt deep on the music (no intonation, feeling, etc), and instrumental played like has no soul, sometimes scene doesnt enter the music well. only some moment at the last, scene and music combined well
I hope that i'm not only one who thinks that this is even better than original. Honestly. And I'm saying it as someone who love original with all heart and soul😃.

I started with ff3, then played all of them after. And yes, nosgistic when you are there to hear all the music from every game. Worth the experience.
Riona's smile is just EVERYTHING....
it's hard to not smile and then start crying to this...
I think Faye Wong is the best version of this song!
I agree
Te amo final fantasy viii
SO NOSTALGIC !
Faye wong fan here. But many of people here who don’t know singing have the most terrible comments. She sings amazingly well in fact.
This song makes me cry every time!!
me too T_T
Faye Wong's timbre is rare
I get this is a different singer, and therefore she sounds different. But I really loved her performance for this song. I think she did a great job.
Right, they can't bring every original singers to every concert.. she did her best.

Only Faye Wong can sing this masterpiece .sorry lady 😖
that's right~
I heard the first note she sang, my ears! ...had to pause the video right away lol
Even Faye Wong had problem with this song on her concerts😶 It's really hard song to sing.
FUJIN : AGREE
Get it squall . The juice is worth the squeeze!!!
I know this comment is 10 years later but I think the vocal artist did well. She is not Ms. Wong. Of course she won't sound the same.
I think she did even better. It was amazing.
Leave it to Faye Wong

The lady can sing, but emotionally it doesn't fit. It sounds like a Disney song, not enough longing.
I have a theory that this song is a song written by julia for laguna it totally fit's

By "screaming" you mean belting the notes?
I guess her voice is too brassy for purists, but to each his own I guess.
nice!
Faye Wong or nothing!
it feels ,...not right
She soulds better live than on the game (dont get me wrong, sounded great on the game too)...😁

where is faye wong?
She was too expensive😂
i love this song (eyes on me) but this performance is so ...... not so good
This a great performance. It's one thing to be upset it isn't Faye, but if you think this performance isn't good, you just don't know anything about singing.

The nostalgia
feels not right , voice too strong for this song , this song only belong faye wong
not Faye
Emotional Damage
I hope that i'm not only one who thinks that this is even better than original. Honestly. And I'm saying it as someone who love original with all heart and soul😃.
Not as delicate as the original singer。
Her vocals don't fit the song. She's singing it like a disney song 😅 can't really blame her though. This song was made for faye wong
. Emotion not right , no..
she is screaming, not singing. i want my Faye back!
more like a disney than final fantasy
too strong for voice
Charlie Zhou Shen version is very good
Got immedietly uninterested once I saw someone else from Faye Wong
im not feeling this she ruin the song
Bad voice..
Why still keep singing with that kind of voice?
Woah, Chill out, mate.
She's a stronger singer but my days she's trying to be too edgy
You have no idea what edgy means.
Wth that girl ruined this beatiful song 😢
Bring Sam Smith he could do better
Leave it to Faye Wong
