Great little haul and must feel like you've found a treasure having all those retired sets and GWPs and Legoland exclusives in the same store. I would've bought the same sets as you I think.
Weird, in Oberhausen DE, Scheveningen NL and apparently Birmingham Uk, there is a Sealife almost next to the Lego Discovery Centre. That can't be a coincidence 🤔
No way?! As if you were literally down the road from me! I live literally about a 10-minute walk from the Discovery Centre! But anyway, let's see what you picked up, eh? I'm at the Harry Potter part as I type, but I digress. 😂
@@langserv I remember I first moved to the south coast back in 2011. I was at work and a colleague said she was going 'up north' for the weekend. I asked where abouts, and she said 'Oxford' 🙄🤣
Good haul. Shame they didn't have loads of kiosks for you. I wanted to go to Birmingham in the 1980s to go to the Rum Runner Club. I finally went there (Birmingham) in 2005, but that was for work. And the club was closed.
Thanks Iain. Where can I buy Lego polybag sets? Used to get them in Tesco but they don’t seem to sell Lego anymore now that the Entertainer does their toys.
I’m not a fan of the new paper polybags, I think they look like they are knockoffs. I think the trouble is that it looks like they used the same sized printing as they do on the normal polybags, so where there are clear parts to the normal polybags these paper ones have just white borders which make it look like someone just copied it onto a sheet of paper. If they did them full colour like the paper bags you get on the Lego Magazine I think they would look better.
I thought youd be in birmingham for the brick event at the NEC. Im going to the discovery centre mext weekend so its given me an idea of what to look out for
@ I’m normally a frequent visiter to Birmingham for the lego store as it’s my local and I love visiting the discovery centre shop it would have been nice to have meet you in person I was at the NBE in Birmingham today it was a good day
@@carlfallows8369 Unfortunately I wasn't aware the NBE in Birmingham was on until the beginning of the week and had already made other plans for the day.
Great video Ian Thankyou. Some good GEPs too.
Hope you had a relaxing weekend away.
Matt from Dorset
Thanks Matt. Yes, it was good to get a few more promo sets

Yes, it was nice to see so many of the recent gwps available to buy.
Great unique haul, liking the sets … might have to pop up there myself being it’s only an hour away!! 👍
It's definitely worth a trip - only downside is that I park at the Q-Park Brindley Place, which cost £2.80 for up to an hour unfortunately.
@ Small price to pay for good LEGO sets!! 😂
Wonderful haul, the animal crossing paper bag looks great, I'll need to keep watch for that to come out ❤
Thank you. I'm trying to collect all of the Animal Crossing minifigures so was really please to see that available to buy.
@iainsbricks so am I. They're very cute 😄
Always check your receipt in store, Iain!
I will do from now on!

I guess that it makes sense to have entertainment areas close to each other.

Not far away at all. Apologies for my lame attempt at a Brummie accent 😅
I will be in Birmingham next month so I will definately check it out. Thx for the tip.
No problem. Always worth a visit if you are in the area
Welcome to the North, Iain!
Nah! Being from Newcastle Upon Tyne originally, I can confirm Birmingham is nowhere near the north. It has a distinct West Midlands vibe going on!
Haha, I was joking, as some people from the South might consider Brum as "the North" 😆
@@langserv I remember I first moved to the south coast back in 2011. I was at work and a colleague said she was going 'up north' for the weekend. I asked where abouts, and she said 'Oxford' 🙄🤣
Haha, it may even have been you telling that story in a video, that I remembered! 🤣
Always a great day when you upload Iain 🎉
Thanks for watching Jai
Hi Iain, will you be attending Bournemouth brick festival in March?
Yes, I will be there
Thank you for the content!
Thank you for watching

Yes, shame there was only one.
First time I ever went to Birmingham was 1985. It's changed a lot since then.
1:21: "Down to £12.60, that's not a bad price for that little set there.." - it sounds like you've been watching too much Brick Bargains! 😅
Lol! I'm stealing catchphrases now!
Congratulations
Thanks Charlotte
Its always gray here in Brum, you should have popped over the brick event at the NCC today while here
Lol. Now even I know that's not true. The sun does come out sometime. Unfortunately I didn't have time to visit the NBE in Birmingham today
@@iainsbricksnice haul, don't visit the legoland shop enough
Hi Iain - The LegoLand driving school cars retired in December 2024! :)
Ah, that's why they have now gone up in price on the aftermarket
Did you get any Insider points?
Yes, you get insiders points like any normal Lego store now.
Hi Iain - you missed the best deal, which was the Santa Polybag for £5. These typically go for £10+ before xmas 4:22
Ah well. Never mind.
Thanks Iain. Where can I buy Lego polybag sets? Used to get them in Tesco but they don’t seem to sell Lego anymore now that the Entertainer does their toys.
Not sure I'm afraid. I normally only manage to get the ones that Lego give away as gwp.

I know what you mean. I'm sure they will be tweaking how they look in the future

I didn't realise the NBE event was on in Birmingham until last week and I'd already made other plans .
Did you have to pay to get in?
Not to go into the shop
When does the Birmingham brick Festival pretty busy £800 on Lego sets
Not sure when the Brick Festival is on.
Who is Birmingham ncc brick Festival
Do you have to pay to enter? There is a new LegoLand set 40810. Did they have it and do they give exclusive bricks like LegoLand theme parks?
You don't pay to enter the shop but you do if you are doing the actual discovery centre part. If that makes sense
So the shop and the Discovery centre have separate entrances. The shop is free to enter. Not sure if they give out exclusive bricks I'm afraid
Did you go visit the Lego store in the bullring as well
No - unfortunately I didn't have time. They were doing a make and take as well apparently, so I missed out. 😔

I think you'll find that LEGO now owns Merlin.
