Kia Sorento 2021 review: S petrol - Does this base model seven seater SUV appeal?

The entry-level grade isn't usually the one you aspire to buy - but in some cases, it might just be the smartest decision you make.
Kate Edwards spent a week with the new base model Kia Sorento 2021 model - the petrol 2WD model, which kicks of the Sorento range at $46,850 (MSRP) - which isn't a lot of money for a car of this calibre.
From its chiselled good looks to its practical body and interior, the Kia Sorento S 2WD petrol is a very impressive family SUV - provided you can keep up with the petrol bill.
But with a seven year warranty and affordable servicing, this is an alternative to the Hyundai Santa Fe, Mazda CX-9 and Toyota Kluger that has a lot going for it.

18.9L/100km has to be a mistake! LOL.
My 1996 Jeep XJ with lift, 31 inch mud tires and the rest would still average 16L/100km around town. Hope Kia didn’t pay top dollar for this ad.

18.9 for full city driving is a real number. I did 17L/100 km with air conditioning all on.

I had one for a recent regional work trip. Had the diesel and excellent on fuel. Quite comfortable to drive. Plenty of space.
