RIP Elizabeth Sladen (Sarah-Jane Smith) - the Doctor's longest-serving assistant/2IC. Your character's feisty nature and bravery set a benchmark for women in UK Sci-Fi 😊
Little did I know at the time that this included The Sweet's "Blockbuster" and Sleazy Glitter's "Rock and Roll" but I still own my 12 inch vinyl copy of this. Tom Baker will always be _"MY"_ doctor.

Actually you are thinking of the original song that the KLF/Timelords/The JAMs used called Rock & Roll Part 2 by Gary (Sad Pedophile) Glitter. Gary did sing with the KLF in versions of this song on the Maxi Single in particular "Gary Joins the JAMs". Just some factual information regarding the song you now hear in sports arenas.... it is not this one!
I'm 68, these days I see as many doctors as months in a year. I recently & actually had an appointment with an Asian doctor named "Who." I didn't even realize the irony at the "time." Then, as I left the medical facility, I passed by his office door. A small white sign had his title & name. Below that was a larger blue sign with the word "TARDIS" in capital letters.
I have been watching the new 2014 version of Dr. Who(TV Series), But this song is an "earworm" of mine from the '80s when I was younger! This should really be the "theme" song!
And it took Peter Capoldis Doctor to say " doctorin' the TARDIS." This song made it to #1 in England in 1988. And then they canceled Doctor Who the next year.
Loved Jon Pertwee and Tom Backer as the Doctor.. Sarah Jane Smith and Leela as his companion and the Master of course Roger Delgado and Anthony Ainley.. Davros and the Daleks best enemy's
I bought the KLF Time Lords 12" after i saw KLF play the song live in at an underground club in 1989 just off Piccadilly Square, London England. I bought the UK Edition, which is/was quite a bit different then the US release. IMHO Doctorin the Tardis is the best Dr. Who song.. period.
I started watching during the end of the 11th Doctor's run and start of the 12th, but I rewatched alot of the Doctor's before 11 and 12 and I have to say The 3rd Doctor will always be my favorite. Jon Pertwee was absolutely brilliant. Also this is a amazing video. Well done.
I've always been a fan of Dr Who. Now i'm about to show my age. I remember the very first episode which scared me just as much as those damn daleks did. Yes. I admit it. I really did hide behind the sofa. Nice video,by the way! Not to mention good music.
Jesus: I thought all my life, that I was the only Freak! When my older brother & Sister watched the show, I wanted them to turn it off! " It scared the hell out of me in the early 60's"! The Daleks freaked me out!!! It took another 20 years to discover what show had scarred my childhood memory, when the show aired once again.
glenn sanders One of my first memories is of the Doctor Who music scaring the shit out of me and hiding in a cupboard when I was 4 years old. Then when I was 15 years old 'Doctorin' The Tardis' by The KLF was the first record I ever bought!
Wow! All of you are veteran-whovians! I love that! I just discovered this show like 3 years ago and i fell in love, i'm trying to see the classic ones now, i hope i will being still fan of the showwhen i become your age like you do 😀
Superb video. There isn't one Doctor who is a favourite of mine, I liked them all. However my all time favourite characters was the First Master Roger Delgado and The Brigadier Nicholas Courtney.
Matt Smith is actually amazing, although he is the youngest actor to the play the Doctor.. Tennant and Smith have really raised the bar... Give the 11th doctor a shot. You will be pleasantly surprised!
well of course the doctor rocks, i remember watching the first episodes as a kid and becoming totally hooked for the next 40 years. tom baker is my fav and i have a copy of his scarf, hat and coat. i still go out every now and then in winter dressed as the doctor and some of the reactions i get when older people see me at a distance is amazing. some even want to get a pic and lots ask where ive parked my tardis. the video you have put together with the 12 inch soundtrack is very well done and an awsome tribute to the show and people who made it what it is.
@drjfh1970 I remember buying the Timelords/KLF Maxi single way way back. Now I only own it digitally, but I listened to the KLF's White Room quite a bit in those years.... I also think it was and still is the best use of the Doctor Who theme music to date...... Yes... I rushed the video up and edited it so many times that I did not see the mistake until you pointed it out, because I had created quite a few versions on my PC.
I bought it on 12 in vinyl in '83 & later when it was released on compact disc. Still have them. They use to play it a lot at a club called 701 South on the beachside here in Daytona Beach Florida, USA on a night they dub "Sunday, Bloody Sunday" , a tribute to U2. The greatest memories of my late teens & early 20's. Your tribute is fabulous!!!
I am glad it stopped there. After Matt Smith, it didn't have the enthusiasm as it used to have. I have not seen a full series of (and including) Peter Capaldi onwards. It just doesn't have the same vibrancy as the others. In my Opinion.
I will always have an affection for Jon Pertwee's Doctor, him being the one I saw first as a kid from 1970. It took me a little while to grow into Tom Baker's portrayal. He at first seemed a little silly with his massive scarf and some strange mannerisms but eventually I got into him. In the 21st century era I would have to split my choice between David Tennant and Peter Capaldi. Both had shades of "classic Who" that I appreciated. My God! I can't believe I'm 56 years old and discussing characters from a show I started watching when I was 8!
I like all the doctors truly a great vid rock on I finally got to watch the dr who movie with peter mcgann and eric Roberts as the master it was pretty awesome
I can understand why you might not be keen on him given that the three previous doctors were more about action and did a lot of action scenes but Capaldi is actually closer to the original idea for the Doctor than Ecclestone, Tennant OR Smith. Remember William Hartnell was quite old when he got the role and played it as the elderly scientist who solved problems with his intellect rather than by running around. In a way you could even say it's appropriate. The Doctor was given a whole new set of regenerations and Capaldi COULD be viewed as a sort of Hartnell v2.0. I would recommend watching the Hartnell and Patrick Troughton episodes for a clearer idea of what Capaldi is actually doing in the role as it's very similar to how both those men played him.
Peter Capaldi is the only actor to have been in an episode and play lead role. Sean Pertwee. Only choice. The writers could have him regenerate into a younger version of himself.
Who will follow Peter Capaldi? I'd love to see Sean Pertwee. He's established himself enough to take the chance. 'Cos I know in my dreams - He's got eh part!!!

"YOU WILL OBEY ME! We obey no one, we are the superior beings!"
It’s WE OBEY THE ONE. As in the leader of the Daleks (not Davros).

As a fellow Timelord, I approve this video & highly recommend it! 🤓
One of the best science fiction shows of all time, many would argue it is the best.
Can you believe this song later ended up in sports arenas everywhere? Obviously the song had in influence.
People are still watching Woody Allen films in the US, and that's incest plus paedophilia for you :)
"This is what KLF is about. Also known as the Justified Ancients of Mu-Mu. Furthermore known as the JAMS".
I want this to be used in the 100th anniversary special!

Mine too. 🤓

Now those are three fun facts for the price of one :O

I thought this was made in the Baker#1 Era since his Era was where doctor who was popular as heck .

Agree. He was the first one I remember, and still my fave.

What was so scary?
Child of the 70's. Tom Baker is the one I remember the most. I was fascinated by the opening sequence with his face in it.
Yes I love the rock and rollers from the England I seen that video one night on TBS back in 1981
of course I also now have the glitter bands rock and roll on my head
mad mark I knew it! This song is a blatant carbon copy of "Rock & Roll" by Gary Glitter. But it is pretty good nonetheless.

My favorite Doctor Who is # 4.
Lael Destan Number 4 was the best. Not even series 18 can alter this fact.
I have to admit that I prefer the video with the cardboard box Daleks and the police car for it's sheer zaniness.

Gary Glitter, The Sweet, Delia Derbyshire, The Daleks. That's all it takes!
