Great video. I checked my diffs and the one was dry with metal shavings. I added grease to both diffs and all portal axles. Also did the tape over the exposed gearbox and redid the steering like you showed. My stats were already had shims so that was good. I’m also going to try adding a second motor. I did mod the chassis to fit 6” figures. Thanks so much for the great tips.

Where did you get your upgrade parts from…I converted the electrics to WPL V3 with proportional sound and working winch…and have done some work on the suspension to get it to sit right. I will do the window mod as that looks great. I did the battery cable when I converted the electrics, it’s a great truck but just needs some work.

Definitely don't use superglue to fix the glazing in place, it tends to leave a foggy mess that usually isn't very easy to fix. Try something like PVA or Poly Cement that's designed to work with plastic, otherwise I shall deffo do some of these adjustments to my P06 when I get mine (just ordered one in green!)

LED headlights: Paint the back of the LEDs silver first ! Then all that wasted light will be reflected forwards, not absorbed !
Tyres: Can the glue be removed for tyre replacement ?
Hi. Good tip! If you use small spots of glue it's not a problem removing the tyres. Just pull them off and use a knife to remove any remaining. 😎👍

Great mods there. I´m going to apply them to my Unimog. I just checked the box and it looks like the Standard version, not Plus... Super disappointed by that. I was hoping to connect all the other lights to the receiver board. :(

Hello, good work! I learnt from another great youtuber that the receiver board has already got slots for front and rear flashing turn lights, as well as for brake lights.
Turning lights flash simply upon turn (left or right), while by keeping pressed the b or c button (can't remember, my mog is still somewhere between china and Italy) you get all of them flashing (hazard lights). Furthermore, brake lights will turn on with a quick move of the gas trigger towards reverse.
Last, but not least, the second servo port is for 2-speed gearbox servo, and can be activated by button c or b (short click)... again can't remember which one.
Have you already tried those additional features?
Yep. They are all for the extras you get with the 'plus' model. But thanks for sharing though. 👍
@@RCModelsandMods My mog has arrived yesterday at my door. It seems they've fixed the steering horn issue, no horn impact both sides now.
Yes, I've seen the "plus" checkbox on the mog box. The good new is that the board seems to already be the "Plus" version, so all the additonal ports are ready and working :)

Do you had also the Problem that the tires touch the foot steps by turning backward while steering turned??
Hi. No I didn't have that. May they fitted the steps to the wrong side? They should angle away from the tire.
What kind of lubricants do you use and recommend?

Metal or plastic/ nylon.
Hi. I use mechanical grease on gears, but silicone diff lube on the diffs as its a bit thicker. No particular brand.

Doesn’t the lube escape through the edges and what weight would you recommend?
It's personal preference really. Like I said. Heavier in the diffs, lighter elsewhere. A good gearbox/diff housing shouldn't leak, but if you put too much in it still might.
How can one put turn lights and brake lights on this model?

hey bro which kit should i buy wpl c44km or MN 86ks.
Ah man. That's a tough question. Both are great. I have a soft spot for the '44, and in fact, I have just bought one. But I would have to go for the '86. But make sure its the KS version though.
@@RCModelsandMods i think c44 has lots if metal parts i guess. plus one more thing which kit will take longer time to build

I have been looking for an alternative to the WL Toys 124301 to use as a basis for a leaf-sprung lorry build. The 124301 has a terribly poor rear propshaft design, and, thoughI have successfully used it once to make a model of a 4WD Austin lorry, I live in fear of snapping my prop. Before I ask my wife to buy me this truck for Christmas I'd like to know whether it has sufficient track width (the 124301 measures 160mm from between tyre centre lines) & wheelbase (I'm looking for around 270mm).
I ask because I know that manufacturers often misrepresent the scale of their models.
Lastly I'd like to say that I hope that manufacturers watch videos like yours and employ them as a shortcut to product improvement.
