BLACKPINK have 4 members, Jennie, Rosé, Lisa, and Jisoo. All 4 of them can sing, dance, play instruments, and write their own songs. Jennie and Lisa (the one with the bangs) are also rappers. Rosé is a Korean born in New Zealand, but grew up in Australia. Jennie is a Korean that grew up in New Zealand. Jisoo is the only Korean member who grew up in South Korea. Lisa is Thai. Now, all of them live together in South Korea. You can't see their full dance choreography in their music videos, but you can see it in their dance practice videos and live performances. Lisa is also the best dancer among them. She also release her own dance videos on her own TH-cam channel, Lilifilm Official. She also did live solo dance performances. She is also an awesome strict and lovable dance mentor.
BLACKPINK have been breaking records after records ever since their debut in 2016. The crazy thing is that they released only mini-album (1-4 songs each) until October 2, 2020 when they released their first full album, THE ALBUM. By the time they release THE ALBUM, they already have 3 music videos with more than a billion views. With THE ALBUM, they have a total of about 21 songs. THE ALBUM was ranked #1 on Gaon (Korean music chart like Billboard), #2 on Billboard 200, Billboard World Album Chart, #1 on Billboard Top Album Sale, #1 and Top 10 in many countries such as UK, Japan, Mexico, Canada, and China. Lovesick Girls, the title track for THE ALBUM, was ranked #2 on US Billboard 200, #1 on Billboard Global Excl. US, #1 on Billboard World Digital Song Sale, #1 and top 10 in many countries such as Malaysia, China, and Singapore. How You Like That, their pre-release single for THE ALBUM, set 5 Guinness World Records. They even got their 3rd PAK (Perfect All Kill) with it. PAK is a term referring to a song that was rank #1 on all of Korean music charts. BLACKPINK officially become the first girl group ever to be ranked #1 on Billboard Artists 100 and #1 on Bloomberg. They already performed at the Coachella in 2019 and their live performance are the highlight performance at that time. They are also currently the most subscribed music group on TH-cam with more than 55 million subscribers. They are also the most followed female music group on Spotify, surpassing Little Mix in 2019. You can learn more about them from their Netflix documentary, BLACKPINK Light Up The Sky. BLACKPINK was recently praised by the Korean president Moon Jaein for the worldwide accomplishments in 2020.
Please, react to BLACKPINK Boombayah and Whistle. These 2 songs are their debut songs released in 2016. While Boombayah is a bigger international hit, they got their first PAK with Whistle, thus making them the first and only K-Pop girl group to achieve this feat with a debut song. Make sure to turn on the caption to see the English subtitle. 😎🙏

If you would like to ge to know BLACKPINK for more than just their music. BLACKPINK they just came out the documentary Light Up the Sky on Netflix. Some things you can react too or watch on your own are very good fan-made documentaries/guides are The Revolution: A Story of BLACKPINK by the Asian Theory, A unhelpful guide to BLACKPINK 2019, a crack guide to BLACKPINK (2020), and BLACKPINK journey and friendship

I can't even express how revolutionary HYLT was when it came out. Blinks (Blackpink fandom) had gone without new music from them for over a year which is a long time in kpop. HYLT was a cultural reset.
I'd also like to recommend "ON Kinetic Manifesto Film" by BTS 🥰

They have a Netflix documentary called 'BLACKPINK: Light Up The Sky' (released in October 2020), which gives you a detailed look at the group.
Note: It doesn't detail everything that they've done.

As far as the meaning to this video it has a lot of Greek/roman mythology in all metaphors about how they went through a difficult times but came out stronger on the other side there are some videos explaining it all in depth

ROSÉ (name rhymes with the Spanish name José, silver hair) Born in New Zealand, moved to Australia before signing.
LISA (rapper with bangs, ALWAYS has bangs) Born and raised in Thailand until signed, she is the first non-Korean signed by her company.

Just as an FYI, HOW YOU LIKE THAT is about coming back from a dark place stronger than before. There are many Greek references in the video, a few examples are: Rosé, with the silver hair in the beginning, is portraying Persephone, Goddess of Vegetation (plants, flowers) and the daughter of Zeus. One day while she was out gathering flowers, Hades, God of the Underworld, abducted her and dragged her down to the Underworld where she was forced to become his wife. The video shows her in her beautiful image, surrounded by flowers, as well as how she became, dirty and grey, staring up at the world through a hole in the Underworld. She was eventually allowed to return to the surface for part of the year, which is why we have Spring and Summer. The winged torso in the hall is thought to represent Nike, the Greek goddess of victory. The Trojan Horses at the end are a message from BLACKPINK to the world. They symbolize the fact that BLACKPINK, like the Greeks, will emerge and take over the global music world. If you look at the last scene you will notice that on the inside of the dome it looks like there's an organic growth over parts of the ceiling. It's actually a map of the world that the group is going to dominate.

    Important notes 💥 :
    - Our fandom called BLINKS/BLINK
    - For an official music video from BLACKPINK's main chanel, please make sure to always turn on the english close caption/CC if you want to get the better understanding to the whole lyrics of their song
    - For their official Music Video/MV, BLACKPINK almost never use any of greenscreen except for one of their old music video called " WHISTLE", so for the rest of their official MVs they always use the real set design
    - Normally you wouldn't really see the overall choreography inside their MV/Music Video, because it's not their signature concept in term of puting some entertainment elements to their music music video. But in fact, their music label normally always make a certain decision to make a BLACKPINK's dance movement's specificly build in one separate official video. If you ever wondering their full dance performance then you could also check their own dance practice/performances which also you can find it in their official youtube channel. You just need to type the song's tittle then after that, add the "dance practice" keyword into it, then boom 🔥🔥🔥 enjoy the smoothness of their practice/performance and let see what you guys think about their whole choregraphy 😀

The name of BLACKPINK is indicated to duality concept. BLACK refering to savage & badass side. PINK refering to cute & girly side.
All BLACKPINK lyric is about FEMINIST. Female empowerment & independent. Most their MV (Music Video) easthetic has symbolisme to the lyric verse. You can watch this reaction to know How You Like That symbolisme here
    th-cam.com/video/EcJJcEkAMbY/w-d-xo.html
You also can react to How You Like That dance performance for next video.

You might enjoy reacting to their dance practice videos and live stage videos. I would recommend Pretty Savage (my favorite from their new album), and Lovesick girls. For older songs, they have many good videos. Forever Young(dance practice or live), Don't Know What to Do, Playing with Fire. The fandom are called Blink's. You might want to do a guide or watch their netflix documentary Blackpink: Light up the Sky. these are just a few suggestion. There is a ton of content to choose from. Thanks for your reaction. Here is a little bit about the girls.
Jennie (Jennie Kim) - Main Rapper, Lead vocals - Born and raised in Korea, moved to New Zealand from age 10-15 to study, moved back to Korea and decided to audition for YG Entertainment and was accepted as a trainee. Speaks Korean, English, Japanese.
Lisa (LaLisa Manoban) - Main Dancer, Lead Rapper, sub vocals - Born and raised in Thailand - Can speak Thai, English, Korean, Japanese, and some Mandarin. Won her audition in Thailand for YG Entertainment, and she moved to Korea as a trainee. (Maknae-Youngest)
Jisoo (Kim Jisoo) - Lead vocals, Visual, sub rapper, she also Acts in a Korean Drama. (Unnie-Oldest) Born and raised in Korea, Speaks Korean, Japanese, Mandarin I think, and some English. She auditioned for YG and was accepted as a trainee.
Rose (Park (Roseanne)Chae-young) - Main Singer(voice of an angel), Lead Dancer. Born in New Zealand, raised in Australia, to Korean parents. She can speak Korean and English, and I think some Japanese. Her father talked her into auditioning when YG was auditioning in Australia. She was the only one accepted and she moved to Korea and became a trainee.
All the girls trained really hard from 4-6 years before they had their debut in 2016. they are the first K-Pop group to play at Coachella (2019), and they are the number one girl group. They are all very talented. Rose also plays guitar and piano, and she's getting ready to debut her solo. Jennie already has a solo and Lisa is supposed to be after Rose, then Jisoo. Lisa also has solo dance performances on her lilifilm youtube. You should check them out. She is an amazing dancer, and while they were trainees, she did all of their choreography for their monthly evaluation performances, because she is really good at it. That's all I have for now. I hope you find this information helpful.

You should react to CHUNG HA song Dream of you. She is a soloist in the Kpop genre but Dream of you is in all English. She didn’t do a music video for the song but the performance video is basically a music video. You could also watch her music video for her song PLAY, Stay tonight, Gotta go, and or Snapping. Those are some of my favourites. 🙃 👍

Welcome and thank you for reacting to our queens from BLACKPINK.. i'll leave you some sort of BLACKPINK's starter packs which exclusively made for you to read/copy paste to your PC note's app. These list below was arranged by the chronological order of the release date to each song (start from 2016 ->>> until the current release):
    1. 1st mini album: SQUARE ONE 2016 (BOOMBAYAH, WHISTLE) this two was their first debut songs after they showcased to the world.
    - BOOMBAYAH (th-cam.com/video/bwmSjveL3Lc/w-d-xo.html)
    - WHISTLE (th-cam.com/video/dISNgvVpWlo/w-d-xo.html)
    2. 2nd mini album: SQUARE TWO 2016 (PLAYING WITH FIRE, STAY)
    - PLAYING WITH FIRE (th-cam.com/video/9pdj4iJD08s/w-d-xo.html)
    - STAY (th-cam.com/video/FzVR_fymZw4/w-d-xo.html)
    3. A Non-Album or i could say it just a single in 2017 (AS IF IT'S YOUR LAST)
    - AS IF IT'S YOUR LAST (th-cam.com/video/Amq-qlqbjYA/w-d-xo.html)
    4. A remix song in 2017 by THE BLACK LABEL called "SO HOT" (YGE as BLACKPINK's main HQ has a sub-unit company named TBL/THE BLACK LABEL). For this particular song i'm not that sure if this counted as BLACKPINK's song or not at all because it's originally sang by other girlgroup named "Wonder Girls". But for me personally these version was better and it's more preferable for a lot of people actually.
    - SO HOT official remix track (th-cam.com/video/eRDe7bOp5uA/w-d-xo.html)
    - SO HOT lyrics: (th-cam.com/video/gxCiq1Bb9PU/w-d-xo.html)
    5. 3rd mini album: SQUARE UP 2018 (DDU-DU-DDU-DU, FOREVER YOUNG, REALLY & SEE YOU LATER) from this 4 songs only "Ddu-Du-Ddu-Du" alone which has an Official MV/Music Video, the rest of 3 songs you could react to them by using "color coded lyrics" from a youtube chanel called JAEGUCHI.
    - DDU-DU-DDU-DU (th-cam.com/video/IHNzOHi8sJs/w-d-xo.html)
    - FOREVER YOUNG (th-cam.com/video/7PrxONon7jg/w-d-xo.html)
    - REALLY (th-cam.com/video/v_6uVOPvQ58/w-d-xo.html)
    - SEE YOU LATER (th-cam.com/video/1-DJHEhxbiI/w-d-xo.html)
    6. A Collaboration with Dua Lipa in 2018 (KISS AND MAKE UP) you can find the non-visual song in Dua Lipa Official youtube chanel.
    - KISS AND MAKE UP official audio (th-cam.com/video/AX3Bsiq-13k/w-d-xo.html)
    - KISS AND MAKE UP lyrics (th-cam.com/video/tVU_mT9QMwE/w-d-xo.html)
    7. JENNIE - SOLO in 2018 (it's the first solo debut by one of BLACKPINK's members, yeah the song's title also literally called SOLO so you dont have to be confused about that 😂
    - JENNIE - SOLO (th-cam.com/video/b73BI9eUkjM/w-d-xo.html)
    8. 4th mini album: KILL THIS LOVE ALBUM 2019 (KILL THIS LOVE, DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO, KICK IT, HOPE NOT) from all of those tracks only "Kill This Love" which has an Official MV/Music Video and for rest of the b-sides tracks you just need the same way as i've been mentioned beforehand which is using color coded lyrics from a verified yt chanel named
    "JAEGUCHI".
    - KILL THIS LOVE (th-cam.com/video/2S24-y0Ij3Y/w-d-xo.html)
    - DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO (th-cam.com/video/ccI9xvR2Ja0/w-d-xo.html)
    - KICK IT (th-cam.com/video/sYUlykDe4as/w-d-xo.html)
    - HOPE NOT (th-cam.com/video/Gk8QQdSrxRo/w-d-xo.html)
    9. A collaboration in 2020 with Lady Gaga in one of her Album called "Chromatica" (SOUR CANDY)
    - SOUR CANDY Offcial Audio (th-cam.com/video/fnPn6At3v28/w-d-xo.html)
    - SOUR CANDY Lyrics (th-cam.com/video/F6hP24HOqfQ/w-d-xo.html)
    10. THE ALBUM, this is pretty much was BLACKPINK first full-lenght album in 2020 after back then 4 years ago they've been showcased as one of the new 3rd-gen Kpop girlgroup. This album incorporate 8 tracks in total which have 3 songs with an Official MV/Music Video (HOW YOU LIKE THAT, ICE CREAM ft. Selena Gomez, LOVESICK GIRLS) and 5 songs with no music video (PRETTY SAVAGE, BET YOU WANNA ft. Cardi B. , CRAZY OVER YOU, LOVE TO HATE ME, YOU NEVER KNOW), for the rest of b-sides which didn't have an official MV like what i've said in earlier you could also use the color coded lyrics but this time i recommending a verified youtube chanel named "LEMORING"
    - HOW YOU LIKE THAT (th-cam.com/video/ioNng23DkIM/w-d-xo.html)
    - ICE CREAM with Selena Gomez (th-cam.com/video/vRXZj0DzXIA/w-d-xo.html)

2:30 Kpop and Krap I would say is a tricky subject. For example blackpink Lisa the rapper she does not write her own lyrics they are given to her by the company and has no background in rap does that make her less of a rapper no but on the other hand you have rappers like Suga and RM from BTS who were under ground rappers before they were in a Kpop group they are also involved in producing and the writing process. In Stray kids you have Changbin he is one of their rappers he is very skilled in rapping and also produces and writes. As you see it's quite complicated you really have to look at each individual member differently. If you would like to see some Korean rap you have Zico bermuda triangle, EUNG FREESTYLE (응프리스타일) or BANG YONGGUK (방용국) - YAMAZAKI of course these are only a few Korean rappers out there please give them a listen :)

So I think you're going to get a lot of different people telling you different things about what this video is about so here is my take on it. To me, this is a girl or girls in an abusive relationship who decides to finally kill her abuser. When Lisa says bada bing bada boom boom boom and puts her hand in the shape of a gun, signifies her shooting him. When she says how do you like that she's looking at him on the ground after shooting him. At the end when Rose' says you should have ended me when you had the chance kinda tells the story. Then, when they say look up in the sky it's a bird it's a plane signifies the police chasing them in a helicopter. Then is when the chase begins and the du du du du du are gunshots. Blackpink signifies a dark and light side. This is obviously their dark side. You will see several videos that are very cute/girly, then some that are dark. They don't have a bad song. Enjoy the ride!!!

2:31 Well these are not K-pop groups (term for us stupid westerners) Koreans call them idol groups and they mix and match every genre how the ever they want. Usually with a more popish sound.. But you will never know what genre you get with idol group song, usually 3-4 different genres in one song. - There is songs that have LOTS of more genres in one song.. You have been warned.
K-rap is it's own genre and it also has it's own underground section that are.. Well. I have my own opinion about it, but it is not very valid as it is more about the personalities and the atmosphere than their actual music.. hm. Sometimes I feel like that underground IS more about their personalities and their teensy-angstic "I wanna be a soo bad gansta!" attitude without being able to take a punch, way more than it is about the music.. Every one needs to make a songs about the same things, so those things all have been already been said.. Also they already have had some kings in there like Suga and RM who probably already made the best verses about those things like.. *sigh*

If you are interested in rapping, crazy videos and interesting choreo, you should check out SuperM's Tiger Inside. I am a huge BTS fan, but stan a lot of other K pop groups. check out Stray Kids God's Menu or Backdoor. And Ateez's Wonderland videos. Mamamoo's Hwasa's Maria is really good as well. Hell, they are all good. Mamamoo and Red Velvet have better vocals if you are interested in girl groups.

Black pink is by far my fav girls band, they are special. I fell for them with their “bumbaya”, watch it, it’s dope. “Kill this love” also. They have only good songs. Lisa rap is.... Jenni has a solo called “solo” really beautiful. We don’t see enough of them....
Another girls band that sounds promising : Itzy, try “not shy not me”
