0:56 "apparently this episode is under arrest" XD Pieguy sure knows how to make interruptions funny.
It's due to background noise while he was recording.
This is a "Meh" episode to me, though I did find many of the jokes and Spongebob's smug obliviousness hilarious. Like the quip from the ushers and Spongebob telling the townspeople in the theater that there was no need to start a riot, only for townspeople to say, "That's a great idea. Let's start a riot!" And they pull pitchforks and torches out of hammerspace.
I also loved this exchange:
Mr. Krabs: "You wouldn't know cool if I locked ya in the freezer!"
Spongebob: "For your information, Squidward has locked me in the freezer, soo I think I know what cool is!"
Mr. Krabs: "Then stop wearing that thing to work!"
Spongebob: "But Mr. Krabs!"
Mr. Krabs: "No buts!"
Spongebob: "So. . . I can't have a wig or a butt?"
Mr. Krabs: "No, Spongebob. It means until you get rid of that wig. . . GET YOUR BUTT OUT OF HERE!" XD
It meh to me too
The ending bit really pissed me off. The fish had to smugly burst spongebob's bubble. That pretty much ruined the whole episode for me. Sometimes I wonder if the writers just enjoy taking the piss.
Also kind of ironic what he says.
When you go back to the old video you can hear police sirens in the background:
"WE HAVE GOTTEN MULTIPLE REPORTS OF SOMEBODY REVIEWING WAY TOO MANY EPISODES OF A KID'S SHOW AT ONCE, COME OUTSIDE WITH YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR!!!"

Also the random MEAN-SPIRITED WARNING pop-up when he said the phrase. I thought he was gonna bring that up in the Spongy Bits review, I don't think he did but I might not have been paying enough attention so...

There was one joke in this episode that I liked:
Mr. Krabbs: you wouldn't know COOL if I locked you in the freezer.

the riot scene is the best scene in this episode because it felt like the citizens of bikini bottom got fed up with spongebob's obliviousness in this episode like i did and calls him out on it

the fish laughing at Spongebob is like a laugh track that you're not laughing along with.
Lol I love the "mean spirited alert" thing. A lot of people hate it and get really offended when people use that term, so that was pretty funny. I think it's completely stupid that people get butthurt when people say it, but that's a discussion for another time.
this episode had potential, it really did. they blew it.
Pieguy is so good at ranting that he made a video about Wigstruck interesting and entertaining.

I know this might be unrelated to the topic at hand, but the video you put up for the Spongy Bits of Wigstruck actually helped me figure out why I don't really like Putting Your Hoof Down all that much. Seriously, some of the things that were talked about like the jokes and the townspeople involved felt almost eye-to-eye to why I thought Putting Your Hoof Down didn't work out all that well as an episode, although I can at least say Wigstruck is kind of more of a meh-ish episode to my eyes.

This episode doesn't bug me.
I would probably call this a "meh" episode. It wasn't anything great but some parts of it were still mildly entertaining to me.
you're right about how boring the episode is but it's much worse than you think. the town is hypocritical and the jokes are horrible. in the terms of the joke it's funny but in reality it doesn't work because they run out of the theater yelling at spongebob and Sandy so the joke doesn't make sense because the two guys were next to the door and I refuse to believe that they didn't hear anything while the people in the theater were running and chasing two other people so that's why I consider it in the top 5 worst spongebob episodes.

Eversince I've first saw the episode, I didn't not like it and for a good reason because of how cruel, depressing, and how unsatisfying it is.
The Needlefish were total douchebags to Ned. First they mock him for the wig, then they throw it out the window, and then _they_ blame _him_ for not having hair.

I think the episode did some creative things with how Spongebob used the wig, what with using it as a mop, and modifying his front door for it, but Pieguy has a point about the emptiness. It would've been a great episode if they had a strong plot as well as just wig gags,, like if Spongebob found the owner's name in the wig and wanted to return it.
yea it wasn't great by any means with it being kinda generic and being pretty boring with similar jokes but it was still a pretty good

I think Ed Edd n Eddy did this theme better where the Eds tried to catch up on trends, and then in the end they started a trend.

What about the part when Patrick was about to take a mustard bath and said "Do you mind?" to SpongeBob
What should’ve happened with this episode is that they should made it about Ned being run out of town by those who laugh at him for his baldness without the wig, and when SpongeBob got it, he ended up being recognized and praised more because of the wig, prompting him to become cocky and leave the Krusty Krab and take Ned’s spot. Then all the torture he got in the episode would feel warranted.
And the Bottom 5 is complete! Is the next Square Theory coming this week too?

I don't know why, but one of the things I like most about Spongebob is the background music, especially in the earlier seasons but the whole show has great music for the most part. In fact, it's so good that I listen to it in my free time. Judge me. I don't care. It's great music. I don't know why I chose to comment this on this video, I just picked a random Spongebob one.
We actually see the characters who make their first appearance in this episode in another episode of Season 8 called:"Hello,Bikini Bottom!".You'll see it when you are working on the Season 8 review.

I always thought the 'told you that movie was terrible' line was from the halitosis episode. It would have fit much better there.

While I get why Mr Krabs was against the wig at first with the hair getting in the food and rightfully calling SpongeBob out on it, the second time he got pissed and told him to never come back until he got rid of it was really douchey becuase it doesnt come off like hes doing it for the quality of the food or for SpongeBobs wellbeing, hes just doing it just to be an ass.
Guess Spongebob in the wig was funny to the characters, but not the audience.

If you wanna know why this episode was so bad, it's because Nickelodeon at the time was VERY trendy! They were kind of based off of stereotypes outside of Avatar. They wanted a jock, a nerd, a cool guy, popular girl, mean girl etc. So the fish overreacting to the wig was just Nick's attempts to stay hip and cool with kids. Understand +PIEGUYRULZ

I really couldn't stand the hypocrisy in this episode. One minute the town fish are being total jerks to SpongeBob for wearing a wig and the next they're wearing wigs because it's popular and fashionable. And I also agree about the subplot in this episode it felt like time filler to me.

I'l admit, there WAS something that bothered me about the teasing in Grandma's Kisses, and that is, well, I'd understand a group of middle-schoolers making fun of someone for getting kissed by their grandma, but surely grown adults like them would have grown out of that a long time ago.

The Bottom 5 list is from his season reviews. As in, it's only including episodes that were all in the same season. Choir Boys was season 6, Wigstruck is season 4, Waiting is season 5, and That Sinking Feeling is season 7. Literally not a single one of these episodes shares a season with another, so they would never be on the same list. It's almost _impressive_ how wrong you are.

I think this episode is REALLY forgettable. All I remembered is the wig's design and the design of Ned (from Ned and the Needlefish). I watched the episode yesterday and then remembered how BAD it was.
This episode is prime example how it is a terrible idea to have all the comedy in you`re cartoon relay on a one note joke that itself is overly dependent on an overplayed character flaw (am I right Penny Foolish,Bummer Vacation,Yours,Mine and Mine,ect.)
