Beautiful improvisation Fr. Mehlhart! I have a question about the original song “O Lumen ecclesiae”, for the lyrics Doctor veritatis, the note on "ri" was marked as note B without any flat sign and in all recordings I have found all the B notes in this entire song were sung as B flat, and as I am learning about the notation of the gregorian chant, I thought the rule was that flat sign effect lasts: (1) to the natural sign following. (2) to the end of a word. (3) to the next sign of subdivision (a quarter. half. or full bar) based on what I read here (media.musicasacra.com/books/basicgregorianchant_1960.pdf) If I understand it correctly, should the B here in the second measure, and all the other places that didn't have a flat sign next to it be sung as B natural instead? Sorry for the lengthy question, and here is where I found the sheet music (gregobase.selapa.net/chant.php?id=4208). Thank you.

Dear Joseph, in the Dominican tradition, the B flat sign effects lasts till the end of the entire line. God bless!
