They were present at the funeral. In fact Abu Bakr was the one who advised the sahabah on the funeral arrangements (ghusl, Janazah, place of burial) of the Prophet (saw).
Abu Bakr(rh) and Umar(rh) was absent for some times cause they found it more important to protect the Islam(Although Allah is the protector of din but we have our responsibilities), when Muslims of Mekka and Medina were fighting over throne, they went there to solve the problem
3-The Holy Prophet sawas. said, "I am the city of knowledge and Ali (a.s.) is its gate; whoever intends to enter the city should come to its gate." This story is true but he makes out the prophet to be weak and relient on abu bakr the whole journey when in fact in th quran allah narrates that "rasullaha told abu bakr not to GRIEVE or FEAR allah is with us" why would he tell him this in the first place. Was he afraid? Wa salam
