I really hope DST is able to keep making figures for at least the next year, but hopefully for the foreseeable future, because there are several upcoming figures I would love to have. I'm not a Marvel Select collector, but I am a huge fan of DST's Muppets, LOTR, and Walking Dead lines. I really want them to make at least a couple more figures for each of those lines.
I am a fan of Marvel and DC so i collect 6" and 7" figures. Honestly neither scale has brought me as much joy as the 3 3/4" scale. G.I.Joe toys have been a part of my life when there weren't any good superhero toys on the market. I got over the scale issue a long time ago. I want figures that are fun. That's all i want. Toy companies are all failing us because they aren't putting the toys on the shelves anymore. Everybody has their version of a MATTY COLLECTOR site with exclusives that can only be found online. Buying action figures in retail stores now is starting to look like buying comics in retail stores in the late 90's. You can't come close to completing your collection by buying from local stores anymore. I have to go the toy aisle and the electronics department of Wal-Mart just to see the full release of McFarlane product. Things are getting worse with distribution but everyone keeps glossing over it. I happy that there are some action figures available but there should be so much more. Spinmaster, Playmates and Jakks have more super hero toys on the shelves than Hasbro and McFarlane at my local Wal-Mart and Target. I bet it looks like that in other states too.🤦🏾♂️
@benjerison7074 what you are calling "salt" is actually me expressing sincere concern about my hobby. Your comments let me know that u don't share my opinions but thanks for your comments anyway👍
This would honestly be great for McFarlane to do. I would love to see him snatch up the 7” marvel license, esp if he gets to help the multiverse collectors make a full 7” display
I was hoping some homework was done on the video’s subject matter but nope. Diamond doesn’t distribute for Marvel, DC, or Image comics. They haven’t for some time. That’s a big reason on why they are going under. Those accounts made up for the majority of their products. The Select toy line isn’t restricted by articulation points…that’s the dumbest thing I’ve heard. It’s restricted by releases. Select was making toys before Hasbro had the Marvel license. They were creating statue based 1:12/1:10 figures comparable to the figures (statues) McFarlane and NECA was making at the time. You can cleary see that in their figures made from 2003-08ish. It was the marvel answer to NECA and McFarlane. Around 2010 as NECA began phasing out statues (by that time 6 inch statues were dead) so did select by adding subtle articulation to the their releases. But also by that time Hasbro had taken the license from Toybiz and was now in charge of figures. As far as anyone knows this to be true Hasbro let Diamond continue creating figures as long as it wasn’t in the same scale as their figures (6 and 3.75 inch) and they had to ask Hasbro/Marvel for permission on who they can make. The product directors for select and minimates have stated this multiple times. You can go to the ASK DST forum on their page and they’ll tell people that. The biggest explanation by their own guys is that Marvel select only gets to exist cause Hasbro let them. When they come up with figures they have to ask for permission from the other company before they release anything. Guys ….There is no license to get lol, if Diamond gets rid of selects, that’s it. They only make those figures cause Hasbro let them as a long time favor in industry going back two decades. And if your looking at a select online that seems to be limited in articulation and looks dated…..they rerelease figures that around 20+ years old just so people can have them. They released Green goblin again this past year and that came out in like 2003. Anything that has been crafted in the past 5-6 years has consecutively been great. People grab a select from 2012 that got rereleased and go “man why does anybody like these it’s so limited.” It’s from 10 years ago dumbass, of course it is.
Ya ... I never said the distributed for DC or Marvel... I said different comic companies... Although I did use a pic that had all kinds of comics in there... But they do only produce products that they do not own... I stated that I wasn't completely sure about the Marvel Select because everyone had different answers just like you do ... Someone else stated " It's in their contract that they can't use more articulation" and he said everyone else is uninformed..... So now I have to thank you for your information.... That really just backs up my assessment.... No one knows what's gonna happen... Hey at least I got right that they have to get Hasbros permission because another guy said Hasbro can't say anything because Disney owns Marvel... So now I'm more informed...👍💀
@@bonesandthenecrozoo You're very polite, the main topic of your video was not a rumour or speculation. I was on the fence on getting that Captain America, I don't like the legs. I had the Thor and the Spider Woman they released.

If u dont work for diamond you dont know what the deal is ..u guessing like bonez
Lol..... I said I had no definite answers because I don't know.... I just said what could be or what may not be ... If you read the statement that Diamond put out... That I showed in the video.... They filed for bankruptcy...they owe millions of dollars...they have started selling off their divisions... Nothing to guess about there ..
The deal about what, the figures and how their budgeting and releases work? It’s not guessing lol. The project managers/directors for Diamond Select Figures have been extremely transparent. Everything I said in my statement are things they’ve said numerous times in interviews and on their ASK DST forum where you can ask the president of Diamond Select Toys and he will answer you directly. I wouldn’t open my mouth about the subject matter unless I knew, not guessed. Everybody that has followed the company for years knows how their arrangement works. Even if you watch the big TH-camrs that interview them, they base their questions around how their deal works with licensors, “are you guys allowed to make this and that” and they’ll answer like “if there is a demand and we get permission to, we will make it”. Bones probably isn’t a Diamond nerd so I’m not going to fault him for just going off of what somebody said, tbh if heard random people on the internet say the same thing but it’s not true. If they release a figure with super limited articulation, it’s probably a 6-20 year old figure and they are just rereleasing it so people that want it can have it. It’s not something that’s limited in articulation because of a “deal”. Look at what DC Collectibles/Direct was putting out in 2009/10. It’s not that articulated either, it’s just how collector figs were back then 🤷♂️ Bones definitely remembers, it’s just not something a newer collector will understand about the past market. And by collector figs I mean figures that were only sold at collector shops. (DC Direct, Marvel Select, Mezco, NECA, SOTA, etc)
I didn’t know Diamond Select was a subsidiary of Diamond Comic Distributors-that’s pretty cool to learn. I’ve always liked Marvel Select, though. My first figure was Juggernaut back in 2016, and I thought it was an awesome piece. It even got me curious about what else they had in their lineup. Fast forward to now, and I think the newer Marvel Select releases have been pretty solid. Sure, their selection isn’t as big as Marvel Legends, but their current stuff-and what’s on the horizon-shows a lot of potential. I’m also a fan of the 7-inch scale. They actually scale pretty nicely with the DC Multiverse line. For example, I’ve got my Marvel Select Cap standing next to my Justice League Task Force Superman, and they look great together. That all being said, if Mcfarlane got the marvel select line, I wonder if it would still be in “niche” markets and still be available at the $29.99 price? 🤔
I would like to see McFarlane responsible for Marvel Select. Really don't know why people have a problem with 7''. I do have some ML figures and McFarlane DC figures. Love them both.
I will love to see Mcfarlane taking on that license. Just to see how the Marvel Legends fans explode in a million pieces🤣🤣🤣 By the way I got that Captain America is really clean. But the ancles are on the weak side.
I collect Marvel Select. It is sad to see that Diamond Comics has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, and is selling Diamond Select Toys as part of the deal to pay creditors.
Funny….. in the past I had a handful of Marvel Select figures….. they were solid figures…… but in the last couple of years I lost interest as they weren’t releasing things that interest me…..
Absolutely devastating news! This company has been sticking it out before the actual action figure craze was even hinted. My opinion is they've been doing too much crap. The invincibles, black and white walking dead, may look good, but they're not what's wanted.😂❤
Not completely applicable in this case. Diamond was initially & primarily a comic book distributor. They’re not filing bankruptcy because of the toys they made. They’re going out of business because they’re in debt & the Marvel & DC stopped using them for distribution.
Up until last year I was only marvel select neca and McFarlane … now I’m 120 marvel legends deep and lost interest in the 7” scale Marvel gallery statues are pretty great too
Great video brother. It's a tricky situation no doubt. I do have a few select figures and they have some good figures.
I think they’re underrated...👍💀
I started seriously collection action figures because of Marvel Select and DC Direct. I hate the idea of Mcfarlane taking over Marvel Select
Mcfarlane already runs DC Direct....so if he gets Select that's 2 for 2...😮💀
@@bonesandthenecrozooSure, but things go south whenever someone becomes a monopoly. The 1/10 scale needs a variety of competitors.

I’ve got marvel select hulk in gladiator armor. May get the thanos too. The articulation isn’t the best but that hulk looks amazing.
Definitely some great figures...👍💀
You answered your own question w/out even knowing. If Todd gets marvel select the only thing that's going to change are more figures and frequency
Yeah.... That's pretty much it.... 💀
Its gonna suck if i dont get that select Arcangel bro

Mcfarlane should get the Marvel Select license from toybiz then we get both legends and toddyMC marvel select
👏👍💀
I'm down for 7 inch mcfarlane figures, the world can have marvel legends, I need my 7 inch marvel figures, I know he can make incredible figures
We shall see...🤞👍💀
I'd like to see this happen. Even though I have a love hate relationship with mcfarlane. Love to have a mcfarlane venom. That would be pretty sick.

Nah we don’t need McFarlane to get a 7” marvel line. That’s the last thing we need
Who is this "we?" I don't mind 7" action figures unlike the "6-inch or nothing" weirdos like you.
