Agree...I am an aviation buff and enjoy all of the videos...Yet it seems alot of people are here to criticize only...

It served its purpose as a technology test bed and helped development of later jet aircraft. In some ways it was the first X plane.

There was a static display P-59 at Lackland AFB I remember seeing back in 1987

Tricycle landing gear, mid-wing, all-metal construction and jet engines were hardly innovative features by the time the Bell Aira-catch up was built.

To call it the country's "first" jet fighter is erroneous. It wasn't accepted into the armed forces inventory and never had machine guns or cannons installed. It was a test vehicle, not an operational jet fighter. TD

Whilst it was not accepted and used as a fighter by the the US Military due to its many deficiencies, the P-59 was never a test vehicle and did indeed enter military service, as a trainer

"Shocked and Changed Aviation Forever"? I don't think so. The Airacomet was a real turkey. A technological dead-end.

“Gloster E28/39ths”. Obviously an American robot narrator 🤪! Back in WW2 when gasoline was only 0.15 23/64ths of a dollar per olympic swimming pool.

Black and white propaganda somehow it just seems that much more believable

The Airacomet was simply a piston engine aircraft design to which two jet engines were grafted on to the fuselage in lieu of piston engines Midwing position and tricycle undercarriage were not new or innovative features either as many other previous aircraft designs had already had those features. the Airacomet despite being jet powered. was neither revolutionary, innovative or advanced but merely a hodgepodge of design features already in use.
