  • JFRD responded to a mid morning structure fire. Engine 36 arrived onscene first to a 2 story residential house with fire showing through the roof along with multiple windows. Crews were informed on scene that this home had not been occupied in a few years although there was still power to the structure. Multiple lines were deployed through the front door and an exposure home was protected to the B side of the structure.
    No one was injured at this fire and the cause is still under investigation.
    This is RAW unedited footage of the fire and fire scene to give you a little behind the scenes look at how a fire ground operates. Please feel free to let us know what you think and if you have any further questions.
    If you would like to see still photos of this fire then check out our Flickr page.

    The communication, the teamwork, the comradery. Such a sight to behold. Also, the amount of water needed for one house fire... I truly appreciate you uploading this video . Fire departments across the country should watch this video so they can learn everything you shouldn’t do on the fire grounds .
    This is obviously a vacant dwelling that appears to have been vacant for a really long time . Unless there’s a known life hazard inside not a single FF should have entered this dwelling . This is a fire that should have been fought from the outside .
    I did see one ladder up but the truck company should have removed those bars from the front windows right away . They’re blocked egress points for FF’s that shouldn’t have been inside anyway .
    FF’s using tools and pulling hose line with no PPE . How would you explain an injury to the insurance company ? You wouldn’t be covered . I guess they don’t have safely officers ?
    I love the aggressiveness of this department , but it’s a vacant house that looks like a FF’s death trap . I wouldn’t have put my guys inside that place . Concentrate on exposures.
    Either way I’m glad nobody got hurt . Stay safe out there gentlemen

    1:15 Tons of Visible Burning Material that can be only attacked from the outside is ignored so they can go inside to try to extinguish it. Before they could have assembled an entry team, gotten fully dressed and got the door open, the fire could have been knocked down using tank water. The fire could have been OUT before they could even perform a search and yet they allowed it to continue burning because they were fixated on search alone and not Protection.

    • @guyincognito1431
      @guyincognito1431 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      If they suspected victims were inside there is nothing wrong with their strategy there skippy. Any action that any ff takes uses resources and wasting water on siding while someone is trapped in the structure would have been stupid. I can't imagine being criticized by some keyboard warrior who has likely never fought an interior attack structure fire in his life while I risked mine trying to save lives. Multiple fire courses would teach actioning a fire exactly how these guys did. As I'm sure you can tell from your extensive knowledge on fires it is obvious they did an initial entry knockdown. I cant tell you that if you had lost a loved one in this fire and you later found out they were using precious early scene resources on the eaves troughs even though entry would have been safe you'd be singing a different tune.

    Do you know why they didn't extinguish all that Visible Burning Material in the first minute using the Deck Gun on tank water?
    1. The flames make being there more exciting. Think about it. You walk into the structure with fire above you or not. Which would give you the most thrill?
    2. They are BLINDLY focused on Search and Rescue instead of doing their real job of protection by eliminating the threat.
    Either way, they are allowing a threat to any victims, themselves and the structure to exist, while they go inside to play fireman. Knock the fire down while everyone is getting dressed and then safely and calmly go inside to search and mop up. Boring!!!
