I'm good with becoming American, my family originally was from the US but was invited to Canada to settle with the promise of farmland. Over the years, the farmland was poor, and the government was equally deceptive and poor. The dream of my great-grandfather to have land of his own was dashed, and many of the family believe we should have never moved.
Not enough money or people to do it.

I do not want to drive over a bridge that was made by the guy that said "that looks about right", rather than have engineering, which does require a degree or two or masters or PHd. The trades build what the engineers design, maintain and assess the performance.... which then brings in the engineers to review, and recommend improvements or changes to maintenance schedule.
The 737 door that flew off? No proper chain of command to execute, oversee, and sign off on workmanship. Trades failed, and the Engineers failed. They all possibly were working on their collage, instead!

Those narrow pieces are assembled that way to use on slopes. The pieces used for flat terrain are much wider.
