Chicago definitely has a ton to do the problem with Chicago for me and why I would never live there only visit is once you leave Chicago there’s virtually nothing else around you have to drive hours and hours to get to other states and cities versus Boston within a 7 Hour Dr. you virtually can hit half of the entire coast and some of the inner states. Faucet is obviously a lot cleaner education a second to none. Definitely way more expensive however, across-the-board pretty much. To me just from visiting Chicago feels like a slightly more spread out New York City. It doesn’t feel unique I know it is, but it just isn’t unique enough in comparison.
Was thinking of moving to Boston but I’m leaning towards Chicago because it’s extremely competitive to get something in the city and not much available right now it seams
It depends, @walkingonsunshine, if you are thinking to get a condo in Boston, that's not that competitive. Especially now. The craziness has calmed down somewhat. Check the market update I posted a week ago. When it comes to home prices, Boston is more expensive, of course, but you pay for what you get. I feel that Boston has much more to offer. My two cents. Good luck with that difficult decision!
@@BostonAreaHomes thanks for the reply. We were looking for our first home, likely a condo as we are younger (mid 20s) my fiancé has his whole family in Boston where he grew up in Wellesley and it would nice to be in the same state as family. However I would prefer to stay near the center of the city but it seems like other younger professionals are competing for the same reasonably priced condos.
Boston is easier to get around and I agree with how easy it is to get to like NYC, that's a huge plus. Also, since it never feels too city-like, it's easy to feel comfortable and more at home. That being said, I still prefer Chicago. I love the architecture of the city so much and I can't give up my love for Italian Beefs, haha. Boston kind of gives off a more comfortable and larger Milwaukee to me, because of how everything shuts down so early. Maybe that also plays into how I feel pretty safe in Boston, but idk I've also always been more near Back Bay or Allston and knew people around. If somebody is used to the convenience of getting around to other cities and travel, then Boston is definitely better, but if you love cities with some space as well, Chicago is it.
None of those east Coast cities are better than Chicago! We are world class. Boston shouldn’t be compared to our beautiful city. Respectfully. 3:44 we don’t need to travel to a big city. We are the big city 😂. New York is the only city comparable to us in America 🇺🇸. Plus Chicago is cheaper than Boston as well. Which is major plus!
Chicagi has nothing to do compared to Boston, Chicago should not be compared to Beantown, sports teams are a LOT better than in Chicago, the Bulls, the Bears, are nothing compared to the Celtics and the Patriots. The food, safety, something Chi-town does not have, and it is colder and we get more snow in Boston.
Other way around Chicago is a million times better than Boston and go ahead and bring up crime I know you’ve took 6 vaccines and watch Fox News no one compares Boston to nyc ,London ,Paris or Tokyo like they do Chicago
I agree. Cleaner, better paying jobs, easily accessible by public transportation… the list goes on! Chicago, is just a dump! Acres of land for no reason..
Noune, you needlessly put yourself at a disadvantage by mispronouncing "Chicago" throughout the video. Maybe some viewers will think it's cute when a foreigner says "Tchicago," but I wince every time I hear it. In my experience as someone who has lived in both cities (or rather in one and near the other), summers in Chicago are much worse than summers in Boston---though in the past twenty years, Boston summers have gotten much worse (but I assume that the same thing has been happening in Chicago). The "L" is convenient for getting around if your Chicago starts from the Loop and extends north along the lake. If you live on the South Side, you are not so well served. Where the CTA is superior to the MBTA is that it is not in such a state of decay. Chicago has the Art Institute smack in the middle of the city where you can't ignore it and where it is easily accessible to everyone. Boston's Museum of Fine Art is in an out-of-the-way location. I visited the Art Institute several times a year when I lived in Chicago: during my twenty years in Boston, I visited the MFA a total of twice.
I guess I need to take it down and re-record. Now that I found out, it's on my nerves too LOL. Most of my subscribers are foreigners too, though, I think they will forgive me.
@@BostonAreaHomes NO you definitely should not re-record this video. I’m not even sure why Mr. Self-Righteous felt it was necessary to make that comment. If he didn’t like the way you were pronouncing Chicago then his sensitive a*s should have closed the video, no one forced him to stay. I just moved from Boston to Chicago about six months ago. I think you’re spot on about a lot of things that you said in your video. I absolutely love Chicago now that I live here. A few of the things that I noticed is that other than Chicago there really isn’t much to do outside of the city. When I lived in Boston it was nothing for me to go to New York City for the weekend or to fly to Philadelphia or even Atlanta but here the next closest city is Milwaukee which isn’t saying much. The other thing that I never noticed when I lived in Boston is that it’s not very big especially compared to Chicago. It is much cheaper here I am renting an apartment in a pretty trendy neighborhood in Chicago for around $1500 a month whereas I was living just outside of Boston in Newton paying $2500 a month. It is also true about the restaurants, in my neighborhood alone there’s probably 10 to 15 outstanding restaurants within walking distance of my apartment. And while I did say there isn’t much to do outside of Chicago, even in the winter there is a lot going on in Chicago itself and I really think that makes up for the lack of activity outside of Chicago. But with all of that being said Boston is still my favorite city, and a city I’ll probably be moving back to after a year or two here. Great video I really enjoyed it.

What about the crime rates in these cities?
@phantombusa I don’t go into that on purpose, maybe viewers who have lived in both will chime in?
