      If they don't , It's a Easy Win in Small Claims Court. They Know this because, if He Files for the Max (5k in Pa I think it Is?), the Stealership loses money because they have to Pay an Attorney to Show Up and Fight a Clearly Lost Case. Plus his Video of the Service Mgr? Saying basically "Sorry, it's Our Bad, and we want to Make it Right" is Omission of Fault on the Part of The Service Department ,ie, the Stealership.

      @truthsetter5155 not sure I'm following the logic. If I buy a Jeep with a factory warranty, I would want a " Jeep " mechanic from a dealership to fix it. If he screws up, I keep taking it back until it's right, under warranty. If you take it to a private mechanic, Jeep could say you didn't need this or that, or he overcharged you, we aren't reimbursing you. Or does your mechanic get paid right from Jeep, and you don't have to deal with getting reimbursed?

    • @Spammflavor
      @Spammflavor 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @maxxbenzz7842 their are certified Dodge mechanics that can fix it. But if you have a warranty on any car. You're kinda stuck until the warranty runs out. Most dealers will give you a hard time if you let any other mechanics do warranty work. In some situations, not taking warranty work to the dealer will void the warranty.

    My friend is literally dealing with the same BS with the Chevy dealer. His car will idol rough after idling for a few minutes, then shut off. They tried to tell him it's an O2 sensor and tried to charge him 300 dollars. Thankfully he had the sense to call me first because 1. I can promise it's not an o2 sensor, and 2. Paying 300 dollars for that easy of a problem is INSANE. So that's a good reason why I don't fuck with dealerships.

    I work at a luxury car dealership. Sure, a little bit of the run around is going on but that’s why you should always have the repairs done at the dealership once they perform the diagnostic. Once they do the “first step” in the repair and it doesn’t fix it, 9/10 times, there is a credit that is given to you for the next step.

    The stealership in most cases is looking to make a profit off of anything they can from you. If they want your repeated business, they'll treat you right. If they value their reputation, they will do what's right. The potential to continue to do business with you in the future is their incentive if they don't treat you like they value you. Walk away, it almost like having a intimate relationship reciprocation is key.

    Brakes on my f350 kept sinking in to the floor. I changed the booster and same thing was happening. So I took it to ford. First time it was $700. Second time 2200 then the third time it was 1400. Dumb of me to keep going but I was already in to deep. I left the third time and about four minutes in it started to sink again. The forth time they had a master mechanic brought in. When I went to pay the lady at the register leans in and said I heard it was this $32 sensor the entire time. Boy all hell raised loose in that show room when they tried saying the manger had gone home for the day. About 40 seconds later that mofo walked in holding his tie and extended out. He was pleading for me to quiet down. I refused and within 5minutes I had a $2800 dollar refund. I was still shorted but figured the new rear brake calipers and pads were worth it. Let people know the establishment is a fraud!

    Toyota got over on me in 1998 working on my supra. It wasnt holding boost and at the time I knew nothing about cars. It was under warranty and they claimed the problem was because of me and they refused to fix it without payment. Charged me 3300. I payed it but didn't feel good about it. Took it to a different Toyota dealership and they said the other dealership scammed me. I ended up getting all the money back and they gave me complimentary oil changes for several years. I haven't dealt with another dealership since. Most of them are only out there to get all the money possible and screw their customers.

    Great way to handle it! But I feel your opinion on the dealer should have paid for the exhaust to be put back on is kinda crazy… you doing the job on your own took all responsibility of labor away from the shop, you pretty much got the wrong information on diag and were told to buy parts. Once you leave that dealership and work on the car the labor is yours to burden. Hence why they only paid for their actual mistake which was selling you the wrong information. Cheers to dealing with this like an adult and glad you got it all situated.

    Mechatronics engineer here. Went to dealership for maintenance package oil change, and told them to ignore the check engine light, bcus I don't want them touching anything but the oil change. Came back and they wanted to charge me $4300 to rebuild evap system, told manager and Master mechanic "the go to guy" that it was just a $34 sensor, they said impossible. So I humbly embarrassed them all when I got permitted to enter the shop floor followed by service menager and tested, isolated and replaced the $34 sensor and all problems with check engine light went away within a second..LMFAO. Turned all looked at the and said this is why I told yall not to touch anything else and why I don't bring my car for any repairs here..They're crooks and if they're not, they're just dumb !!!

    Past Factory Technician, and independent. Diagnostic should have gone further. But shit happens for various reasons. I would generally never straight up give a customer a diagnosis and have them do the repairs themselves. If that's all you want? And you buy the part from us or aftermarket, you would be on your own. Mistakes happen and if we're to misdiagnose a vehicle, I can reset and continue. You buy the part and it doesn't fix your issue, that unfortunately is on you. But you would have been given this advice before you left the shop. Glad they took care of it.

    I've been wondering what happened with all this. I believe the dealership, treated you pretty fairly. Of course they could have done better, but you can't have it all, you know. I mean they could have got the right diagnosis from the jump. But nobody's perfect. And they cleaned up their mess for the most part. Considering the grand scheme of things and how some of these other dealerships were acting. I'd give them four out of five stars.
    EDIT: they took responsibility for their actions. And did not give you the runaround fixing the problem. That means a lot in my book.

      Depends. In this world you have to be a gangster and gentleman. I was at a Mercedes dealership in massachusetts that wasn’t my regular and I was More than patient with them. Far beyond I should have and they kept giving me the run around and charging me in full for parts and only giving me half of it saying its on back order. Finally I came in there giving them hell, respectfully and they smarten up, acted shocked and gave into my simple demands. Always be a gentleman, if they dont respect it you show them your gangster. Remember they will take advantage if you let em

      @@crcdesign9886 As guy who worked in parts for a dealership, the warranty for stuff is a pain the ass. Car companies set up dumb procedures that has to be followed for stuff to be warrantied properly. To be honest i think the car companies just make it to where they make more money off the "proper" way to do it. aka procedure saying to replace $2000 sensor before continuing diagnosis. It came to a point that i got fed up with it that i just had test parts laying around to give to techs to see if it actually fixed the problems.

    My Nissan service guy got an attitude with me when I asked for a repair. Said, I needed an appointment. I made one for the following day and just pull it in first thing. I got, you need to talk to your salesperson. I did, he said come over here. Literally, I owned it for less than 72 hours. Hey, this is a CPO and you were supposed to check it out. Alabama has a 72 hour rule, and threatened to kill the deal and return it. I was told the deal is done. I'm like, BULLSHIT. The check didn't clear, I can cancel it. Everyone knows, they wont release the title until payment has been established. After that, they were kissing my ass.
