    @ 57 seconds in you will see why the 700xx is superior. Honda independent rear suspension gives the height needed and the Yamaha can't keep up on rocks but the scrapping really shines up the swing arm and axle haha. There is a reason these XX are not on CraigsList long, if you can even find one. People keep them and they last.
    2019 700r are posted all day for sale.

      Heck yeah man! The 700xx is the trail king with the independent rear and the crazy good clearance! I wouldn't trade mine for any other quad out there! #RaptorKiller Thanks for watching!

      The 700xx engine was a dog, shocks were non adjustable also. That’s why it’s not around anymore. IRS makes it to heavy! Not very sporty. Also the raptor pulls a gear higher! That’s bad, and to your raptors for sale all day, that’s because there are millions out ther because it’s the number one selling sport quad of all time! Read the dirt wheels shoot out, the article put the nails in the coffin of the Honda

      @@toddmerriott6901 My honda trx700xx has way more power than my 2020 raptor 700r. Both are stock engine-wise. Honda has heavier Maxxis Razr 2 with heavier wheels, they are taller two which gives more top-end speed but less low end. My honda pops the front wheel up no problem while the raptor struggles. This is on the pavement no clutch. The only reason why the raptor is better is because of the suspension, but 1500 for a set elkas solves that problem.

    • @toddmerriott6901
      @toddmerriott6901 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@peterness280 That’s crazy, dirt wheels magazine did a shoot out and said the raptor could carry a taller gear at glam is Sandune’s climbing and talked about what a dog the motor was on the 700 XX. Do you know the 15 and up raptor has the same power to weight ratio as a Can-Am 1000 renegade. That’s the most powerful atv made. Just saying. And The suspension on the raptor is way superior because of the adjustability. The reason no one makes an independent suspension sport quad is because it’s way too heavy to be a sport quad.

    • @peterness280
      @peterness280 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@toddmerriott6901 that’s why I got the raptor because it was supposed to have more power. Mine could just be a lemon though.

    The raptor is great for trails with larger tires

      The raptor had more tread than the 700xx that was driving on slicks at that point. It was an even race tire wise.

    I’ve owned a 700xx and currently a 2017 raptor se , they are both great machines! Although the Honda is heavier it has more jam and revs higher , it was a beast in the trails and it was nice having all that ground clearance , but for whipping it out of corners even with a sway bar upgrade it can’t touch the raptor and over whoops and in the dunes the raptor is king.

    • @4wheelshenanigans93
      @4wheelshenanigans93  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @Raptor Dan that’s exactly what our experience has been! At times it’s hard for the raptor to keep up with the 700xx out on the trials. It definitely dominates there! But when it comes to sliding around turns, drifting and hitting the whoops, the raptor takes it for sure. Otherwise they are fairly evenly matched.

      4Wheel Shenanigans couldn’t agree more ! But a 2015+ rappy with an fci intake , pc5 and a good full exhaust spanks the 700 with the big three in a drag.

      @Raptor Dan that’s awesome! My raptor is a 2007, so its a little older. I’m really hoping to upgrade to a newer one here soon! I’ll have to keep those mods in mind so I can leave the 700xx in my dust 😎

      4Wheel Shenanigans and while you’re at it , get the throttle body bored out , port and polish the head , +2 valves , 11-1 piston and a stage 3 cam. 80ish hp to the wheels without touching the bottom end lol , just kidding the crank won’t handle that for long .😂

    I'm surprised the 700xx was so competitive in the drags (call it a tie really since it depended who got the better dig as he said) given the weight disadvantage.

    Great to see some XX videos. They are showing their age and don't see many new posts about them anymore. I have a red and black I bought new back in the day when Honda thought their new suspension would dominate. I had an '01 Raptor before it. I still liked the Raptor best because it was carbed and just had a different feel than the injected Honda. I broke a bone in my left foot a while back and just now feeling like I can put some weight on the pegs. Hoped to take it out this spring and then this virus stuff came along. Then two weeks ago, I messed up my left hand tangling with a lawn mower so it will be a little longer. Getting harder to find places to ride in my area of Tx. My last outing was out west at Glamis, Ca. Great place. Worth the trip.

    • @4wheelshenanigans93
      @4wheelshenanigans93  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Yeah, they're really unheard of anymore. I went to my local dealer to pick up some oil, oil filter, and coolant and the parts guy had never even heard of them before. I've never been on the 660 raptor, but I love my 700xx, with all the ground clearance and I have grown to love the independent rear suspension. Although, there's nothing like slinging a straight axle sport quad around corners. Glamis is definitely on the bucket list. I hope we can all get back out riding soon!
