Definitely acknowledge how much work building two systems for a review was, kudos!! Also interested to see this format again in the future: building a balls-to-the-wall high-end build alongside a more reasonable/mid-range build to show thermals/compatibility/etc. Would be a ton of work I imagine but would really showcase what is possible in a case vs what a typical builder would do with it.
That Strix RTX 4090 EVA-02 Edition is beautiful. I wish it was available here in my country. Thing can only be imported from abroad and it costs WAY MORE than it would locally compared to other Strix 4090's.
Nice review! Great that you made 2 builds, white and black. I agree that the fan placement in the front is an innovative improvement for this type of case, and I like it. The only problem is the lack of dust filters, although this can be solved with aftermarket accessories.
I have an H5 and love it. This seems really cool too, I love the angled intake fans! NZXT fans are top notch. My buddy just got an H9 and that thing is a behemoth, would be so easy to build in. Id personally love to see them try and make a tiny itx form factor case like the fractal terra.
Thanks for that. I always get frustrated when builders immediately rip out the stock fans and put in a set costing almost as much as the case itself! I wanted to know how the basic setup worked. It's nice to know that you recommend the stock NZXT fans.
Idk why people are upset at this. To me it fits nicely in their lineup size-wise and looks wise. Also, this also solves one issue of dual chamber cases: having the side intake fans closer to the outside of the case, thus improving airflow.
You spoil us with these dueling banger builds! I'm not personally into this case visually or mechanically, but I'm sure lots of people will like it for the unique front profile.
Thank you for the detailed explanation of the fan issues. In my research this weekend, I didn't see anything that mentioned an issue with other fans. In talking with NZXT's chat bot on fan sizes, NZXT's site is not very good with specifics, nothing was mentioned about which fans work best or that other fans may require extra work. Nor did it say anything about the ATX board would hang over the edge. I think it would be normal to 'assume' that it was built with the largest one they say will fit and the other ones would just have some extra landscaping on a couple edges. Luckily, I was going to buy it local, so I have some time to look for something else. Shame, I love the concept and look of the case. We'll see this week if I end up with my third NZXT case in a row, or if I find another brand with a similar look that will look better. Thanks again for your very timely information!!!
Great video to show step by step all the areas of the case. Love this case and bought it as non-RGB version, because I've had alteady a set of Asia Horse fans (including Hub and remote, but also compatible to use PWM and ARGB via mainboard) for my white-build. The installation was plug n play without clearance issues. They have a beautiful rgb-design and they fit perfectly together with my 2x NZXT 140mm fans in the bottom and a NZXT air cooling system for the cpu (not a fan of AIO's) via ARGB splitter connected to the RGB setup, to control speed and RGBs. I also use the NZXT vertical GPU (expensive but it's working like a charm) mount for the ASRock 7900XTX Taichi. All fans are on the hub, the hub is connected to the ARGB-port on the mainboard and controlled by ASRocks Software and the fans are PWM controlled and silent. I recommend the original NZXT 140mm for the bottom. Long story short: I use 2x NZXT white RGB 140mm in the bottom and 7x Asia Horse 120mm RGB fans (1 on the back, 3 on the top, 3 on the front, hub and remote control included, but also able to work via PWM and ARGB-port on the mainboard). Air Flow in this case is fantastic and this is a big bang for the buck. I wish everyone happy PC building :)
Great video. Thanks for posting it. I purchased the same case and will start my build soon. Too bad you did not do a proper cable management set up. I love to see both sides nice a neat.
Yup, major bummer. If anyone else is thinking like I am, and not wanting to deal with potential problems, that will end up making this case an easy pass for most people
Weird question, are you using natural light to light up the case in that video? If not, what kind of lamp are you using? Looks extremely nice and sun-like
Great review, but a couple of points: You can fit the SL-INF in the side without removing the air shroud as I and many others have done so. You can fit 2 sl inf 140s in the bottom of the case by modifying a small amount of plastic on the connector for the fans. Obviously do this at your own risk but me and many others have the fans sitting happily in this case.
Thank you so much Nick, for this excellent review and beautiful build. About the holes: I actually think they allow you only 140mm fans with a reason. Most people these days want to mount their gpu vertically. Wich creates hotter temps. In the hyte y60 a gpu like a red devil will be fried. 140mm fans are more efficient in blowing air and air pressure than 120mm fans. Your gpu def will need that. I bought this case I love your black red build, I will mount my gpu vertically too, but in a multi angle. Better for the gpu than completely vertical. Thanks again!
Great vid , nice looking case but not being able to switch the power buttons on top is a deal breaker for me cuz i cant put this thing on the floor like i usually do ..
Nice clean white built, but I recommend you using reverse Lian-Li SL fans, looks much better if you can the infinity mirrors of the fans of the front and bottom fans, too.
Excellent video fam! Interesting take on the fish tank case. Pass for me. Still waiting on the next case to grab my attention enough to replace my current one.
If you're using this case with an air cooler, you don't even need to buy any fans as the that's the best fan setup, 3 front intake. You could add 1 rear exhaust fan if you want, but it makes no difference.
Just about to my first build in quite a few years. I really wanted this case but went with a different one for reasons. But it got me thinking. Side intake fans are incredibly inefficient. I would buy a case in a second if they turned the mobo 90° and someone made a 'top' exhaust CPU cooler, pushing all air front to back. I'm sure those parts exist but they are not mainstream and therefore likely not affordable. As far as IO, expand the front and it's fine. Who needs 8 USB ports on the rear of the computer? Some decent feet, put your wireless dongles there where they rarely need to be looked at, the GPU would be much more visible, etc. Of course this is accomplished with bottom fans and a top mount AIO, but the best looking part of the GPU is still hidden and side fans are far better for looks than air flow (they're far from useless and look great, but it could be better is all I'm sayin').
not sure why people try to make statements like this. im currently gathering parts for my dream build and can pretty much afford anything. there are so many variables that can determine what fan will look best..like is the case White or Black? White tends to look best with the infinity fans ill agree with that, but when you talk about a black case, which is what i will be going for....the UNI fan SL v2 starts to look beautiful asf the more you see it in builds, especially from the side, and the fans being black really do a lot for actually making that RGB and the sides of the fans REALLY POP. I get it tho...when ur an RGB lover, you pretty much default think that you HAVE TO get the fan blades in RGB and the UNI SL V2 dont come that way...so it starts to become a bit of a dillemma and one starts to think....could i go infinity for the side intake fans and then SL V2 for the top and bottom....and other crazy ideas like that. ALSO people could be considering the Corsair QL fans becuase they have the rings on both sides similar to the NZXT DUO's, BUT the fan blades are ALSO rgb. and then like i said theres thos NZXT duo's along with the Razer fans which have their unique RGB rings with solid color fans. and the NZXT Kraken X and Z both come with unique shaped rings around their fans that look similar almost to the UNI SL V2.....so these are ALL GREAT CHOICES and it really comes down to preference and case, case color. When someone says something like you did and that their fan is the best its almost always becuase they didnt even know some of these other options existed.
You hit on it perfectly. I was able to get Corsair qx120 fans on the side but the cable has to run inside the case and doesn’t look great. There is no way to install q140 fans in the bottom at all; unfortunately that’s a deal breaker for me as I already have all the Corsair ax fans
I agree with you on No Fans and sell the case cheaper and also have Rubber Grommet's to hide the wires. I also don't like that the entire case uses 120mm fans Except the bottom and should be 120mm or 140mm fans to bottom. I am a person that like a case for looks like this one BUT not the fact that I would have to use all NZXT fans. Removable top with a little more clearance would be helpful.
When horizontally mounting the GPU would you say there would be sufficient space to use non-custom cables. ie. Is the gap between the power connector and glass the same? Usually you give a measurement of the total width on your case reviews (unless I missed it on this one!). Most cases now can accomodate long GPUs as we dont ever have HDD cages at the front, but with ever larger fan shrouds, width, is more important. You seem to be using more flexible cabling for the GPU power, and its strange how a lot of case reviews dont allay that fear for those wanting a higher end GPU. Thanks for the vid - definitely a lot of good cases to choose from right now.
Man I was going to use the same Lian Li Galahad 2 LCD but I have no idea how to figure out whether the radiator will for above my motherboard. You can put two Lian Li inf fans on the bottom of you cut of the connector and tape the cables to the side.

I was thinking about picking this case up to replace my Y40 and get a bit better airflow for my 4090, but I have Uni-Fans, so the detail around that was good to know. I'll be looking at other options.
What is that moving topographic digital glitch type image used for the CPU cooling block on the white build? Also, is it at all possibly to modify it to fit a smaller radiator in the bottom fan section as well?
Hi Nick! I recently got the case and it has been working well with my ryzen 5 7600x and a deepcool ak620 zero dark. I'm looking to get an aio and the price for the Phantek glacier one locally available me seems cheap atm. Would the d30 fans have clearance issues like the lian li fans and rads? I'm new to pc building and I've been having alot of fun slowly upgrading my blackout performance build to a more aesthetic build. Hope to hear from you soon mate cheers! Ps. I hate the nzxt rgb fans hehe
where do I find the vertical mounting bracket for the GPU in the black build? awesome video! right on!
Would i have an issue fitting a corsair RM850x psu in this case? It looks a tad right. Cheers.
hello! can we basically put the gpu vertically or do we have to buy all the stuff for it?
This is a nice looking case :O
good case they really should have made it bigger though, no doubt another will soon apear with this style just bigger
how does the case compare to the phantek nv5? i seriously cannot decide bewtween the 2
i just order this case cant wait😍
Are the stock fans ok to use? I see a lot of builds replacing them ...
They are only DC fans so you cant adjust the fan speed
