@@VTeslaV i think it is, but I'm not 100 percent sure. Everything i read said you cannot use gypsum because it cannot tolerate the high heat (600+) which you need to ensure that all of the water is out of the mold. If you have any moisture left in the mold before casting and you pour metal in, the water will instantly vaporize and basically explode your mold, thus throwing liquid metal all over the place. Again...not an expert in this topic, take what I say with a grain of salt...
I didn't yet.... But i have a strong suspicion that i need to use a mix of new gold and recycled gold rather than just recycled gold. I don't really understand why though yet....
@@DmitriIvanov yep thats exactly right, in almost any casting process like injection molding or casting for jewelry you can only add a certain amount of recycled materials. It all depends on the material and mold but its usually around 25% recycle and 75% pure material
