I seen these guys live about 25 years ago in Tokyo, they have always been amazing! It is really cool to see that they are still rockin hard!
I heard it 25 years ago in Tokyo, and it was amazing. I think at that time they were very minor and only quite a core group of fans responded to them.
Your comment made me very happy lol.

Thanks, but that what the captions are for.
Sha-Ba-Da-Ba Dhiyuun Ba-Ba-Ba-Baan !! The guitarist was saying in a certain interview, that while they were unable to make their enough living by their music, he worked in a bookstore, read a lot of classic novels, and philosophy books which made them have deep concern about the music itself and their lives. He was also saying that this "Heatless Scat" has the theme that one's eagerness for one's life leads to the eagerness to the everyone's happiness, which is world peace. Their lyrics are super positive and have deep message which I love about the band . I'm a Japanese but I didn't know this magnificent band since 2019. Such a shame. You tube has been changing massively, the situation of all the music market. I feel so good that the band like this has been focused recently. GALNERYUS "RAISE MY SWORD", "HUNTING FOR YOUR DREAM" are my recommend. Also the Japanese Heavy metal male band. Vocal is EPIC and Guitar is otherworldly!!
We feel the same way about music. TH-cam has opened our eyes to so many new musical experiences! Ningen Isu is one of the best bands we've found so far!
Sorry if this is unwarranted or not my place. But I think you mean (out of this world) or (otherworldly). Both have similar meanings so your point is clear enough to be understood. But I thought you might like to know this.
@@FlySwann Jim-san arigatou gozaimasu!!
Just saw them a few weeks ago in the London, one of the top shows I've attended, the energy was just electric even without any fireworks or stuff like that.
The beautiful thing about the internet is being able to procure music. Without relying on record company's to cram it down your throat.
NINGEN ISU! They're the trailblazers of Japanese Metal, their Black Sabbath/Led Zeppelin. They were knew by few outside and even inside Japan but are on the road for 30 years, many albums. Baterist is sick, Vocalist/guitarist shereds the heck out of the guitar. They're legendary! PS: Ken-ichi Suzuki is the best bass player I ever heard. He uses distortions, runs and slides no one does or expects. REACT TO NINGEN ISU "The Colour Out Of Space".
I have listened to this at least 10 times in the past week and lots of their other songs. So good, all of it was all brilliant, Shinji Wajima (55) is just the coolest.
Black Sabbath is a big influence on them. The band is about 30 years old though the drummer is new, he has only been with them for about a decade. They have several songs based H.P. Lovecraft stories. Other Japanese metals bands: Dir en Grey, Aldious, Maximum the Hormone, Mary's Blood, and Lovebites.
Thanks for the info and for the names of other potential bands to react to!
@@UnhingedReactions Also Doll$boxx and Galneryus.
I'd also recommend Dimlim. They're newer to the Visual Kei genre, which isn't so much about the type of music as much as the androgynous aesthetic of the band members.
The drummer has been with them since 2004 apparently. There'd been 4 other drummers previously.
Ningen Isu kicks more ass than is decent...and, I say that as a 70-year old bassist/lead vocalist who has been jammin' since he was 16.
ShikataGaNai100
Sorry man, I had to re-read your comment. I read it first as a 70 yr old bastard. Lol
This band makes me wish I understood Japanese. Bad ass.
@@deanmass You can turn on subtitles and translate
@@Sorrowdusk Wow! I did not know they would do Japanese! Thanks!
Looks like you guys hit an algorithm jackpot. First 500 subs, lets go!
In the past, NIngenisu guitarist Wazzy (Shinji Wajima) suffered from depression.
In his case, he stopped smoking and his physical condition changed drastically.
Fortunately, he was able to realize the benefits of smoking cessation by standing on stage several times a month.
He realized that his singing voice had increased and his grip had returned, and he gradually escaped from depression. I read this in a wazzy column.
Doug, please enjoy the music in the future.
Doug and Ed, I enjoyed your reaction video. Thank you.
Very interesting, thanks for the comment. Unfortunately my particular illness is a great deal more complicated, but that is good information for some sufferers. Keep On Rockin🤘

You guys do some of he best reactions on the Toob, I like the display format, the proper sound levels (so we can hear the music, too) and the honest commentary, which tells us you're real musicians. Great stuff!
dude on the right looks like he's already listened to this 100+ times
Hahaha, no, not 100 times. 🙂 Actually I think I listened to it once all the way through before we did this reaction. But this was Doug's very first listen. I knew he'd dig it 🤟
From an American old fart....that's what a Gibson sounds like.
Ningen Isu just flat out kicks ass.
Watching the one guy who has already been exposed just Rocking out while the other guy is sitting there with a "what in the actual....?" look on his face. Just watching his first time reaction reminds me of my First run in with Ningen Isu, just WOW.
I believe I'm "the other guy"...they sure did blow me away 🤘
What these guys don't know is is that in about a month all the will be watching are bands from Japan. My prediction. Japan is rocking HARD! Next stop Band Maid. Check Out Play Live!!!
Stay tuned!
couldnt agree more with band maid
Onset by Band-Maid will melt their faces....
Saw Band Maid last year in San Francisco. Really really good.
Ningen isu has been together for 36 years ,The current drummer has been with them for 20. They are known as the grandfathers of Japanese rock. also they have been called the Black Sabbath of Japan. They have 26 albums under their belt. If young people think oldheads can't rock all they need to do is listen to these 3 gentlemen. They have a new album out now. Check out the song Farewell to the world .
Badass three piece id love to see them live.
Someone else had said from the group's site, "You have Judas Priest, Now you have Buddhist Priest!"
"Old wise men who like to melt faces" 🤘🤘🤘
I'm gonna take a wild guess that they've never seen a BabyMetal concert in Japan. haha
Yes, hard rock and heavy metal are still doing very well over in Japan. Onmyo-Za, Gotsu Totsu Kotsu, 88 Kasyo Junrei, Anthem, Loudness... Ningen Isu have loads of great stuff!
Coming to SXSW this year....
Sadly, no SXSW.
Wow, fantastic find, and these older dudes are total Beasts From The East, with absolutely no apologies to that
undoubtedly heavily-overdubbed Dokken live album from the fall of 1988! Great SG-guitar action, and definitely in
a complete different direction from Angus Young's infamous style on that same axe! P.S., I live in area also affectionately-known as Little Tibet and there are a number of fellas there who look like they might also be capable
of rawkin' out in a similar manner. P.S., check out some other heavy bands from the Land of the Rising Sun such as
Loudness, Ezo, Bow Wow/Vow Wow, XJapan, Earthshaker and Sigh...
These guys are really damn good. Discovered them a couple months ago when I saw this video. Since then I've been hooked. Check out some of their stuff from the 90s. It's a whole different feeling and just as good. Imagine if Sabbath, Zeplin and Deep Purple made some kind of crazy mutant band. Seriously, it's way different, check it out.
Here's a live version of one of my favorite songs.

Added to my Playlist.. fucken awesome!
Pretty late to the party here, but they did perform in the Ozzfest 2013 and felt very honored, since they are fans of Black Sabbath, so no wonder you guys could hear some influences from Black Sabbath out of it.
Better late than never. Thanks for watching 🤘
Wajima of the guitarist uses not only the maker product but also the effector which oneself made. It is performance of new song "Love Nirvana" and to comment with this video if interested. But if you can enjoy it only with a picture as there is not translation.

Missed them last month, but it was a mad week with Fate Gear, Japan Now and Baby Metal. Something had to give and I missed them & Blood Stained Child too. September is shaping up nicely with Scandal, Aldious and now The Warning in London. Next week, Sokinaru another amazing band, I am travelling to Vienna, as there is no London gig.
Japan full of unique rock and metal bands. Saw you did Band Maid but suggest, Maximum the Hormone or Babymetal both live in Japan. You can see some great crowd reactions.
Lol, don't generalize too much about crowd behaviour being influenced by the Japanese culture... In fact, it depends on the band. King Crimson is intellectual music, sort of, so they sit and listen attentively, sure. However, bands that invite participation with dancing and sing along, crowds go crazy and join along. Watch, for instance, _Road of Resistance Live from Japan_ from BABYMETAL. This is an epic performance with amazing crowd participation.
As suggestions for your World Wednesday, try _The Hu_ from Mongolia... metal with traditional instruments and Mongolian throat singing, they are pretty hot right now. *Wolf Totem* is a nice intro to the band.
Or else, from Australia, _Twelve Foot Ninja_ - hard rock with serious djenting and an eclectic approach to song writing, also, they love to ham it up in their videos, so it's always interesting... Try *One Hand Killing* ...
Wait what, oh japan you have done it again!
Wow!!! The Japanese "Jimmy Page." Impressive.
I guess its more to Tony Iommi feelings.
A samurai, an oni, and an elvis impersonator =
Metal song praising Buddha
This pleases me.
the drummer is dressed as a Yakuza gangster; pompadour, floral shirt and sneakers.
An old guy dressed in traditional clothes, a monk, and yakuza (mafia/gangster).
"Something you don't see every day on TH-cam."
Well, it's regularly on my TH-cam feed. ;-)
If you want to see a live performance, I would suggest this video/song: Ningen Isu Namahage live
Also as others have mentioned lots of other Japanese bands.
You should watch this again with translations!!!
have you guys not heard the group Loudness from the late 80's early 90's metal is massive in Japan
Saw them live, killer stuff
the g is hard in Ningen Isu. Pronounced the way you would say gun. The u is also clipped and barely said
Listen to Namahage by Ningen Isu it has everything.
Hahahah i love how you guys comment on the first song lyric you think of lol👌👌👌👌

This is how I feel watching this :D
Me "left dude", me confused. But me likes your passion 🤘
I can recommend also band called Uchikubi Gokumon Doukoukai from Japan. There is also only three members.
"Kill the tomatillo! Kill the tomatillo!" Dude I laughed so hard🤣🤣🤣 Now I can't unhear that!
Dude, every time I hear this now, that's going to be the lyric in my head..! ROFL! - Sakana metal
More like "Kill the Tarantino! Kill the Tarantino!" Quentin might want to run.
they have 20 albums or some like that ^^
Quiet crowds in Japan? Hmmmm, look up the live recording of Road of Resistance by BabyMetal.
And X-Japan songs. Especially the balads are getting a lot of sing-along. Even to the point where the audience sings them before and after the show, and during the show when the band has a break.
Alien Weaponry (New Zealand) "Kai Tangata". A young three-piece Thrash Metal band who sing primarily in the Maori language Te Reo. 🤘
JAPAN has the best music. that's all i listen to. these guys been around a long time and are amazing. you guys should try some 陰陽座 ( Onmyo-Za)
Hokage level ACHIEVEMENT
The funny thing is that Ningen have been around for almost 30 years lol.
Actually, they released their first album 31 yrs ago ('89), and the band itself is 33 yrs old ('87)
@@eviljesus84 they formed in 85
@@moamlbeastineast772 Technically, yes, but they took the name Ningen Isu in '87
Can you imagine if your grandpa was this cool?
for blow your mind talented J-Metal: Unlucky Morpheus with Cadaver/Revadac, the score of Revadac is the score of Cadaver played backwards, solos, everything reversed, (apart from some of the drum line) it is imho a masterpiece.
Ok, you guys definitely need to check out Dir En Grey, they've been around for a while now, and have gone through multiple changes in sound. Their vocalist used to do some VERY intense screams and growls but unfortunately has damaged his voice and can't really do those sort of things any more. Even so, he's an incredibly talented vocalist with a very wide range, and the whole band is super talented.
The lead and the bassist are in their early 50s. Drummer is mid to late 40s. Solid band. RIFs are unique, lyrics are dark, sound is full......what else do you need?
They're all basically the same age, all born in 1965-66.
How can you not like these old farts I love them and I am a old fart. Nice clean chops all 3 of them are very talented.
They re working for more 30 years...
Welcome to the wonderful japanese metal /hardrock scene... reading comments below you got quite a list.. but I have to add some... this maybe is going to be the future supermetal band fully instrumental: Asterism /Rising Moon.
Then You have Jupiter /Theory of Evolution and then You have Galneryus / Angel of Salvation
And then You have the Scandinavians: Nightwish, Apocalyptica, Sabaton and so on...
Ningen Isu [nɪŋ-gén i-s] ;)
Thanks!
If you like this then you both should take a listen to 'Chthonic', a Taiwanese metal band. A lot of their music may be a little to hard for your tastes but they are great imo! Their song " Defenders of Bú-Tik Palace" is a good song to start off with, or even "Supreme Pain for the Tyrant". Also Freddy Lim, the lead singer, is also a Taiwanese politician.
I saw much live dvds from Japan. Audience is different in different halls and there are bands that wish for special behavior.
Please, please, please react to
Dir en grey - Vinushka (unrestricted pv version or live from ANDROGYNOUS -a view of the acro-)
Chimimoryou album by Onmyo-za. Similar vibes from memory.
After watching your last two reactions, I thought you might enjoy this th-cam.com/video/qXcQgAu34LM/w-d-xo.html Wajima v Kanami. Happy New Year!
I was looking for the pale monks reaction...but this seems 😋 as well .. love this song either way 😊🖐️😘
you should have turned on the English sub-titles. (in the CC options)
Not sure where you guys are going with the world thing and if it has to be in the specific genre of metal, but you guys should check out Buerak which is a post punk band from Russia. Also bands like Battle Beast, Kontrust, Tezaura, ANKOR, The Pillows, Russkaja, Bloodywood, The Hellfreaks, Gloryhammer, and Anything Mercyful Fate and or the great King Diamond are amazing.
And a little knowledge to partay, that bass doesn't actually work, it used to be the bass players favourite bass to play live.
Just discovered this nearly 40 year old band, this song is epic! Amazing transitions, amazing range, great presence. Your show, not so good tho, just my reaction to "your" video. Guy in the Taylor on the left has promise, laugh guy, not so much. Shabakamedia.
We're new at this, so we're still feeling out how it all works. The "laugh" guy is Doug. He suffers from treatment resistant depression and doing these videos is part of his music therapy. The day we recorded this was a tough one for him, and I think after hearing Heartless Scat, his mood did improve a bit. So mission accomplished as far as I'm concerned. I hope you stick around to see how we evolve! Thanks for watching!

The "g" is pronounced with a hard "g" like in guy, gumption, great, etc, etc.
