May God bless you and your beautiful family Glenn. Thank you for your service and for your courage in speaking out about the dangers of not masking up with the least bit of smoke. I'm with a VFD and my eldest son is a career FF....He's going to watch your message if it's the last thing I do....much love.
Brother Glenn, as a Stage IV survivor, I'm going to tell you to keep fighting! You have lots of fellow brothers & sisters praying for you and God hears our prayers! Anytime you need to vent, holler at me! You got this!
Hope you make it, Glen! Prostate cancer survivor here with 36 years as a volunteer. It takes a little longer as we don't see the volume of fires as you guys do, but susceptible just the same. Five years cancer free and wishing you the same.
My father is a 46 year member of our local Volunteer Fire Department, he has been battling cancer for the past 3 years, and has gone through radiation treatments and weekly chemotherapy for the past 3 years if it wasn't for the great bunch of guys in his Department I don't think we could possibly get through this, no matter how tough it gets you have to keep your head up and keep fighting and never give up, God bless you and your family
Glenn, thank you for sharing your story - it is going to impact so many....thank you!! Please know you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. THANK YOU for doing what you do and have done. Thank you for having the courage to share your story. YOU are a rockstar. God bless you and your family.
My thoughts and prayers are with you Brother Glenn. I am one of those FF's living with presumptive cancer, leukemia. Never forget, "You are strong and courageous"...
Hey Brother - you are stronger than you know - you have an army of support behind you. Boston has the best care anywhere. Positive attitude = Positive Results = One day at a time. I know all you are thinking about is your family - not yourself. Thoughts, Prayers, and Positive Energy to you on your recovery. Be Strong! Captain Ed Guilford (retired) 3 year brain cancer survivor.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I hope you are doing better and recovering from your stem cell transplant. In Oct. 2016 I found out I had Multiple Myeloma. I just retired after 40 years in the fire service and it looks like the fire service played a part in my diagnosis. I had a stem cell transplant in March 2017 and I am doing much better now. Stay "Positive and Strong" Brother Glen.
I hope he pulls through. I would love for him to come talk to my dept about cancer prevention because there is too many firefighters I work with that say "it won't happen to me."
Prayers to you and your family, Brother. Wish you a speedy recovery Sir. Trying to convince our fire protection district to purchase proper cleaning equipment for our bunker gear. Hope this helps. Again prayers to you Sir.
My prayers are with you and your family. It takes so much to expose yourself and family to the camera, God Bless and I pray you have a long life. Leather lungs were a myth, and people are paying for it now.
Hey Glenn...sorry to see you dealing w/cancer. I know firsthand what you're going through. As a two form of cancer survivor myself [esophageal and testicular] ....I'm living proof that you can survive this. My odds ...they said that I had a 5% chance of living 5 yrs....that was 21 yrs ago. Keep the faith...take it one day at a time. I'm gonna pass this on to our training officer.....maybe they'll listen to you.....cause they sure as hell don't listen to me talk about cancer.
