What if the framing is thicker than a normal door jamb? I had to add a 1x2 to a normal 2x4, so instead of it being 4.5 inch wide with the wood and drywall, it is 6 inches.
For out outswing door I don't think it matters. All the hardware is measured and installed referenced off the front edge. You door would need to be as thick as the wall for an inswing door. Too bad they can't answer your questions.
@@murphydoor could you give me some suggestions? Obviously it needs to be something flush mounted as if it’s not the door won’t close all the way correct?
I’m about to place an order for a door and it’s coming out to 5k. For this much can someone please tell me why is there a gap showing at the top of the door? And what if the door comes damaged? What is the turn around time on getting this fixed?
for an outswing door their does need to be a very small gap for the door to open but for an inswing door that gap will be completely covered. If your door happens to get damaged during shipping it is handled on a case to case basis and lead time always vary. If you have more questions feel free to give our customer service team a call. 😁
Just received mine today and Im not impressed very expensive freight fees and was terribly packed , then the door itself isnt nearly the quality it looks like on camera, face fdame joints are not aligned correctly in any direction, package missing assembly bolts, all pieces are edge banding not cut cleanly very rugged , most every piece to the door was rugged from being CNC cut and then no cleanup, Hardware is nice Id suggest buy the hardware and build your own bookcase even a rookie carpenter could pull off something in the quality range they send , you could screwup multiple sheets of material and still come out cheaper 😂
@JimHetrick1 It actually got worse after I wrote this review, within a month of installation the side without the hinges started to sag and tip out at the top corner due to its own weight the Customer hadn't place anything in the bookcase at this point , I did have the 48 inch wide unit so this might not be a problem with some of the smaller bookcases, but the customer service from Murphy was a joke offered no help for all the problems
Thank you for making this
Wow! I have been wanting a Murphy Door for 5 years. I’ve felt intimidated. I will take measurements and order tonight!! Thank you! Awesome vid.

Great job. I really want one of these. They are soooooo cool!
Great video
Wow ... it was definitely great job
Do you ever need to pump up the jam? Asking for a friend.
Could i install this if i don’t have any flooring installed in the connecting room? One room is laminate vinyl tile and the other is a concrete.

What is the threshold is going from wood floor to carpet? Different heights?
Is that MDF or plywood? I’d hate to pay 2k for cheap wood.
When installing the hinges, for the bottom one, will the screws go into the actual floor? I want one my basement and the floor is concrete.
the screws on the hinges get screwed onto the threshold . they are small screws. the rest of the screws are on the jamb.
Пригодится 👍👍🤗 Давно хочу такую дверь 🤔😊
How do you clean up that raw drywall edge that is left by just butting that jam into the frame?
It depends on your preferred method. There are many different ways. 🙂

@@southcarolina6537 that sucks man, thanks for the response. At least you saved someone else from wasting money.
tbh your product is way too expensive. i go to any hardware store and buy the things myself and pay about half.
i stopped watching after the torpedo level.
