    those all looked pretty good. I use to do these on my aggressive skates but bend down to the boot to practice tweaking for topside and torqued tricks. It particularly helped for royals and torques.

    What type of wheels are best for these? I have rubber but I'm guessing that won't really work and I'll need something else..?

    • @everest0411
      @everest0411 9 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      +Lev When you say "rubber," what A and what size is it? All wheels are made with polyurethane (PU) with or without special additives, or mixtures, depends on the brand and the level.
      In general speaking, street skates use 80A ~85A wheels to get better durability, better speed, but grip is not that great as 76A ~ 78 A. (Do not try 72A and 73A on the road unless you REALLY want a smooth and comfortable ride. These two extra soft hardness wheels will give you the extreme comfort, but slow you down, and the grip function is actually very weak....)
      As I mentioned it is all depending on the brand and the level of the wheels, my Roces 84A wheels has grip power almost the same (and even stronger) than my Rink Rat 76A hockey skate wheels (hockey wheels need to be strong on grip and stopping power).
      I have tried many items and what I can suggest is that Hyper wheels are best for road staking. Since I am also learning these tricks, I will not put too much information here. But on both of my fitness/free style/urban skates, they all came with 84A, 85A wheels 80 mm. My skates are Roces Equinox and Powerslide HC EVO 2.0.

  • @chris765topher
    @chris765topher 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    The powerslide and the parallel are the only ones ive ever seen done on the road, the others just seem like your wheels have to have no grip and you have to be on a surface with even less

  • @ProfessorBorax
    @ProfessorBorax 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I use the power slide quite a lot (the first one) it's easy and instinctive, but you don't need to do it like them, it's more natural to sort of send your leg around in a circle while turning. ;)

  • @garyenx
    @garyenx 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    Check the foot.
    In Unity, you "step" the front foot and place it in slide position. You just put your foot in front and turn it, slide... Look that the front leg (which will slide/breake) stays in front of the leg of balance/suport.
    When doing Savana, you "kick" your back leg to te front, from behind, in order to slide/breake.
    Or: unity = slide foot and leg in front of your body direction; savana = slide foot and leg behind your body direction.
    At least, this is what I think the diference is...

    can you do this on regular fitness skates on concrete, or do you need freestyles on a smooth surface?

    • @zamalbouk777
      @zamalbouk777 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Jonny Nins you need good wheels, that's very important, fitness wheels are often very soft, too much grip

    • @jonathannins6029
      @jonathannins6029 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +john doe thanks for the reply! ive been breaking my neck tryin to shuffle on 80A's haha

    • @danielul05
      @danielul05 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +john doe I have hyper concrete 76mm 84a and still have major issues doing any slides. My technique is also very poor, i have a lot of learning to do.
      Is 80mm better than 76 mm for this? Also, would rockering them help and perhaps a shorter frame too? I'm wearing 46 size and the frame length is really long.

    • @everest0411
      @everest0411 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +danielul05 46....that is a big foot......well... I am 44...not that short as well, ha ha ha.....|||
      I think your skate should be okay. In general, you do need shorter frame in order to do the tricks in a more agile way, but if the frame is too short, you will get more problem in learning and very hard to get speed.
      As long as your front wheel is less than 1/2 outside your toe cap, and your rear wheel is less than 1/2 outside the heel cap, you are in good shape/length.

  • @Keyholder79
    @Keyholder79 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @lucilor Sorry,i have to disagree i believe aggressive skating started in the early 90's because i started doing most this tricks/grinds on benches and stuff around 94-97 and as the only info i found about shuffle it was originated in Singapore but later time.

    Looks very nice. But after stopping like that, how fast do you have to buy new wheels?

  • @everest0411
    @everest0411 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do you guys make teaching videos? Many of the skills that you performed in the video,........I have very hard time to make it work....... Is it because the wheels or the tyoe of the floor? I always practice in outdoor place and many of these breaks that you guys did....I was obstacled by the wheels stopped instead of sliding like in the videos.....
    Is there any trick to make the wheels to slide and slow down instead just stop?

    • @kira16overpi
      @kira16overpi 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      + Jen-Yen Chen It could be because of the type of floor: some floor has huge amounts of friction especially when in contact with rubber surface of wheels. Generally I find floor which are slightly textured (asphalt maybe?) easier to practice slides because it provides the right amount of friction without being too bumpy or stop you entirely! Alternatively it could be too much pressure applied to the sliding foot, because that happens to me a lot!
      Hope this has helped! Cheers and good luck!

    • @everest0411
      @everest0411 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Come A Stranger Hello, Thank you so much for sharing your experience with me.
      If you do not mind, would you please tell me how did you put the weight center of body, how to do weight transfer, how much pressure on each leg, and what is the angle of the sliding leg,...etc.?
      I had tried the Acid and thought I tried not to move in a curved line, but it just tripped me or totally nor working... I do not know how to fix it....
      And...the parallel stop.... do you know how to slide like them? I am not sure if it is because I play hockey...parallel stop to me is a BREAK.....meaning I can never slide like them...I do not know how to make it slide....... I only know how to stop....|||
      And the trick "Barrow (at 1:12 place)," I can do it on ice with ice skate..... or with aggressive skate on a waxed iron pole..... but never know how to make it work on inline skate.....always tripped than slide.... do you know how to do it?
      Much appreciate.

      I feel as though certain techniques need to be learned at speed, otherwise they will be clunky, difficult to execute and hard to control. This happened when I was learning the leg-over-leg turning technique; I wanted to go slow at first, but I realised that the faster I go the smoother my movement becomes. I still struggle to show it at a slow pace when teaching other skaters. I'm trying to learn the parallel stop and at first I thought my wheels had too much grip as whenever I tried to turn my skates 90 degrees I would simply shoot off to the side instead of continuing my velocity in a straight line. But when I was performing the leg-over-leg technique, I realised that my wheels were slippery and if I was going too fast I'd feel my skates slide out, giving way and making me fall to the floor. I'm still learning the parallel stop and although going faster takes away that sense of control, it makes learning the technique much easier.

    • @alicetwilight5869
      @alicetwilight5869 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      try to go faster with the barrow! same could be said about the parallel...but it becomes harder to not fall in high speeds... tell me if you managed to do a good barrow or parallel slide :)

    anything around 85a and up should be a hard enough wheel to make powersliding easy..... The UC 80mm 88a powerblading wheel is my favorite all around wheel... The only other tip I can give you is get some speed and commit to it....

    they are all just grinds, but sliding along the floor, i'm sure there are hundreds of people in vancouver that could do those grinds, which are much more difficult than wheel slides in a sports hall. the reason you don't see more people doing slides in this way, is that it's really limited in its progression. And no im not always nasty, just hate the whole "let's see you do better" argument when i voice my opinion,which is what the comment section is for. Even when i can do better i can't prove

      All the freestyle skates are made with had plastic, plastic steel (ABS), carbon fiber, or fiber glass. All are hard enough to withstand the grinding and also to support your ankle from getting injured.
