They look extremely nice. Although I found that screwing down the workpiece or using scrap wood taps screwed right through the middle and into the table works very well.
I couldn't agree more. I've been using scrap wood for hold downs for a year now. They work just fine... I just wanted some "jewelry" for my workspace! :D
I think your audio track is sure to alert TH-cam's copyright system. I could clearly hear Maroon V. Meat-loafing aside...I love this elegant design for the CNC clamp. Could they be 3-D printed using your plans as well? I noticed some flex in the clamp as you screwed down the workpiece. Might a layer of aluminum or steel help with the strength? What was the dark wood used in the clamp?
Greg, I saw a Hypertherm ad in front of this CNC clamp video. I am actually in the market for an entry level plasma cutter. Are you familiar with this brand? I clicked through and found a local distributor about 4 miles away. I think I may go in for a visit. I know this wasn't a plasma cutter video, but your CNC creativity got me thinking. I was at SV Seeker last week and watching Doug's plasma cutter made me want one even more. Would this be a good addition to my shop?
You may not see this but I was wondering if you still had the plans for these. I just got a CNC and would love to make them. I only have vcarve pro but I bet I can figure out how to get it to work.
Greg, thumbs up on the knuckle drums! I like the experimentation. Gotta' do it.Remember when the first iPad came out? People said, "nobody is going to buy those". Cool build also. You got that CNC bug now buddy. No going back!
Super cool! Its always cooler to have a custom diy version if it does the same thing as the manufactured one. Also, my knuckles hurt for some reason...
I do love these type of clamps, though I think the woodpecker pivots with flat contacts do help spread out the pressure so as to not dimple softer woods. Great job and keep up the awesome work.
Great version of your inspiration of the clamp, super job! I like the music, has a great beat but hard to dance to...haha , Thanks and have a great 2017
Totally. Or a drill and coping saw. I was planning to make a cnc version and one by hand... My bandsaw blade broke on the first cut, so I punted and just went with the cnc.
Cool thing about these is you don't need a CNC to make them, and you can use them for general hold-downs. Dude, you had me until the dirty bird hat. :) Peace & love from MHK.
I know a lot of K-State folks who are incapable of correctly identifying a Jayhawk... I chalk it up to post traumatic stress disorder. If I had gotten wiped up and down the basketball court like you have for the last 50 years, I'd probably repress the memories of my aggressor as well. :D
LOL! 3/4 of my co-workers are from K-State. I've learned to strike early before they bring up football. :D. Let's just all be thankful we aren't from MU.
I am going to have to report this video for copyright violation with the John Bonham solo as the background music! Sweet design on the clamps, I agree simplifying it and removing the feet is a good idea. There is a machinist version of that style clamp as well, made slightly different but similar for sure. ABOM79 and a couple of other guys have shown them.
These are bad assed. Now if you could just pop them out in 6061 or Plexiglass. Rock Chalk! Jay Hawk! If my uncles Machine Shop wasn't closed I'd go make some on a bridgeport. Too bad I don't have a CNC Router to play with. Can I come mess your's up?
Dang... if only I had made the " That's definitely Greg playing" comment on THIS video instead of your last vid! Hahaha... I gotta say, I enjoyed your knuckle music, don't get the hating on it the comments! Enhaced the experience for me, true story. Nice clamps too ( grin )
LOL! Music/soundtrack tends to get more comments than the actual work being done. Its a losing proposition. Everyone likes different music and everyone thinks their opinion matters. The mute button is a great thing. I use it all the time and I never feel the need to tell creators that I used it. I also use fast forward, rewind, 2x and slo mo. :D
KU KU KU allI see is KU Stickers! Just to be a snob MU! And its a lot closer for me to drive to Lawrence KS then Columbia Mo. I'm joking! I grew up by UD so I never got into basketball in this area. Football and baseball Pro teams Why don't you wear Royals or Chiefs hats>? Nice Take on Woodpeckers type clamps. But I think I've see stuff like this used in Machine shops . Look on Amazon you see all kinds of Crap From China that are straight up copy of Inca tools And wood Pecker tools In fact I'll bet you bought the parts for that at woodcraft and it came from Twain
What can I say... It was an experiment... I'm just sick of the canned music, so I tried something different (that's what this channel is all about anyway right?). Sometimes experiments are a huge success and sometimes they are a tragic failure. At least you have the balls to say WHY you hit the thumbs down. I hope the content was at least interesting and thanks for sharing your thoughts. Rock on.
Nice project.but I would rather listen to the machines than your tapping!
That knocking is driving me nuts! Fun to see you experimenting, not so fun when it hurts your head. Please don't do that again XD
im not a fan of the tapping or whatever but otherwise great video man
Timothy Hall I was looking around my room like, what the hell is that!!!
Timothy Hall was about to say same thing - ended up muting my phone... Great project!
They look extremely nice. Although I found that screwing down the workpiece or using scrap wood taps screwed right through the middle and into the table works very well.

Great idea...annoying knocking.
would have loved to watch..... but the tapping was horrible
I stopped the vid... Couldn't handle the tapping
Nice design. But it couldn't find them in your store. What did happen with the plans?
Greg, I saw a Hypertherm ad in front of this CNC clamp video. I am actually in the market for an entry level plasma cutter. Are you familiar with this brand? That's the brand I have. I HIGHLY recommend them.
Pretty cool clamps.
Thanks Zig.
You may not see this but I was wondering if you still had the plans for these. I just got a CNC and would love to make them. I only have vcarve pro but I bet I can figure out how to get it to work.
Functional and they just look really cool!
-Caleb Harris
Thanks Cabel.
Nice clamps you made there Knuckles.
Very nice looking clamp. Is the Fusion360 model available? I couldn't find it. Thanks!
I can get to the plans, There is no link to it on your site. Where can I go to get it.
Thanks
Just following links and found this. fantastic little clamps, love um.
Woodpecker has the "right color"............Their tools jump out at you! Great job Greg, I love it!
Thanks Tom!
That's cool, Greg. Can't figure out where to put my double sided tape though.... :-)
I usually put my double sided tape in my armpit. Pulls out all the hair in one go! :D
looks great!!
Greg, thumbs up on the knuckle drums! I like the experimentation. Gotta' do it.Remember when the first iPad came out? People said, "nobody is going to buy those". Cool build also. You got that CNC bug now buddy. No going back!
Oh yeah. I'm trying to work in fusion at least for a project a week. Some of them will never see the light of day, but I'm learning...
Nice design on the clamp, I like it. Happy New Year.
Thats definitely a great idea.
Killer design, some of those made out of aluminum or steel would be super effective on a milling machine or even at the welding table!!
I think aluminum ones would be awesome.
Brilliant idea!
Thanks Nelson.
always some cool stuff
Thanks Darrin. Happy New Year!
Can’t find the plans?
Super cool! Its always cooler to have a custom diy version if it does the same thing as the manufactured one.
Also, my knuckles hurt for some reason...
LOL! Thanks Jeremy.
Good work man looking forward to making some.
Dude that is freakin' awesome! What a great GG interpretation of a simple and useful tool. Great stuff! Thanks for sharing.
I'm going to try this for sure, and will probably wrap a little rubber around the two curves to make them grip a little more like the Woodpecker ones.
Great design :) I would make them for sure if I had a CNC :'D
Thanks! Maybe if you build a set, a CNC will appear in your workshop... A man can dream right?
Greg's Garage Haha! Of course :) I'll wait the fairy of the CNC once I place my clamps under the pillow.
awesome work buddy
Great job Greg
Very cool Greg.
Thanks Mike!
I think your idea is great, happy new year
I do love these type of clamps, though I think the woodpecker pivots with flat contacts do help spread out the pressure so as to not dimple softer woods. Great job and keep up the awesome work.
mucho more elegant! they look great :)
More clamps! Woohoo! Happy new year Greg!
Back at you!
no copyright on the music...love it!
Man those turned out awesome
Plans no longer there, what's up with this. I'm here in Aug 24 2020
u r the MAN now ...1,604 hits in the second day ...i dont hit that in a month LOL
Awesome vid , great piece
One can never have enough clamps :) Happy New Year Greg.
Good idea, good implementation!
Great version of your inspiration of the clamp, super job!
I like the music, has a great beat but hard to dance to...haha , Thanks and have a great 2017
LOL! Thanks Lloyd.
Awesome!
Thanks Michael.
Thanks for sharing. Good modification. Could also be made with a router template.
Totally. Or a drill and coping saw. I was planning to make a cnc version and one by hand... My bandsaw blade broke on the first cut, so I punted and just went with the cnc.
Dude. That is Awesome!
Those are nifty.
Thanks Matt!
Cool thing about these is you don't need a CNC to make them, and you can use them for general hold-downs. Dude, you had me until the dirty bird hat. :) Peace & love from MHK.
Yes, I was going to make them both by hand and by CNC... My bandsaw blew chunks, so I had to settle for only the CNC version.
Nice
Nice video and cool clamps. Enjoyed the beat in the background too. My only thing is this, "What kind of insect is that on your hat?" EMAW
I know a lot of K-State folks who are incapable of correctly identifying a Jayhawk... I chalk it up to post traumatic stress disorder. If I had gotten wiped up and down the basketball court like you have for the last 50 years, I'd probably repress the memories of my aggressor as well. :D
One thing those 50 years has taught me is to know when I've been beaten, and I have to say, that was one hell of a comeback. (queue the applause)
LOL! 3/4 of my co-workers are from K-State. I've learned to strike early before they bring up football. :D. Let's just all be thankful we aren't from MU.
Tried to pay you a buck for your design. I couldn't find the free version or the paid version of these clamps. Were you required to remove them?
best wishes for 2017 Greg ....
Back at ya man!!!
I am going to have to report this video for copyright violation with the John Bonham solo as the background music! Sweet design on the clamps, I agree simplifying it and removing the feet is a good idea. There is a machinist version of that style clamp as well, made slightly different but similar for sure. I'll have to check them out. Thanks Gary.
These are bad assed. Now if you could just pop them out in 6061 or Plexiglass.
Rock Chalk! Jay Hawk!
If my uncles Machine Shop wasn't closed I'd go make some on a bridgeport.
Too bad I don't have a CNC Router to play with. Can I come mess your's up?
everithing is good
theres is called wood pecker but its actually a plastic pecker your is a real wood pecker...nice work bearded brother!
Great project! No offense but the finger drumming made me wanna blow my brains....
buen trabajo 🖒
I couldn't watch this more than a minute! How could anyone imagine that a person would tolerate that tapping crap!
The tapping didn't bother me!!!! I do similar tapping while working on some of my projects. Nice little project!!!!
cool
Your plans are not downloadable anymore? download "HERE" is just a word now
Hola Greg! voy a ser original, lo mejor del video son los tambores!!!! esos dedos han tocado mucha madera y ritmos diferentes, buen ritmo! jajaja
mute ON
Had my foot tapping along. Cool clamps.
Go Jayhawks!
Great video man but sorry I had to mute it because of the tapping.
NO music would have been preferable over the "drumming" -- but good idea and nice clear visuals.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
The drumming required the mute button. Excellent content!
Sorry... I had to mute the knuckle soundtrack. Otherwise... I like the design riff though
omg that tapping next video
Good to watch once I turned the sound off !
Hmmm, I might print these. Also, tapping was fun.
OMG with the knocking! Torture Test!!!
You better knock on wood that those clamps won't break... oh wait, that's what you did :-)
Dammit Henry stop that knocking! Nice clamps though.
Dang... if only I had made the " That's definitely Greg playing" comment on THIS video instead of your last vid! Hahaha... I gotta say, I enjoyed your knuckle music, don't get the hating on it the comments! Enhaced the experience for me, true story. Nice clamps too ( grin )

Greg's Garage I was going to comment on the music as well, lol excellent videography too bubba
Thanks brother!
I would've liked an explanation instead of knuckle rapping...
Well, I may have been able to learn something if it wasn't for the tapping. Sorry, just couldn't make it through past the first minute.
Nice beard.
ah man! That sound effect you did there was so annoying, I couldnt get through the video
"don't let your meatloaf"?
Great video but I certainly could have done without your finger tapping I had to turn the sound down
KU KU KU allI see is KU Stickers! Just to be a snob MU! And its a lot closer for me to drive to Lawrence KS then Columbia Mo.
I'm joking! I grew up by UD so I never got into basketball in this area.
Football and baseball Pro teams

great idea, couldn't stand the tapping.
I had to mute it and stopped watching all together when I saw how flimsy they were.
Dude! Stop the knuckle thumping!
Dude relax.
they are probably decent clamps but i stopped the video after about 1 minute. you beating on the table is annoying as anything can be.
why are you tapping looks like nice work but you lost me from watching.
Tapping 😡😡 had to stop video ...
Your knocking is really irritating as background music.
Your comment is really irritating, just mute and move on.
Thumbs down for the annoying knuckle taping.
What can I say... It was an experiment... I'm just sick of the canned music, so I tried something different (that's what this channel is all about anyway right?). would have been watchable if it weren't for the annoying, terrible, and pointless 'knocking' nonsense.
The tapping is f..ing annoying stopped watching after 30 seconds
Stop the bl@@*! annoying tapping PLEASE.
Nice clamps but tapping is super super annoying.. Couldn't even watch 20 sec of this video.. Sorry, no sub from me
