bulgaria is definitely not very religious. at least not in the way others understand that word. for very religious. go to turkey or the US. there are many churches in bulgaria but bulgarians don't necessarily go to church much. maybe on easter but even that that is not by and large the case for the average bulgarian...maybe 1/10 at best. in other words christians but not really practicing.
There's a reason for that, cause Bulgaria is the mother of Orthodox Christianity and Kyrilic alphabet which is Used by Russia and many more. From 1944 to 1989 Christianity was banned in Bulgaria and the whole Soviet Union. God was replaced by Karl Marx and Stalin, Lenin, Dimitrov. This is already changing now and many young people in Bulgaria are returning to being Christians. Bulgaria cannot be an atheistic state, cause its the oldest Orthodox Christian state in the world. Its highly underrated and not many western people know that Russia is what it is, cause of Bulgaria!
Turkey is not a great example of being very religious, cause the land that Turkey was built on is Christian. Till 15 century it was still Christian and Konstantinopol one of the biggest centers of Christianity.
@@Anticommunism99 relax dude. didn't say bulgaria is atheist. but it's not as fanatic about religion as others. bulgarians by and large consider themselves christian but they dont go to church evey week like some others.
Nis is an old Bulgarian city. The borders will change again, no doubt.

The US is a mixed culture and you cannot find large religious community there too. Most of the modern liberals are an atheists and neo Marxists.
