I'm finally caught up with the entire series! I love so much about this LP, but what I love most is the character development. Leonard was totally using Inigo in the beginning; he wouldn't give him any of the good equipment, really focused on Inigos' past as an ex addict, and was just generally suspicious of him. Now, L and Inigo have matching outfits, L gave I an historic sword, and he even bakes Inigo sweetrolls! While Leonard is distrustful and suspicious by nature, I think Inigo has opened him up to being just a little bit less the brandy sipping, crushed velvet wearing, cape twirling villain and more of the good guy. Just a little (don't tell Leonard that, though lol). Anyway, this is all to say that I am loving this story and am so happy you're still working on it! Thank you! :)
I like the way you passed off the missing textures in the shields so realistically, and shook your head when items popped in and out. You never broke character. Well done that man!
What a great episode! Finally returning Mr Dragonfly, a very entertaining fight against the undead, worried that they killed Inigo, asking that skeleton for the key... And it's so cool that the Legacy mod has simulated Sancre Tor. Thank you so much for this ongoing series, Gopher! And major props to you for the flawless continuation after not playing Skyrim for some months. One really doesn't notice it at all, (I only knew it from your streams), you slipped back into being Leonard perfectly. You really master the art of storytelling, acting and immersive Lets Playing. :)
There is a simple reason why Leonard feels "an overwhelming urge to poke it". It's because Leonard is, what's known in the vernacular as, a 'born lever-puller'. XD
That's actually a really good lore idea. Skeletons are lacking eyes, so a weak detect life spell is bonded to them so they can still operate with some degree of normalcy. Add in a sort of short range sonar spell so they can avoid just running into walls nearby and Skeletons would actually be pretty dangerous foes. Like realistically speaking swinging a sword or a dagger at a skeleton is a really risky move. Dried, dead bone is HARD, you're more likely to snap or chip your blade and dull the edge than you are to just slice through them. A warhammer or a hefty axe would probably be the best weapons against them. Short of magic, obviously, but magic is pretty much always the best weapon if you can use it.
Maces, or just about any blunt object would likely be what you want. Although you could get more force behind two-handed weapons, obviously. Arrows would be nearly completely useless. I should think that magical fire would probably be best, at a guess. Edit: Also, electricity, as that seems to disrupt the magical fields powering the re-animation. : )
Trying to get caught up on the series, and I’ve gotta say this episode is fantastic! I think it will be one of the classic Leonard episodes. Great work Gopher! Thanks for all the wonderful storytelling.
Ever hear the story of the brownie (house elf not food)? As long as the brownie is kept in honey and whatever it likes the honey on it is an absolute blessing to the household. But run out... and the brownie gets grumpy. I wonder if Inigo is related somehow?
"As long as the Brownie is kept in honey and whatever it likes the honey on it is an absolute blessing to the household." This makes it sound like one should pour honey on the Brownie, or keep the Brownie submerged in it. That's not true. It was not the honey that was the blessing on the household, but the Brownie itself. Brownies were known to do household chores, tidying up, and even mowing grass and cutting grain, if they were well treated. They were also known to be easily offended. Brownies did their work at night, while the home owners were sleeping. Therefore, they were seldom if ever seen. Milk and honey were traditional offerings to all types of the "Good Folk", and not just Brownies. However, it was customary to leave out milk, cream, or little cakes like oat cakes for the Brownie. The two worst things you could do if there was a Brownie about the house would be: 1. Criticize it's work. This would usually enrage the poor thing, and could lead to a backlash. 2. Give it new clothes. Traditionally, Brownies were dressed in rags. If one was seen, and the home owner took pity on it and presented it with new clothes, the Brownie would immediately vacate the premises. Thank you very much for mentioning these now obscure and almost entirely unknown creatures. This is the first mention I have seen of them for many, many years. I'm happy that they are not entirely forgotten. : )
@@Hare_deLune Aye. It is the Brownie that is good for the home... so long as they feel appreciated. Milk and honey, aye. (My Grandma used to leave them bread and honey.) And you're most welcome. I've always felt a certain affinity and appreciation for the fae folk.
Gofer your videos are amazing man you are the most entertaining TH-camr I have ever watched. The way you strategize in Skyrim is just awesome man keep it up actually also maybe you can do a few mod reviews I'm looking to do more mods too I've sort of just got started doing that
Somehow I get the feeling that before this adventure is over, Lenny will once again remind himself that "We are PROFESSIONALS!" at the top of his voice. 🤣
Would be fun to one day see Leonard actually not be able to rely on Inigo or be sneaky and really be forced to act without looking for easy ways out. Really put him through his paces lol.
@Gopher hmm I suppose the majority of what I mean is less reliance on Inigo. I know it doesn't make sense since that's what the character's built from but sometimes it just feels like Leonard could do with a little more growth. Less "nervous, masterful assassin" and maybe more confident, masterful assassin. As for a specific quest, I really couldn't say. I suppose it isn't really possible unless a mod author decides to make a mod that strictly prohibits followers or something like that.
@@zerofirex12 *"Less "nervous, masterful assassin" and maybe more confident, masterful assassin."* - He is already a supremely confident master assassin. The one thing he is supremely confident about is his ability to murder more or less any single living target that is not a dragon :) Even IF he got rid of Inigo, it would have no effect on assassination missions at all. He pretty much leaves Inigo behind for all thieving and dark brotherhood jobs. Inigo is more there for relic hunting/adventuring.
@@GophersVids that's very true. Thieving and dark brotherhood jobs aren't very challenging for him though really. I was thinking more along the lines of what's happening now. Would Leonard be the kind of person that's confident in handing Sancre Tor completely by himself?
@@zerofirex12 No. He'd just skip it completely. But then he would not have even finished the thieves guild quest-line either, as there was dungeon crawling even back then. He'd basically be a semi-well-off thief living in Riften, trying to work his way into Mavens inner circle probably.
I feel like Leonard would make a terrible werewolf, he'd be the sort of werewolf who sees a squirrel and transforms to chase it. It's his terrible impulse control.
No I know he didn't become a werewolf but I thought I remembered him going through up to the point where they offer the wolf blood and lenny noped out the questioned inigo about telling the yarl about the werewolves in whiterun
Stopped watching in Season 5 for some reason. Just got done binge watching up until now. I’m glad to see the museum quests back on track. Also at some point you should find a mod to replace all the dead people in Solitude. Perhaps when you teleport back everything can be different. Install some expanded cities mods and such and maybe just bring some people back from the dead to make the point that this quest has had much bigger implications than you realized. It also seems like a good opportunity to renew Leonard’s fear of magic. Enjoying the series. P.S. Isn’t it about time Leonard and Inigo consider new outfits?
If you need a key in skyrim and there are enemies around, the best guess is always to kill the highest ranking. Problem here is to know which one is it. You got a tomb feeling inside of Tiber Septims tomb? No shit?
Hmm, were they too high level for Lenny to make them fight each other? Or does that not work on the undead? I can't remember, for some reason. I would definitely want an Inigo to watch my back in a spooky, and spook-filled place like that!
Illusion magic does not work on undead, daedra and dwemer automatons unless you have a certain perk that Leonard does not meet the requirements for (and probably never will).
This dungeon really was not fun. Too many enemies outside, WAY too strong (and it gets worse inside). The dungeon itself is easy to get lost in, and something glitched in my game where I had to return here, and the triggering event never happened. So I couldn't complete the quest chain.
It was one of the best dungeons for my high-level character that specializes in restoration, two-handed and archery. Auriel's bow, undead slaying spells, a greatsword with a sun damage enchantment. The whole "slaying hordes of undead" -thing definitely was happening.
I had a character with level 100 stealth and Ordinator, so I was meep-meeping around using Laughing Ghost on everything. It was mad fun. Between Invisibility (spell and potions) and Laughing Ghost I was able to clear the dungeon pretty safely, for the most part. I am genuinely curious about why Gopher hasn't so much as mentioned Laughing Ghost even once, it's so good. I feel like Leonard would love it.
@@TheKazragore The reason, as you say, is that it's "so good". Too good, in fact, for Leonard. The underlying theme of this LP is the challenging of Leonard, and having him be thwarted and frustrated at nearly every turn. Leonard must have sensed the thousands of voices whispering in unison "Poke it!"

“Now this gentleman does not have pants, but I do not trust him.” - Leonard
"idk if you remember what auryen said"... Inigio at the time not listening at all "yum yum tasty sweetroll"... I'm sure he remembers...
Leonard's social anxiety when a backstabbed enemy does not instantaneously become irrelevant is a mood.
That's not social anxiety :P
Don't you remember, Lenny? The guard has the key!
