When this came on, you knew that the battle would be hard, and that even afterwards, you’d still lose in the cutscene
that's XBC 2 in a nutshell. Kick the shit out of some Kingdom Hearts rejects, then just immediately lose in the cutscene following it.

Nah, that only happens a few times through-out the story. And most of the time it happens, it's because you force the enemy to bring in an outside element or change their tactics, causing a shift in the battle and forcing the heroes either to do some unique thinking you can't do through gameplay or find a way to flee the battle. I can't think of many full battles in the game that lead to you straight up losing in the cutscene afterwards.
@@joshuareesor1756 It happened CONSTANTLY throughout the entire game. the only time you fight them and they dont "ENOUGH!" you after the fight is when you're actually killing the fuckers. It's a horrible, overused cliche

@@cringe5973 hell yeah, but i'll be honest the regular battle theme, changing vision and the ambush theme is kinda generic and drags on, everything else is great though, i love mechanical rhythm

Xenoblade and Persona rule the JRPG music world for me, it's always so good to hear songs from them tbh
I've been playing through XC:DE for the first time, and nothing beats walking around in these giant areas, listening to each ones unique story and music. It's been a treat all the way through, even just 20 hours in!

Ah yes, Incoming, one of the best tracks in the game in my opinion (Counterattack for life, though). Always got hyped when this started playing for a fight.

I'm a big fan of the game, both XC1 and 2. I just finished Torna DLC story today too. I really recommend it all, but it is a major time investment.
big recommend. stick through the anime tropes, it really becomes worth it. also 100% play ttgc (the dlc). it's so good.

I gotta disagree with you there. Counterattack is by far the best. It took “Engage The Enemy”, the best song in XC1, and one-upped it ten times, then still blowing every other XC song out of the water.

Hey Jerod do you practice these songs before you do a stream or is it a go with the flow and figure out the rhythm and pacing type of thing?
If you listen carefully, you can pick out where he slips up a few times. I don't think he practices most of the songs.
Even if he didn't technically practice the song, he definitely knew this one well, you can tell by his transitions and how clean they are for the most part.

I think this game would be so much better if rare blades were something purchasable instead of being relegated to rare as hell random drops.
There's one rare blade that is purchasable in gormott
That is against the story
Yeah, that is pretty much what they did for a lot of dlc blades. You just get them outright or from a small quest. But the gatcha element does add a lot of replayability to the game and since you can just farm for items forever because no microtransaction, it is only really bad if you wanted to 100% all rare blades.
That'd be so much worse considering how important money is in the game for other concepts like development and deeds. You can get like 90% of the rare blades in just a few hours of core crystal grinding, it's not hard
i mean, you can get the dlc and get like 15 legendary core crystals at the start of the game.

Upon my first playthrough, I dismissed Zeke as the overly comedic chuuni character, and while to an extent that assessment isn't far off, that cutscene where Zeke flashes through the party and leaves them on their asses left me in awe.
Absolutely obliterated my perception of the character.
And he actually defeated me in that 3rd fight against him.
I stopped dismissing him as a buffoon after that.
