I was gonna say if you wanted warmer ocean swimming head down to Coronado Island Beach....San Diego, but you are heaed north....more cold water but some amazing places to visit! Drive safe.
We're actually going to Malibu next week and found your channel while looking for things to do! We go down there once a year but have never been to Pt Dume, now we have a new place to go, so thank you! Glad we found your channel!
They neglected to note all the awesome trails in Malibu other than the little Pt Dume State Park. A lot of people go to Malibu to hike the coastal trails in the Santa Monica Mountains. I would most recommend the Ray Miller Trail and the Mugu Peak Trail . Zuma Trancas Canyon is right near Pt Dume and Zuma and people could do a really nice big loop there or a shorter loop. Warning bring water if it is a hot day! It can get hot up in the canyons. The most popular spot to hike in Malibu is probably Solstice Canyon. Other worthwhile spots with ocean views are Charmlee Wilderness Park or hike to the top of Sandstone Peak - the highest point in the Santa Monica Mountains from the trailhead off Yerba Buena.
Point Dume was a nude beach back in the day. World famous Surfrider beach where the pier is, was my home surfing break for 50 yrs. It is the most important beach in Malibu!
As you may have learned unfortunately most Californians have no pride whatsoever in our state! It’s crazy because California has one of the strongest EPA’s in the nation but the majority of CA’s residents are transplants from other parts of the country and have no sense of pride or concern for the welfare of California and it sucks because it’s such a beautiful state with so many different types of beauty! You two Keep on pointing out peoples mindlessness in their treatment of wherever they live& the earth in general. Safe travels to you guys.🦶✌️
