I really needed this. I had surgery and it doesn’t look like it’s getting better. I have to get it packed every two days and I think the infection is trying to come back. They are more common in Asian-American children (10%), African-American children (5%), and Caucasian-American children (1%). I have an infection now going on and i'm scared of what the doctor will tell me. I afraid of it getting worse so I need to go to the hospital before it gets worse. Growing up i can only recall having a severe infection at the age of 7-8 and now I'm 23 and having another outbreak. The pain is horrible.

Last month I had a second surgery and it took me a month to get it healed, I think its not fully healed. My question is do you still feel some itchiness inside where the sac was removed? I don’t know if its normal, my doctor said it is but I’m kinda scared it will reoccurs again. Thanks in advance for the answer.
I was born with a preauricular sinus. It has never been infected in my 69 yrs. until a few months ago. Now it is infected again. Antibiotics worked the last time. Hopefully it will help this time.
Ive had a similar experience with my first surgery to remove my preauricular sinus was unsuccessfull and ive had infections and swelling come and go just like you, which is a real annoyance! Im having my second surgery in about a week. I haven't been put on antibiotics before surgery like you did, so i wonder if I should be worried about that. My ear keeps swelling and draining every week or two 🥴
Hi! I’m 3 weeks post op and I’m really hoping this isn’t what’s happening to me :((( my wound is not fully closed but I think it was due to a spitting stitch. No infections at all, just drainage post op. What was happening w you post op?😢 how long after did you guys decide to do another revision
@merylpasana7571 As long as it doesn't seem swollen and infected then I guess you should be good, but if you're unsure I recommend getting your doctor to examine it. I think it took maybe one or two months between my first and second surgery but I'm not exactly sure.

@merylpasana7571 My second surgery seems to have successfully removed it. I've had no complications in about a year after surgery and it looks like it healed well. It did leave a noticable scar, but it might fade over time, and it feels like a small price to pay. I hope yours heals completely so you don't have to have surgery again, but if you have to then it seems likely they will get it all! Wish you the best of luck no matter what 🍀
Much, much better! Actually had to have 1 more surgery because the little stinker came back after 6 months! But the doctor said that was really rare and it coming back again would be even crazier.

I have one too and it is strangely satisfying to drain (by pushing the liquid out) but annoying when it gets infected. Hope you feel better.
Aahhhh! mine always hurt too much to do that, that sounds terrifying to me haha! Thankfully the surgery worked for me though so now more issues :)

Any update? My ENT just removed the track a diff approach but my wound keeps opening like the stitch can't keep the skin together

I have it and it gets infected but I don't have that tiny hole....

Is is sorted now ? I am 37 and first time having problems and have surgery next month, The doctor told me it can come back and you may be scared.
It’s a tiny ass scar on the side of the ear it’s not even noticeable
