Thank you , Lisa, for your honest comments. You sound like an insurance professional! I worked as an agent in an independent agency for over 30 years. Our owner/producer could not have been more informed about all types of health insurance! Companies were always having webinars in addition to the continuing education requirements he had to fulfill. I believe an independent agency is the best….why? They represent MANY companies and are in a better position to search and find the best coverage for their clients. In my opinion, this is better than a captive agency that has only one company to select from!

When I signed up for an advantage plan, I was assured that this plan would cover medications. When it came down to filling a Rx, I found out the broker lied. I have no rx coverage and have gone without my meds because I can't afford them.
thank you. Now how do we protect ourselves and our insurance companies from being overbilled? Are we allowed to ask ahead of time about cost and afterwards for an itemization and how much are doctors allowed to charge per minute of their time since obviously they must charge by the minute these days.

This video is extremely misleading! While there are a few brokers out there that lack ethics and integrity, all Medicare Insurance Producers are licensed by their state , are required to hold Errors and Omissions Coverage, and are trained and appointed by the Medicare Plan carriers. Licensed brokers are accountable for their actions through the State Insurance Administration Compliance Boards. Many brokers DO work in the clients best interest, by being independent, and appointed with all plans available in their area, as one plan does not fit the need of every person. Brokers provide their services free of charge to the clients, and work on a commission set by the federal government. Your video gives the impression that all brokers are out to scam the clients and that is absolutely not the case in most situations. I suggest you edit you video to represent the truth, which is SHIP is comprised of VOLUNTEERS that are NOT licensed by the STATE and do not have the extensive background that most licensed Medicare Insurance Producers have.

My "MEDICARE A" was already expired and theyCMS sent me a letter that they can not delivered outside USA. I am on NZ Country for 20 yrs. It's all stolen mu US Soc. Sec. Card. Pls. need investigation.
You need to report THIS to a government agency, not here! Google "U.S. Government/Medicare help"(or something like that). You're putting THIS in the completely wrong place, IF you want ANY help, that is!!!
