If u want to get a brief, u can go through the book Handbook of Ferroalloys by Michael Gasik. Other than that you go through the paper "process modelling and optimisation of a submerged arc furnace for phosphorous production" by e.scheepers, y.yang et al.
What are the main issues when it comes to measuring how fast the rods are depleted (how can one accurately measure the length of the rods at any given time without turning off the oven). Does anyone know how this is being done?
I am sorry this is out of my scope of knowledge. Wishing you all the best to find your answer, and hoping that other viewers can provide some insight for this query.
If the electric furnace is used to smelt non-conductive ore, the solid material itself is not conductive, and a large amount of slag is produced during the smelting process. These slag and charge cover the electric arc and form a submerged arc state The arc forms between the charged material and the electrodes; the charge is heated both by current passing through the charge and by the radiant energy evolved by the arc
Sorry i do not have much knowledge of the detailed design of the furnace. But i can suggest u some suitable reading material. Basic parameters in the operation and design of submerged arc furnaces, with particular reference to production of high silicon alloys by T.E.Magnussen. I would suggest u to talk to any metallurgist for further info.
Then u definitely must know better than i do. I suggest u go for the available documents of the submerged arc furnace u work with. All design folders must be available. There u can get a lot of information. Good luck with it.
Well explained. Thankyou Sreya
Very nicely explained. Thanks a lot for detailed description. God gifted talent of teaching ... Best wishes
This was really enjoyable.
Your old video was helpful for me during engineering exam mam
Good luck
@@sreyabanerjee4501 thank you ma'am

You explain quite well . Please enhance visuals .This lecture helped me a lot to know about this topic .
Thank you.
Content is really good.
Visual enhancement will be more helpful.
Keep it up.
Thank you very much...
Yes i will be sure to work on it.
For each product , specific power differs, 3500kwh is not constant
Indeed
Can you refer some book where I can get detailed explanation of this topic ?

Your explanation is good but what have you writting that is not visible that's why all point are not understandable

How to know pcd of this furnince
Ma'ma how arc formed in Submerged furnace

Madam, can you tell me how to choose secondary voltage range for Arc Furnace? Is their any calculations?
I am sorry but I dont have enough subject knowledge to answer this question
R u working in ferro alloys Division??
No. I was an intern though
Madam, Can you tell me the difference between Arc furnace & Sub merged arc furnace?
If the electric arc is buried in the charge of the furnace then it is a submerged arc, and if the arc is not buried then it is called an open arc.
@@sreyabanerjee4501 Thank you madam, waiting for other informative video
