You know when you're getting old when a something that you remember being new is now considered vintage 👴🤘
😂 1st en I've ever seen lol
Fly in the ointment here is the cab & doors - or more specific, the parts of them that are double-skinned - especially the doors. Water gets inside the door-skin & gets trapped, then rusts its way out through the lower door sections. So they look amazing on the outside, but are chuffed on the inside, out of sight & out of blast range. Then it starts peeping through the paint.. You have to cut the doors/any double skinned panels apart (say it fast, especially on some of the Leylands with really fancy door shapes - in order to properly sort them & it's a lot of work. I know as I do them. Blasting the chassis is the only way to go - it's the proper job. Anything else is really just mucking about.
Great job as always Mr Blackley - these are waay harder to blast than they look - there are so many facets - it can all look blasted from one angle..change angle - boom, there's yet more to blast..
I enjoyed the room I had and the lack of pipes wire etc just made the job a lot easier 😁👌

ASMR my arse, I could watch this all day. Would even give it a shot myself. I worked in a steel foundry when I first left school. A 'mate' brought his cooker parts in including the glass parts into a 'shot blast' He never lived it down.

The paintwork on that wagon you blasted looked superb. It would be amazing if you get a chance to see th old foden painted.

What a difference blasting makes ,can you imagine how long it would take to get it to that standard even using hand tools ,and then you would not get the finish ,, many years ago mick I used to paint gas holders using all sorts of paint stripper needle guns scabblers ,but always used to rub are hands when they said we could sandblast job satisfaction six hours blasting ,then last 2 hours blow of with the air stick the a nice round coat of iron oxide primer ,can’t beat it
It's false economy thinking it can be done by hand the amount of hours like you say and the finish isn't near as nice. Blasting is a messy job but saves loads of time and effort 😊👌👍 I don't enjoy the painting side so stay clear 😏 I know my skill set and painting is best left to them that can 😂

I done media blasting for some time, but never at that level. People don't know the amount of aching arms you end up with after such long blasting sections. And I was wonder, did the Mercedes in the background get some media blasted look as well. I would have never ever parked anything that close with such a powerful setup...But Thumbs Up for an entertaining video!
Yeah arm ake is an issue but only if ya have a brake from blasting once ya broke in and do it on a daily ya kinda get just to it :) Yeah my van gets covered every day but all its good after a hose down :)

Looked like they painted it with enamel using a brush, bet it came off pretty easy! at least you got to sit down for a change!

Have you done any videos on different abrasive media (sand, crushed walnut shells, ice chips, glass beads) etc?
No I've only got a videos eva with crushed glass alsorts of different grades in the glass or steel grit funny you say this though as I'm using copper slag next week 😬
What media were you using for this? And how long did this project take?

Why didn't they take the cab and bed off for you, surely they'll have to come off when it's repainted
Think it was because of my diary they had this day or wait till I'm next free and I don't fink it was quite ready or they wanted to make a start before I was available next
