I miss the Manila Hotel before the pandemic. It was bustling with events simultaneously held at their different function halls. You can sit at the grand lobby and just watch people pass by going to different parties and events. You can literally see a bride on one side of the lobby and another one on the opposite side. It was that busy! Romantic dates, graduation dinners, engagement shoots, weddings, proms, and conferences, the Manila Hotel was a great venue for all of them. Great memories that will surely last for another century and hopefully more.

The Philippine Eatery or Diner has the best breakfast without breaking the bank or spending too much money, it is tailor for either rich and poor Filipino customers. Their breakfast is way better here in Washington DC, United States and much better breakfast than in Sydney, Australia and probably the whole wide world. I cannot wait 'till i retire and go back to my mother land, The beautiful and friendly Philippines. I love you always, Philippines.

yep breakfast buffet is indeed "in there".. that danish you just ate would of been free "in there" if they had the buffet on like normal times. i love manila hotel. the place has the most character among all of manila's 5 star hotels.the chinese food there is also top notch. Manila Bulletin owns Manila Hotel, btw. The Yaps.

The mango juice is probably still natural (not from powder or concentrate), but they may have a different definition of "fresh". Most likely used to be freshly made but the pandemic forced some adjustments, so they still make them from fresh mangoes but chill the juice and store them. I'm glad you're enjoying the Philippines.

I stayed at the Manila Hotel in 1969 for my R & R during the Vietnam War. Most of the GIs stayed there as it was the R & R center. It wasn’t as plush as it is now. Good old days.

If you have plans to visit Angeles, Pampanga City, may I suggest you try having an all day breakfast in Eggs and Brekky. It is located along MacArthur Hi-way, Dau, Mabalacat. It is near the "walking street". You can also try AMANTE Ribs and Steak near the Clark International Airport or Mister Bob's American Restaurant in Clark Center.
I enjoy watching your VLOGs. You show several interesting restaurants to try.

Biggest challenge in Manila is finding properly cooked sunny side up eggs. One of your eggs looks overcooked. They should do it Vietnamese style with slightly burnt sides with creamy yolk. The other way is lightly steam the eggs in a pan with bit of oil at the start and add bit of water then cover.

Most Manila restaurants add a 10% service charge aside from the sales tax. 10% of the bill, I would surmise, is the minimum amount of tip one should give. One thing though, most restaurants do not expect to be tipped unlike in other countries. If you do tip, it will be highly appreciated. The reason why your vlogs are gaining popularity is your authenticity. When you say, “The burger was just ehh.”, we immediately know that they are not that great. In contrast, when you go to a backstreet hole in the wall and say, “They are really good.” We know that it’s the real deal. This authenticity without being offensive and a dash of humor is what makes your content so pleasant to watch.

Another fine vlog, Marshall. But if I must say, it's not a fine vlog to a certain degree; and that's only because it ruined my planned diet. I had planned to begin my carb-less (no rice nor bread) diet today. Seeing you eat those longanisa made me crave for some, and you just don't eat those without rice! So, I was off to the grocery store all of a sudden to buy Longanisang Lucban - a native sausage from the Quezon Province, oh, which you might get to visit one of these adventurous days of yours. Also, if you're heading to Baler, you will most likely pass by the province of Nueva Ecija. They have their own brand of local sausages there called "batutay". Hope your skeds would allow you to have a taste of them...I can see how you've vastly enjoyed your Manila Hotel sojourn, as have we. Do bring us yet a bunch of wonderful stories from your planned destinations. Godspeed!

kesong puti is made from carabao's milk its kinda like a cottage cheese they traditionally wrapped it in banana leaves and sold it in public market specially in country side or provinces its nice consumed when it's fresh with pandesal a filipino breakfast bread and a brewed coffee just black (for me).

Maybe, they're out of cheese that day and served atcharra as an alternative, instead.

looks a lovely old hotel and I have been but never stayed. The service still looks very restrictive and breakfast poor to be honest. they need to improve things massively to encourage people with money to stay going forward and now the borders are open.

I had my honeymoon at that hotel. The room we're in was haunted.
